  1. Nope he is getting his brakes lines removed. Under canopy everything will feel normal until just before he lands when he realizes his toggles are attached to nothing and it just ruins the entire finish. How can you walk with your head up after an experience like that?
  2. If you want it done right then this is what it is going to take! If he doesn't listen then think about what else we won't listen to. The flip side of this is true also, if she lies or doesn't tell us what she wants in the bedroom then she won't tell us about what she wants in other areas.

    Scary

I'll take a pic later in the day and post it. I think we can all imagine what an uncircumsized penis looks like, no need for a picture to ruin this monday morning
  4. They stopped the jumping for a few minutes so that everyone could see the flag jump. He got a long round of applause on the ground and on the bridge after that jump. It was very cool!!
  5. Vertical visions has put the pics online!!!! Enjoy everyone http://www.vertical-visions.com/gallery/BD2009/1200-1259/BD09-07878.php
  6. That sounds like a great reason to go jump at Cross Keys Smoke and mirrors, my friend. Oh come on now Lucky don't kill the fantasy. Don't you know that men have active imaginations? If you wanted to kill my dreams then we may as well already be married
  7. I would be damn proud! Everyone has their own opinion about what this means, just look how long the thread is for a "trophy wife". To me it would mean that I am a catch that is proud to be displayed. That can involve intelligence, looks, attitude or even fun to be around (can I please just have one of these?). Lets see what everyone else thinks.
  8. To piggy back on this if you lose a brake line or decide to do a rear riser landing pick your landing spot carefully. I watched someone at the bridge this weekend lose both brake toggles and then rear riser flared at the edge of the river/landing area. Let's just say the thump that they made sounded very painful and they were helped away. If they had decided to land in the river they would probably be just fine, except VERY cold, damn it was a cold weekend.
  9. That sounds like a great reason to go jump at Cross Keys
  10. It was cold, rainy, foggy and even snowed on my second jump. They said they were going to have the pictures posted by today but there was some problem with the time stamping on the pictures so they have to manually do it. It was a kick ass time and big thank you to everyone who put it on and HUGE thanks to Jason and Jennifer. 8 great years and many more to come with them in charge!
  11. Anytime I force myself to have one of those "smell the roses moments" That moment when you take a deep breath and appreciate what you have and forget about what you want and what is bothering you. Sometimes it is after work and I am letting my dog run in the backyard. Always the first few seconds after landing my canopy and thinking about the jump I just finished. In these moments nothing else is running through my mind except thankfullness and that feeling of being rich.......
  12. Now that is a book that I would read cover to cover! How about "Look Ma no hands!"
  13. 4:0 First CRW Camp!!! Got to jump a Lighting and learn what it feels like to have a mesh slider and no deployment bag. Think that will help to get ready for the bridge this weekend. So who else is going to be at bridge day this year?
  14. Since a few people have said they should just be honest let's see how this would be handled. Start with you just broke up with someone, non jumper by the way, after a year relationship and feel as if a woman is flirting with you. If you are just not into her would you tell her that or go with a cop out excuse? Be honest women, are you going to stop with he is just not into you or are you going to ask why? If you ask why do you really want the guy to say?
  15. Maybe you could check for yourself and see if your head really is lodged up your ass. Politics will never be the same after this
  16. Look at any other type of sport, car racing, soccer, baseball, basketball, hockey, ect... When a player gets hurt they stop play long enough to get the player safely off the field then the game, race, whatever goes back in play. Why should skydiving be any different?
  17. I had the same thing happen when I was selling a laptop. I thought it looked fishy so I called paypal and they said it was a scam. They said that they are not an escrow company and don't put holds on money. This was over a year ago so maybe some things have changed but I would call paypal and find out for yourself. Once it is shipped there there is no gong back. Good luck
  18. I am in the same boat as you with learning head down flying. One coach I am working with gave me a few exercises that may help you. Jump with a coach or someone that has more HD experience and do a linked HD exit. Hold the link all the way to breakoff altitude as if you two are the base of a big way. Keep doing this until you both are so stable that you can let go of the link and not have any separation. Then you can un link and basically play patty-cake with each other. Once you can accomplish the patty-cake then take one handed docks and build your way to two hand docks. If you are a fast learner you can do all this in maybe ten jumps. You may spend ten jumps just trying to hold the link steady before you can let go. In the end you are learning what the "falling down the pipe" feels like and holding it stable. I am still in the first part of holding the linked exit to break off and am amazed at how much I am learning just in the first exercise. Best piece of advice is to breathe and relax. When things start to get messed up and feel wrong then just take a breath and relax and you will be amazed how it corrects itself. Have fun and enjoy watching that upside down horizon!
  19. I can relate to that. I was helping a girl change her flat tire on her car and then got on my bike to follow her to a gas station and dropped my bike right in front of her. That broke my right turn signal. A few days later I rode to my mechanics house, it was an old bike that the dealership would not fix, and he just had more gravel put in his driveway. When I pulled up the tires went out from below me and I dropped the bike on the other side and broke that turn signal. Two drops in one week, so don't feel too bad
  20. Everyone has posted some good answers but the real question is, if you are downsizing why have you not taken a canopy course? It is common for jumpers to get bored with their current canopy and think that downsizing will present a new challenge, like how to land a smaller canopy in your case. In a good canopy control course you will learn how to use all the input controls and a few different ways to flare depending on your landing. I think you would be amazed at how much you could learn from one of these courses. There is a reason that pro swoopers have thousands of jumps, it takes awhile to learn and practice. You are not going to resolve your landing based only on advice online, not to be negative. Good luck!
  21. Adam, Sign me up for the funnelled exit competition, I am going to take the title from you this year! See you all out there
  22. Does anyone know if you get a hotel in San Juan is there transportation to the DZ? For people bringing non-jumpers and staying in the city (San Juan) should you get a rental car to back and forth to the DZ or is there a shuttle? I heard about beach jumps, are you being dropped over San Juan or over Arecibo? Can you tell that the non-jumper is a woman and she has lots of questions? Thanks for help and can't wait to do some freeflying jumps with everyone!!
  23. I have a Dolphin from 2000 and when I bought it a year ago before I ever jumped it I sent it back to Altico. He was awesome at getting everything ready for freeflying and making sure it was done quickly and for a good price. I think I spent $300 to get new riser covers, tuck tab reserve cover and a new BOC with the bridle cover. I have put about 80 freefly jumps on this rig both head up and head down with no problems. It is worth calling him and asking the questions for yourself. In the end if you have gear fear then you need to spend some money to loose that fear. Good luck Blue skies
  24. Have you thought about trying to launch a sit train exit? This will have you both facing the tail and linked together is a sit anyways. If you can hold it past the hill then you can let go and rotate around and no separation. Give it a try
  25. It is time to man up and just do it. You are 19, do they still check the road before you cross it? If you want to make a skydive then sack up and just do it already!
