  1. Thanks for all your replys. I wear my RW suit most of the time but sometimes freefly jumpsuit or shorts. When I wear the RW suit I have noticed that the legstraps slide down my leg when in a sitting postion. My jumpsuit is tight fitting so I expect it but always returns without slidding open when I stand up. I inspect my gear before first jump and dirt is one thing I look for due to dry dusty locations were I jump at. Me and my rigger checked the straps for proper routing and condition of the hardware after that jump. We could not figure out why it happened. No movement was every noted on my left legstrap in the past but the right usually moved no more than about half an inch. I didnt think anything of it at the time. One thing is for sure, I aint taking any chances. The feeling of my legstrap slipping during deployment was a little scary and hope its just an isolated fault in my rig.
  2. Of 80 jumps on that rig, all but two were stand up landings. I've had a few stiff openings in the past but they didnt slip then.
  3. To anyone who uses a wings container with friction lock legstraps. On my last jump my left leg strap slipped to about two inches from the stops. It was kind of freaky just hanging there crooked in the harness and trying to counteract the turn while hanging on the right risers to tighten the strap. It kept slipping out again so I did the best I could and landed uneventfully. Now, I never had any indication that the left side was staring to slip though I did notice my right legstrap was slipping around half an inch after deployment about 50 jumps in. It is a new container I purchased about a year and a half ago and put 80 jumps on it. I tighten my leg straps making sure the elastic band is up against the hardware(i'm using stainless steal btw), roll the excess stows and tuck them in the legstrap pouches. After landing I re-tighten and stowed the excess in the pouch like I always had. When I stood tall and arched both would slip out with or without the excess stowed. WTF?! I'm sending my rig to Sunrise for inspection. So has anyone had this happen to them and what did you do? On average, how long does it take to for them to start slipping out?
  4. My new Z-1 was a pain to open till I tried this: using one hand, hold the button down with your index finger, then squeeze the visor around the button using your thumb and middle finger. Should pop right out. It works for me using gloves as well
  5. Anyone play SOCOM: Confrontation? I just bought it a few weeks ago and spend most of my freetime on the PS3 network. Wish there was more maps and new weapons but still worth it. COD in sigle player is awsome but never tried it online.
  6. Air Force C-130 Flight Engineer Hey merino007, so whats it like flying Gucci?
  7. There is also a small DZ about 20 miles south east of Odessa called Skydive Eagle's Nest. I've been jumping there for a while and no shit there are alot of stickers! I drive by Westex every time I drive to Odessa from Abilene. Someday I'll stop by and check the place out.
  8. Air Force SSGT and been in for 8 years. During your intital training you wont have an opportunity to jump until you settle at you first duty station.Like most people say, you really dont know where you will be for sure. If your lucky, hopefully within a few hours drive to a DZ. Even in the operational AF it is sometimes a pain in the ass to convince commanders/supervisors to do such a high risk activity that they know nothing of.Oh yeah... the ORM breifings will be flowing like a river! But it is required to CYA... just in case. Lastly, the deployments could cause currency issues and depending how often you deploy, progress could be slow. (like me) Every now and then I travel to NC to lift the Golden Nights and freefall students and watch them tailgate off our C-130. Damn I am so jealous!
  9. Just wanted to know what to look forward to when visiting any boogie. I have never experienced one so when I get back from my deployment I plan to make a few jumps at my home DZ to get recurrent. Then I will go out and see whats out there and visit other DZ's. Any help will be appreciated.
  10. Q:What do you call that useless skin around the pussy? A: a woman
  11. I jump at a small DZ outside of Odessa/Midland area called Skydive Eagle's Nest. It is a comfortable place with friendly people and a whole lot of outs. But eventualy I will get my own gear and start to venture around the state seeing the much larger DZ's.
  12. Hey everyone! I'm new to these forums and relatively new to jumping. Started jumping in '04 on a small cessna DZ. I started out on static line and jumps have been slow ever since I got my license because Uncle Sam regularly calls for me. Hope to meet new jumpers and get some more jumps before I go to the "box".
