  1. Your page??? Did I miss something? Congrats on the tandem
  2. Only one jump, but it was a full altitude, something I haven't done in a while. I love hop & pops! I felt bad because we had a visiting jumper from back east named Harry who was looking for people to jump with, and I wasn't too sure about my belly skills after a couple of months off. Sorry Harry, I should have just jumped with you...my belly flying was fine. Hope he enjoyed his stay here! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.

  5. Cyniq, Dated, maybe so. I happen to enjoy the traditions and history of this sport. The history of skydiving anchors us jumpers in the new century. But to respond to your observations: 1. Who cares if someone wants to wear pink and teal madras? If they like it, shouldn't that be enough? I see far too much black skydiver wear at my DZ...colors are good! 2. Show me a new, affordably priced twin turbine that can be used for skydiving ops. The fact is that King Airs and Otters especially are build tough and serve well as jump a/c. That they are available at a price so that DZO's can stay in business is even better. What's old is new again: 3. Boogie, BSBD, etc are all part of the history of the sport. Feel free to create your own jargon and traditions, but don't be surprised if some of us non-trendy oldsters make fun of you. And yes, some of us also still use "gnarly", "groovy", "rad", or "bitchin"... Seriously, do you really want to give up history such as beer rules, 100 jump pies/naked jumps, or A stamps on the forehead? The fact is that youngsters to the sport (myself included), can learn a lot from the folks who've been around a while. If you can get past the way they talk and dress, you may find something in what they say that adds to your enjoyment of the sport, or it may keep you alive. As for me, I would really enjoy jumping rounds some day (even better if it was from a DC-3 or Beech 18!), just because a lot of the folks I respect here and DZ's I've visited jumped them back when the sport was still young. I'd like to connect the past from the present. Plus, I think it would be a lot of fun, which is the whole point of skydiving, no? Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.

  10. Why "angrypeppers"? I kinda wanted a domain name that is a bit unusual, and easy to remember. .com was already taken, as were a few others I considered. One night, I was listening to some System of a Down - Chic N Stu, and they were singing about pizza ("pepperoni and green peppers mushrooms olives chives"). To my twisted brain, "and green peppers" sounded like "angrypeppers". Angrypeppers.com was available, so I grabbed it. It's easy for me to remember, and a good conversation starter. My web site is in dire need of an update, but it's mine! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  11. I ride with my gear bag bungee'd tightly to the rear seat and rack, with a net for the helmet bag. Might have to try holding on to the PC for emergency braking situations though. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  12. Thanks for the info and advice! Squeaks is doing fine now, the urinary tract symptoms have gone away. I'm still not convinced there's not some underlying problem though. His kidneys and blood checked out OK, but we still can't get a urine sample. If I can't get one from him in the morning, he'll be spending the day at the vet's office so they can collect one. 13. We got Squeaker last winter from a local shelter. He's about six or seven years old as far as the shelter could tell. Fairly big cat, about sixteen pounds or so. He had conjunctivitis when we brought him home, but was healthy otherwise. Now, about every eight weeks, he gets a urinary tract infection. Starts out with him peeing in places he shouldn't, and then the diarrhea starts. When we take him to the vet, they give him two weeks worth of Clavamox, and he's fine. The Clavamox seems to clear him up in a day or two, but we always give him the full treatment. We've had him to two different vets so far, with the same treatment. What's also strange is that neither vet was able to find his bladder to get a urine sample, so we're kinda flying blind. I'm wondering if there may be some other cause of the UTI that neither vet has found yet? Sound familiar to anyone? Squeaks is an indoor/outdoor (outdoors for a few hours when we're home) cat, so I don't know if he's eating something outside that may be causing the problems...some type of parasite maybe? I'm taking him to a third vet tomorrow, but would appreciate any help from here... Thx! Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  14. Well, I guess I'll have to show off my rig: Icon I6, Pilot210, Smart190, Cypres2...all born in July2005. Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  15. I just went to the site, and it works fine for me. No delays, or HD sounding busy. I'm running a six year old PC with WinXP, SP2, and a gig and a half of RAM. YMMV... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.

  18. I love my V-Strom. I rode about 150 miles yesterday up in the mountains, and it has lots of hp and torque, even at altitude. The 50 mpg doesn't hurt either. It's really the perfect bike for me... Bolas, the Honda Nighthawks are fairly good starter bikes. And consider buying used...you WILL drop your bike! 19. Here's my compromise: 2008 Suzuki V-Strom 650. More street bike than offroad. Plenty of power for two up touring, even here in Colorado. And has a bit more ground clearance than say a SV-650, so mild off road isn't a problem. Needs some knobbies though... Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
  20. The thought of having Hillary for a VP makes me queasy. I don't like the woman, no scratch that, I loathe the woman. Not personally...never met her. But from what I've seen over the last however many months, I think she's be a horrific choice for Obama. Sure, she got a lot of votes; good for her. But I'm not sure she would be able to sit back and do the job without overshadowing Obama. What would she really bring to the table that would help the Dems that someone like Bill Richardson couldn't? Or is this just a case of the media trying to push something to keep people watching/reading? Burn the land and boil the sea, You can't take the sky from me.
