  1. He looks like a Streamer to me... "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  2. Well, the seller does say that this is the harness that VD wore, not the one jumped... "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  3. Wouldn't that be like anything else 'proffesional'? Primary source of income from getting paid for skydiving... "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  4. Jered. That is the name I gave my son. My father said he did not like names that were shortened, like Rick for Richard or Rand for Randolph, so he named me Rick and my brother Rand. Most people ask if my name is really Richard. My last name also throughs people off. For some reason, they always want to add an 's'. My standard reply to this error is, "Nope. I am just a single Beer." My legal name: Rick Beau Beer "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  5. Ok, that makes sense now. Thought there might have been a missing word. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  6. WTF does this sentence attempt to say? "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  7. Thanks for the information. What about the claim I saw in the thread that the vacination I received, about 45 years ago, could have lost it's effectiveness? Does the body 'forget' that it once had the antibodies and thus is now vulnerable? "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  8. Nope. It's a live virus vaccine, and has been known to cause complications even in healthy people, and you shed virus while you're healing, so you getting vaccinated can cause problems for people around you (babies, elderly, immunocompromised). I'm not going to risk those kinds of problems when the odds of a smallpox outbreak are so low, and when we're not even sure that the vaccine we do have would be effective on smallpox virus that has been engineered for biological warfare. If there was a possibility of exposure, I'd go get vaccinated. Not a medical proffessional in any way here, but I have been vacinated for small pox, when I was young. Have the scar on my upper right arm. My understanding that the vaccine is actually for cow pox and the antibodies your body makes to fight that also are effective on small pox. So would that not mean that the only thing you 'could' possibly spread is cow pox? "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  9. Don't take the path of least resistance That's what rivers do And that's what make them crooked It will do the same to you "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  10. Context John. It's all about the context. Even the most benign words are profoundly offensive if used within the context of what a reasonable adult would see as having the obvious intent of being offensive. If a person refers to Obama as a "boy" then yes, that person is being intentionally racially offensive whether he wants to admit it or not, whether he attempt to explain it away as a reference to his "youth" or not. There is simply no way a reasonable adult can interpret it otherwise. You're an adult. I can't believe a reasonable adult doesn't know it's offensive to call another adult black male a "boy." There's simply no other way to look at it. Bull shit +1 Boy in reference to McCain is ok, but not Obama...bullshit describes it just about right. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  11. How sad it must be to have no optimism. The foundations of all of our holidays really have no bearing on the current observance of the holiday. I choose to simply observe the day in the spirit of being glad for what I have, and knowing that things can always get worse, but being optimistic that they will get better. Enjoy everyone! "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  12. Another story Here talks of a new turbine one under development with an expected 9 minute duration. 10,000 down and a total cost 100,000 and it can be yours. Pilot training included. Pretty cool shit! "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  13. Really? How is this design any different than the ones previously in existence? I also somehow doubt Troy himself developed it. He might own the company, which is a significant accomplishment in itself, but the jet pack is essentially the same as designed in the 1960s. Just quoting the story, or perhaps mis-quoting it. I thought it looked just like the one developed years ago and used the the James Bond movie, among others. Saw the flight this morning on the local news here too. In just that short video, you can see how much work it is to keep the thing stable and under control. "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
  14. Former professional skydiver Troy Widgery develops jet packs for stunts, promotions and other events will have one of his creations flown over an 1100 foot deep gorge in CO. Story here "I'm not lost. I don't know where I'm going, but there's no sense in being late." Mathew Quigley
