  1. Am I the first twin to reply? (I didn't read the entire thread) I have a twin brother! We are very close but live very different lives! I live in the country and wouldn't have it any other way......he lives in the heart of San Fransisco! I have been married for 22 years with two daughters.....he just celebrated his first anniversary and has no desire to have children at all! I started skydiving 10 years ago and he thinks I'm nuts!
  2. As the subject says, I am looking for a place to jump close to San Fransico that I can bring a couple tandems to as well as fun jump. I would love to hit up a balloon but not sure where to find one that I could also fun jump at once the balloon jump is done. So, where's the best place to go?
  3. A few years ago a guy on his CAT A has a cutaway over the Peanut Festival in VA. The main landed behind the tents and police surrounded it stating there was a "body" under the canopy. After convincing them that the skydiver landed safely under his reserve canopy back at the dz they sent the news crew over to interview him.....his nickname...Peanut!
  4. Welcome to the world of skydiving! Nice little DZ, I did a few jumps at Jerry's Skydiving Circus a few years back!
  5. Definitely do some jumps in Suffolk. I am a regular there and have been for 8 years! The staff is fantastic and very willing to train you in between your trips to Florida. You're pretty lucky that you get to travel to Florida for jumping during the winter! Have fun and hope to see you around!
  6. I am also a Suffolk jumper......see you around sometime!
  7. I am also a Virginia jumper! This sport is like nothing else! What dz are you planning on doing your first jump?
  8. He uses a human toilet?! Wow! He is a cutie for sure!
  9. Watching Wheel of Fortune tonight and the Riley family is playing. They said she is a skydiver. Is it anyone we know?
  10. Off topic......but Jerry's Skydiving Circus is a blast! I did not aim for the pea pit!
  11. Welcome to the sport! I have done a few jumps in Raeford and love it there! Have fun and Blue Skies!
  12. My daughter wears flip flops all year long......we are in VA and we do get a bit cold here. The bus driver mentioned to her one day that she will get frost bite....... My thought.....she is 14 and capable of watching the weather and choosing her clothes. I would prefer to tell her what is appropriate clothing (I don't want to see your bra through your shirt or butt cheek hanging out) rather then if she wears shorts or long pants. She is old enough to tell if she is cold or hot and will dress to keep herself comfortable. Schools are controlled but downtown offices and are usually very hot or cold....we don't go to school with them so they are the ones that know what is comfortable to wear. It really has nothing to do with how cool it is. She is never sick and never had frostbite! It's all good!
  13. I do have an issue with sitting on the couch all day long watching the world spin! You can hound them about that! But, seriously, it won't last forever. I got some slack because I started when my kids were young. Most of my "friends" I had before I started jumping are not "friends" anymore. My real friends, out of respect for them, talk about other stuff! It works out in the end!
  14. http://www.balloonskydive.com/ Try this site! Looks like they are operating there and seem to have jumps scheduled every weekend. Enjoy! My one and only balloon jump was in CA!
  15. Welcome to the forums and this amazing sport! I see you jump at Blue Ridge......been thinking about making a visit there sometime this fall!
  16. Just a coach with a GoPro on! Enjoy!
  17. You picked a great place to jump! Skydive Monroe ROCKS! Congrats and continue to jump safely!

My kids are still teens and the best way to find out things about their friends is to become friends with them! I should add that I never request them, they always friend request me! Once they do then I can view their photos and BAM! I am given the details of their life!
  19. http://shop.wscr.org Is this what you are looking for? Skydive Suffolk just had a group of ladies earn theirs this weekend!
  20. There is no reason that you should NOT go to another dz. I encourage students to jump with different people......different instructors teach things differently. Most people would be happy to have a dz open on the weekdays and a closer one on the weekends! Where are you located?
  21. I did my first tandem at 35 started AFF at 36! 42 now and almost 500 jumps! It has been a fun ride!
  22. Welcome to the forum and to the sky! The weather is warming up and it is almost time for some weekly skydiving!
  23. The bad thing is that they told you that your business didn't matter because you WILL be back. Like you didn't have a choice. I would go somewhere else if you had another DZ. The real problem will come in when you have to repeat a level because your were not current.
  24. Thanks for the feedback. Squeak, I guess my main question was the justification of having the GoPro 3 white if I already owned a GoPro2. Anyway, I returned the GoPro 3 white edition for the GoPro 3 black edition. Any pointers on setting would help.
