  1. Sounds like a cool idea, but they don't appear to be available in the U.S.
  2. A friend of mine just told me that the Harris fire has missed the Skydive San Diego drop zone. Over 300 thousand people have been evacuated and almost one thousand homes have been destroyed in the area. It will be nice to have the distraction -slash- stress reliever of skydiving when this is all over.
  3. With the light atmosphere up there, the hill could be a full orbit. *That* would be cool!

I learned that lesson the hard way. A woman who wants me to compromise who I am to make her happy would doom us both to misery.
  5. I brought my altimeter on a commercial flight just to see to what altitude the cabin was pressurized (about 8000 feet on my flight). When I got back and talked to some people at the drop zone about it, I got the impression that a lot of people do that.
  6. Perfect, these are exactly the kinds of ideas I was looking for. Yes, I'm exploring the idea of becoming a rigger. I have some skill with a needle and thread, but almost none with a sewing machine. I talked to my Mom about this and she suggested getting some cheap fabric and develop some basic skills before attempting a project.
  7. My rigger wants me to plan a first sewing project and I need some ideas. What was your first sewing project?
  8. I just brought mine home for the first time--I've been storing it at the DZ since I bought it. We enjoyed a nice candlelight dinner together, and then snuggled on the couch and watched a movie. Romance, baby!
  9. Ditto that. New gear...*drool*
