  1. McBASE...I've got to remember that.

I read the manual that came with the rig. That's all I needed.

  2. Who cares?

I jump for the fun of it and if some oxymoron thinks it ani't a BASE so what? I'm the one having a ball while he's sitting on his ass bitching.

  3. The problem with type 17 is that are more susceptible to be built wrongly hence compromising safety a great deal in the BASE environment. There is more room for "error" in type 8 riser construction.

Also many BASE risers are integrity (the # 0 does not go trough both webbings and they look reversed.

As for the dual BASE canopy I guess you are referring to the sorcer that 1. it was never popular , 2. it is not built anymore.

I think you could order a sorcer with both large or small but the most I've seen have large rigs.

  4. Keep it for turning as it's more effective than risers.

However flaring with one riser and the opposite toggle can be challenging; I'd land with both rears.

  5. Like Tim said but I close the top grommets right after the first fold.

Then I dress the tail very much like I would do on a reserve, i.e. by making ears and stuffing them on the sides.

With this method you are able to generate neat corners that can be stuffed directly into the container's corners.

I saw Miles D. using the very same technique.

The fundamentals for the p-pro to look pretty and have the best pin tension are:

Don't place fabric above the line.

Make the pack wide and flat rather than narrow and thick.

    Fill the corners well.

  6. I really do hate to see such a preventable mistake being the cause not of a just a broken leg.

Being a the small community that we are, when Paul Crallan went in I really thought that nobody was going to use the same technique for stowing the PC...wrong as usual I was.

    Neither does Johnny's method.

    That's why I don't use the super-shroom.

  8. And if you want me to be constructive his method does not have the centerline extended, a notion that is virtually known by any BASE jumper.

His method is not for folding a BASE PC but a SD PC.

Again you got to love it.

  10. Got to love it. You got a few jumps and you already feel qualified to teach your 0.02 online.

    Again got to love it.

Besides, since the jumps have been PCAs or SLs, it falls in the category of "high enough

    Tony FF it FYI.

  12. Yep and DW threw a double from 180'...Yes it's mind blowing but think all the shit divers throw in 33'!

  13. Don't buy the hype. There is NOTHING dangerous on properly well maintained VI and IIs. Yes there is velcro that has to be replaced every so # of jumps, big deal. I still jump a velcro BASE rig and I have a Warp III that I SD on regular basis. I'm still here and all the nasty malfunctions I had were on very modern gear.

  14. Maggot,

I know you are from Jersey but there is a fundamental difference between a manikin and an inflatable dull, that Monique gal I once slept with in your basement was not a manikin I can guarantee you that.

By the way given your spelling (a sign of great intelligence so they say), are you referring to a manikin or a Mexican? If the latter then I apologize as Mexicans are known for off heading openings and hitting cars and maybe that night in the basement I happened to have slept with a dead Mexican, who knows, as the room was purple with yellow flowers and it smelled like spring.

  15. IMO skill-set are different from exit up to the 5-6 second mark. After that you got so much air around you that you are in SD territory.

Experienced and current skydivers (like 1000+ jumps) make much much better BASE jumpers because 1. they tend to be good canopy pilots and 2. they have been through and saw enough shit in SD that their attitude is usually not the typical young-dumb-and-full-of-cum-150-jump-wonder-I-want-to-BASE-now-show-me-the-way-I-got-the-money.
