  1. Woot has a JVC gzhm320bus camera for $220 right now. Anybody have experience with this camera or newer JVCs? Only posts I found were from '05-'07. Not many reviews online. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

    Jumptown

I came up to check it out a couple years ago and haven't looked back. Just about everyone is friendly. Safety is a big thing here. There is an awesome positive learning environment for newer jumpers. Plenty of coaches and people willing to go up and teach you something. I quickly went from a 100 jump wonder that could barely pull off a 4 way round to doing big ways (anything from base to floating to last diver) The aircraft is well maintained and the pilot is incredible. The student gear is well maintained and is some of the newest gear in the industry. Plenty of rental gear for experienced jumpers too. Absolute confidence in the rigging loft and packers. It doesn't matter what type of flying you do, there is always people to jump with and load organizing every weekend. Multiple packing areas. Huge landing area, the manicured area is C&D only, but the rest is soft sand. Some areas are a bit rough, but it is forgiving. Camping and showers. The food trailer rocks. There aren't enough good things that can be said about JT.
  3. Anti fog on the inside. Scratches on the outside. Auto parts store should have some stuff for things like Jeep soft tops and rag top convertibles with soft windows. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  4. That would be nice. CPI getting an Otter for sure? One more place to look into to be training out of if they are. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  5. Has there been amy interest in starting this back up? Mass Defiance was running it in 2008 as far as I know. Nobody picked it up last year. Starting my first team this year. Would be nice to do some local competitions before Nationals. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

  8. Did you miss that poll from last week? All wet and slobbery is good when you are going down on me, but firm it up a little bit when we are kissing. A bad kisser is definitely a disappointment, especially since it's a huge part of sex too. I've considered stopping in the middle because the kissing was so bad. How do you tell someone they are a horrible kisser without distroying them? Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.

No. You really should stick with the school girl uniform. Just let us know so I make sure to show up that day. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  11. They were asking you if you wanted some pot. Up here in New England we really don't care what you do in your your bed as long as it doesn't involve children or animals (which I'm sure you see nothing wrong with.) And as far as I've seen it's the homophobes that have a hankerin' for some big 'ol cock. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  12. I don't really like "punch". People tend to go out instead of down, which causes them to pull at 90* to the cutaway housing, causing a difficult pull. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  13. Hydrogen will be safer than that. There are storage cotainers that hold the gas molecules in a solid matrix. You can cut the cylinders in half and put them in a fire without detrimental effects. You can't use compressed hydrogen in regular cylinders, you can't compress it enough for it to be efficient. You would need huge cylinders to have any kind of range with current internal combustion engine technology. Learn to be happy. Which DZ to visit?

I'm going to be in Winchester VA for the next two weeks. I'm going to try and jump over the weekend. Which DZ should I visit and why? Mostly RW, but if there are wingsuits to jump (don't have one yet) I'd be interested. And if the weather looks like it will be crap the entire time, I'll need a place to drink some good beer. 15. Dude, I had a roommate's girlfriend do that. Now when you have two guys living in a house, the bathroom trash only gets emptied every three months or so. After coming back from a two week work trip, I almost puked when I went to water the bathroom floor. My roommate couldn't figure out why the bathroom stunk for the past week and a half or where all the flies came from. The fuzzy seat covers just make for a fun game. I don't know if you ladies realize this, but the seat really doesn't stay up to well with those things. We have to put the seat up, catch it and put it back up a few times, make sure it's going to stay, then get ready to stop the stream with out peeing on the cover or try and manuver to catch the lid while still peeing in the bowl. Ocasionally there is a temporary transfer of the stream into the trash. I think there are bonus points for the transfer if it is done without hitting the floor. Learn to be happy. 17. I was wondering when someone was going to bring that up. Ironically I'm not really a big drinker. I home brew, bring crazy beers to share at the DZ, and have a fairly good amount of knowledge of what goes into making different styles of beer. Anyway, I know he won't get better if he isn't ready to give it up. He was talking about rehab. I think he was trying to find something today, with my mother's help. He definitely has people to support him when he needs it. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  18. I thought there used to be a forum here for recovering alcoholics. My uncle is going thru some pretty rough shit right now and has turned back to the bottle. I'm trying to be there for him, giving him an open ear to talk to, but there is only so much I can do. I'm looking for some places online I can direct him to, weather they be chat rooms or message boards, where he can talk with other people that are or have gone thru similar things. He knows he has a problem. He's tried AA, but it seems the vast majority there are in the program because it is part of their probation. They go out and get trashed after the meetings. It hasn't done him much good. I really need to help him, I don't know where to turn. Learn to be happy. You can't be there for anybody else in life if you can't learn to be there for yourself.
  19. I've got no complaints other than it really doesn't have a manual. It comes with a quick start guide, but that's all you really need. It's simple and straight forward. Two sets of alarms, no jump log (that's what keeps it affordable), reliable, loud. It's been right on with my Alti-Track. I have the volume somewhere in mid range and I can still hear it fine when I forget to remove my earplugs. If you have hearing issues I think max volume will still hurt. My first audible as well, so no comparison. I've set of some mode where it starts cycling thru the different alarms. I don't know if you can use set those other alarms for different altitudes. When you are in the hanger and it starts going thru the alarms, it's loud and pisses people off in a hurry. No way to stop it. Learn to be happy. 20. I'm heading to Eloy for the boogie and wanted to see if anyone else was arriving or departing around the same times and wanted to split the cost of the shuttle from Phenix. My flight gets in on the 23rd at 2:44 in the afternoon. Thinking of leaving on Jan 7th. Flight at 11:10 AM Learn to be happy. 21. I don't really see that as questioning her parenting skills, but I don't tend to over react to other people's questions and input. At 15 never having any space, how is the child supposed to figure things out on their own and grow as a person or learn responsibility. I see that as limiting their ability to survive on their own. As others stated, only 3 years until the kid is out on his own. That's a huge leap. Now if the OP and mother have never had time alone, how is she supposed to grow as a person and develop their relationship? What's going to happen to her when "her baby" moves out on his own? Granted we don't know the dynamics of the relationship, why the father isn't in the picture, if there is reason for her to not trust him. I think if the OP wasn't allowed to discuss the possibility of allowing the child to stay on his own for a couple of hours so they could go out and have some alone time after a few months, there may be other issues in that relationship, or maybe she just has her own trust issues. But hey, that's coming from someone who was watching his sister at 11 and fixing dinner (cooking for myself younger than that). I've also never dated a single mother, but I was a child in that situation. I'd have gone insane with that much supervision, but I also never sat at home playing video games all day. 22. Yeah, I tend to be the quiet guy, until people get to know me. But after that I can be the guy that doesn't shut the Fuck up sometimes (if you get me going about brewing). You don't necessarily have to be out going and vocal approaching everyone, but at least hang around the other jumpers. Otherwise it seems more like you are isolating yourself and people won't go out of their way to interact with you then. Once people start recognizing you they will interact with you more realizing you are the shy type if that's what it takes. Beer usually helps after the jumping is done. Not all DZ's are friendly tho, some do have their cliques which are hard to get into. But if the DZ is larger enough (which usually facilitates the cliques) there will be other jumpers that aren't locals who will be a bit more friendly than the local crowd. It can be hard and intimidating interacting with new people. Not knowing what to say or how to say it, but as long as you are genuine and honest you really won't find to many people that are difficult to get along with. Most skydivers I know are willing to accept people with their faults as long as they don't go around being superficial and pretending to be something else. Talk to the instructors or ask manifest to direct you to someone who can help you. Once you develop your skills it will be easier. All you have to do then is ask to be on an organized load and you'll have no issues meeting people. Oh, and just to keep this somewhat on track with the original post: I learned static line and kept reaching across with my left hand to pull. After a couple times I talked with an instructor who had a similar problem and told me it was probably because I was used to practicing the EP's (using a SOS system. Single ripcord, cutaway and reserve). After that no more reaching with my left hand. I don't remember if I was reaching with both hands for the ripcord as with going for the silver handle. 23. Check here http://www.dropzone.com/safety/Disciplines/Relative_Work/index.shtml There are some good articles. There are a few of us talking about starting something next season. We have a few ideas for a fourth, but nothing set yet. I'm thinking of taking the advice of one of the articles and writing a contract to be signed by all members. Setting baseline rules and commitments to the team. If you have people not willing to dedicate the time or some who see it more as a loose fun thing while others want the team to be serious competitors, there are going to be major issues. Also how would it be to have someone decide part way thru the season that they really can't commit financially to the training and now a couple weeks before a competition you need to find a new team member with skills to match the rest of the team. I think I need to get together soon so we can get ideas together, see what everyone is willing to commit to so we can all be ready for next season.. Also see who is willing to put more than one season into it. It will take more than one season to be decent. Learn to be happy. 24. Yeah, you would definately remember this rig. Green and navy blue tie with neon yellow trim tape (not as bad as it sounds. Really) I love the G4. You guys put out a nice container. I never experienced anything like that before I'm flying a Safire 2 159 loaded to 1.22 or so. Less than 50 jumps on it I think. I remember looking up and seeing a couple of the lines tighter than the rest. They were pulling the bottom skin down further at the attachment points. Everything seems to be in trim when flaking the canopy out. And it flies fine other than that one time. Learn to be happy. 25. Is there such a thing? I understand the dangers of potentially falling out of the harness if I were to induce a malfunction after loosening the chest strap. The thing is I had the harness resized (used rig) and had them install a longer chest strap. This is on a Mirage G4. I can loosen the chest strap all the way and it stays fairly tight with the three rings a few inches outside of my shoulders. I don't normally do this, but a few weeks ago I had noticed there wasn't slack in the chest strap when to where I normally loosen it, so I loosened it until there was no more left. When I gave anything more than slight toggle input (plenty of slack in the lines) the canopy would buffet like on the edge of a stall. I was below my hard deck, so I was taking it easy in the turns, then I thought for a second. I started dealing with traffic, so I don't really remember if the buffeting ceased. But it hasn't happened since. I don't remember seeing or hearing this anywhere. I was curious to see if anybody else has run into this. I'm in the middle of moving, so I don't have a tape handy (not anything I'd get anywhere near my rig anyway) but the strap goes from my wrist almost all the way to my shoulder or finger tip to a few inches past my elbow. Great measurement, I know. I've got a little more than 6 ft of 'wing span' if that gives you a better idea. So maybe 2 to 2.5 ft Learn to be happy.
