  5. Im confused. What are you proposing to change? Add your check list? I looked threw your list and as far as i knew i was suppose to cover all those things on your list for every level. This is why I am confused.I thought your list was in play in a way i guess. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  6. just doesn't make sense to me. AAD company's should have been on there own on this. changing their instructions on how to use there produce... Change to me is cause there is a problem with the way its being done. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  7. Psssst............... what is the traffic pattern altitude? im guessing the ground lol Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  8. so what is to be said about far part 105.23 (c) that stats 2k they are the feds guess that will change soon as well. I think it use to read 1800 a few years back if i remember correctly § 105.23 Parachute operations over or onto airports. No person may conduct a parachute operation, and no pilot in command of an aircraft may allow a parachute operation to be conducted from that aircraft, over or onto any airport unless— (a) For airports with an operating control tower: (1) Prior approval has been obtained from the management of the airport to conduct parachute operations over or on that airport. (2) Approval has been obtained from the control tower to conduct parachute operations over or onto that airport. (3) Two-way radio communications are maintained between the pilot of the aircraft involved in the parachute operation and the control tower of the airport over or onto which the parachute operation is being conducted. (b) For airports without an operating control tower, prior approval has been obtained from the management of the airport to conduct parachute operations over or on that airport. (c) A parachutist may drift over that airport with a fully deployed and properly functioning parachute if the parachutist is at least 2,000 feet above that airport's traffic pattern, and avoids creating a hazard to air traffic or to persons and property on the ground. 9. in my opinion this was USPA getting aad companies out of its ear. This change can be waived by a S&TA. If their was/is real data to support this why is uspa exposing itself with a waiver by a person that is most likely not a expert in AADs or air pressure? If a jumper does not have a AAd. How is this a problem affect him? How is it less safer now then last week or last month or even 10 year ago? Nothing has changes for a person without a aad. A person without a aad and is knocked out will not have any delay issues.. I ask why the change then? Simple fix would of been uspa turn to aad company's and have them simply add in their instructions that if use our product you must deploy by said alt or product could fail or work improperly. now with this way uspa will not be tied to a skydiving products issue.... THIS IS A SKYDIVING PRODUCT ISSUE. NOT A SKYDIVING ISSUE... Last thing it was in front of the board to raise Tandem deployment in past with same reason. That one was turned down. Best part is non uspa dzs will do business as usual. so guy up above thinking booth has hand in it. This will not help at all in this area. Was this uspa giving in ? maybe Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  10. Having delivered well over 2000 videos/stills on thumbdrives in the past year, and knowing other DZ's have delivered more than that without a single complaint nor request for a DVD...I challenge this way of thinking. It's a _shit ton_ more work/effort to strip video from the TS folder from a DVD to put the video online. It's also highly debatable that 'soccer mom' knows how to locate the transport folder, copy/strip the video, and then re-encode for YouTube or whatever. Yet it would be difficult to argue that soccer mom doesn't know how to insert a thumbdrive. Most TV displays made in the past 5 years have USB ports and AVC decoders as well. There are arguments against thumbdrives (mainly cost), but that it will 'limit viewers' has proved to not be one of them. The same argument was made when DVD overtook VHS, and it too, proved to be a non-issue. Next point; Offering a 'menu' of choices generally has just confused the issue. We've done this in the past, and while I agree with offering choices, practicality and speed make it a poor situation for a dropzone that is pounding out videos. If the conversation is a 182 DZ that has a lot of time to edit/render/deliver videos...sure. Offer them everything as side dishes. For a busy operation pounding out 100 tandems on a Saturday, it drastically reduces efficiency. Thanks my thoughts on matter also. Giving tandem student more opt will just make things worse Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  11. I think its the best way to give it to customer. Again price of dvd,cd, and paper selve comes to about a $1 iv found 3-4 on usb thumbs so its why I havnt changed. If i could find 1-2 a piece with adv print on it id jump all over it and yes would save so much time just draging and droping. Have any links like that send my way pleaae. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  12. Yea give customer log in or something. Trying to find other way then handing disks to customer. Thumb drives would be great if they were cheaper. I get calls every week my disk is scratched or it don't play. There has to be a better way. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  13. I want to use another method then DVD to deliver product to customer. (upload to website, thumb dive) Thumb drives seem to be to expensive. Cheapest I found was 4.25 per unit with logo. Anyone using anything other then DVD and CD's? Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  14. Nonsense. If that were true it wouldn't be available outside of the Factory Team. Just thinking out loud here. Who outside the team is it available too? A hand full of people? I can care less to be honest. I am having hard enough time wanting to get the scratch together for a comp velo. I am deff not paying 3500 plus for a canopy to compete 2-3 times a year. So again no worries I can careless who they go to. I do think its a wing and like every other wing you fly whats over your head. Wording is everything and the way they worded the article on said canopy makes them (pd) sound snooty to me at least from a public relation stand point. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
  15. Wow! PD sounds a little full of themselves here. They should just say we made a new canopy for our team so they can kick more ass. I dont know what the rules are with what canopy you can use in comps. Im thinking that its for sale for that reason but they pick who to sell too. I dont have a problem with that at all. I mean one of reasons to get on a team is to have more of a edge right? (support, gear ect) I love my velo and thinking of stepping up to a comp. As far as copying, of course companies copy products. It happens in every market. Why should PD be any different. They are just keeping up with times. Looks like they are doing a good job of it too. Never give the gates up and always trust your rears!
