Hi, I am Randy West, Johnny Gates son-in-law. I want to thank everyone for all the great postings on John. I have learned more about him from them than my personal time spent with him. Saturday we enjoyed an afternoon at Z-Hills for the memorial for John. It was hard to keep back the tears for all the support we got from all Johns friends. His granddaughter Amber did a tamdem jump wearing Johns frap hat complete with muffs. Robin kept his altimeter cultch tighly to her. What an outpouring of love from everyone. Jump formations were done, a jump plane buzzed us.. it was great. One of Johns friends made us memorial ribons with Johns signiture colors black and red. We wear them proubly. The stories of John in these postings are great. For me John had two positions...stretched out completely in his recliner at home or looking like a spider monkey while doing a leap. We will miss him greatly. Some day we will all meet in Heaven and we can Muff Muff Muff, Yahoo, Hey ###hole, with Johnny again. Thanks, randy and robin
