  1. Has anyone jumped there? I'm gonna be in Key West over Thanksgiving and it would be a shame to skip jumping over the Keys. Can anyone give me the lowdown on this place? Thanks!
  2. I took my 2 & 3 AFF there last weekend after being very disappointed with SDSD and their treatment of AFF students. Can't tell you how much different it was jumping from a small DZ. I felt welcome the moment I stepped through the door. When I walked in, everyone in the barn walked up and introduced themselves to me and welcomed me to Imperial. They fly a C182 which was new to me, but a blast at the same time. I hear there's a party going on over the weekend of 10/14, so if you're in the mood to jump and play, then would be a great weekend to go. Rumor has it that they're going to have a Caravan that weekend. It would be great if they had some business to at least pay for the cost of it! Anywho, to the staff at Imperial, thanks for making me feel at home. It was a nice feeling after jumping at SDSD. Like I said when I left on Sunday, it won't be soon enough before I'm out there again.
  3. I bought a new car in March. I washed it once since. The dealer has washed it 5 times so far. (Yeah, it's been in the shop 6 times).
  4. Do you have clear lenses or tinted? How does that work for you?
  5. Hey there. New to the sport and I'm looking for recommendations on goggles that can accommodate prescription lenses. I'm currently considering The Phoenix because of the ability to change lenses, but I also find Sport RX's G102 goggles appealing. Can anyone help a cherry out? Thanks!
  6. It was all that I thought it would be times 100! Pay attention in class, especially when they talk about emergency scenarios. But don't get hung up on that. Stepping out of the plane was the most harrowing moments, but I didn't hesitate or falter. The wind in your face at 100 mph was a shock, but not too bad. What was surprising was that even at 13000 feet, it didn't feel like falling. It was like floating or flying. Not falling. And watch the horizon when you come in for a landing. I flared about 40 feet up, held it, but still hit a bit hard. I'm sore from it today, but I know what I did wrong and will compensate for it next time. Most of all, remember to breathe! You will have an absolute blast! Have fun!!
  7. I did my AFF 1 yesterday at Otay. Oh my God was it a blast! It was hair-raising to step out, but couldn't get the shit-eating grin off of my face the entire time (yeah, I got the video and photos to prove it!) I'll be back in two weeks for AFF 2 & 3. Maybe 4 if I can swing the cost. Is there any place that can tell me what equipment I will need after certification? Yeah, consider me hooked.
