  1. I had a couple chunks but stopped because I knew where those things would take me. I still can't believe you were drinking/eating a coffee mug full of them. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793

  4. That was no Skyhook or RSL, that was all me... Yep, 3 line twists on the reserve, too. State #4. I think Big Eric may have gotten it. Hopefully he got the version without that loud drunk guy trying to help by attempting to harmonize... I know Big Eric definitely got the practice round the previous night. 8. Mainly you need to point your toes when you track away from a formation. Those who can't point their toes would be at a disadvantage but not incapable of maneuvering. I'd call up the dropzone and ask an instructor what they would recommend before purchasing anything. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793

  12. Here's a few options. Mac: iMovie comes with it and is free. It's a good software program to start with if just getting into editing. FinalCut Pro and Adobe Premiere Pro are expensive but allow for more advanced features and options. PC: Windows Movie Maker comes with the OS. It's free but not very good in my opinion. Adobe Premiere Elements is a good intro level editor and not too expensive. Some more advanced options out there are Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere Pro. It's not a complete list. There's a lot of considerations to think about when purchasing an editing package but that should get you started. Search the forums for threads discussing the different software packages to get some idea of what else to consider. My personal advice is if you haven't done much editing, start with a simple program and get a feel for it first. Then go to a more advanced system so you wont' feel overwhelmed. I'm sure there are others here with better advice so listen to them as well. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  13. At first I thought that could be a possibility, but once they started turning to brass, I knew it wasn't. So here I am, the proud new owner of some big brass balls. They should help with your fallrate. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  14. Yes. With avatars. Doesn't work too well for some people who change their avatars often. Hmmmm, that gives me an idea. What if there was just a spot for a sticker that the person could printout their latest avatar? Different inks & label brands could be tested to find the one that will stick until peeled off and leave no residue. Damm now the printing scientist in me wants to go play.
  15. Hmmmm I think everyone should have had their names prominently shown Hmmm do we need dropzone.com name badge t-shirts for the boogies? Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  16. Nothing like giving us a challenge. We'll have to have Hans whip up one of his "special concoction" pies for the occasion. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  17. Is it my fault that my username will tend to be first alphabetically?...Oh wait, yeah it is. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  18. I've been told by many that I have to go to Skyfest. Therefore I am. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  19. The new profiles don't appear to show the user's real name anymore. I haven't found a way to turn it back on either. I found it helpful to figure out who people were sometimes. Please bring it back. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  20. Brian Germain has a wing loading chart available that can be used as general guide only. http://www.bigairsportz.com/pdf/bas-sizingchart.pdf It's a good starting point but talking to the DZO and instructors should also be part of the process in deciding what size canopy to try. A good rule of thumb is not to make a big leap in size, but to go in small increments. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  21. Count me in. I'll be there. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
  22. I'm one of those people who wants to know how everything works. When I was going through AFF I wanted to know how everything worked. I downloaded all the container and canopy manuals I could find to get better insight on how everything worked. When I got my own gear and was learning how to pack I would again read every manual and watch every video I could find on the subject. I'd practice packing at home to make sure I could do it well enough. I also took apart the rig (except for the reserve) and looked over everything. I read manuals on how to pack a reserve even though I knew I wouldn't be doing that anytime soon. After all that I can say that I feel much more confident with my gear. By knowing how everything works together I also feel much better about emergency procedures and what to do in certain situations. Knowing why we do certain things is a great comfort to me. 23. 3 hours to get to my home dz and 2 hours to get to the closest one. Hopefully once I move it should only be 1.5 hours max. Muff Brother #4026 Loco Zapatos Rodriguez SCR #14793
