  1. My basic track is fine, heading-great, distance-good, but keeping realitive during a tracking dive is tough! Can anyone send me links, tips, tricks, etc on how to really improve my ability to keep realitive work during a tracking dive? My end goal is to start jumping wingsuits, so most of my jumps are tracking dive right now ... *now i'm off to the DZ!!! Thanks!!
  2. You will be forever missed, our thoughts are with your friends and loved ones - blue skies my friend.
  3. Mirage is awesome, I received an email today explaining all of the details to our situation and long story short we got the problem resolved… thank you everyone for you help!
  4. What I do not understand is that we’ve already tried packing two different Pilot 150 canopies into this container, my wife’s which was manufactured around June 07 and the Pilot 150 rental from Square 1 that must have been manufactured prior to Dec 2006. – They both seem to fit the d-bag correctly but neither of them fit into the container. So you see why I really don’t think this is a random bulk issue with one canopy – if that is the case the Pilot 150 has had a larger than expected pack volume for the last 10-months and I would imagine that they would not fit into the d-bag correctly – maybe you can help me understand this a little better. We also noticed that the main tray seemed noticeably smaller when visually compared to my container – this might be because it is a ‘short’ but please help me understand this too. The bottom line is that it’s been 5-weeks now and we still don’t have a solution on the table, I think it’s more than reasonable for me to ask that we have a solution by the end of this week. Thanks for your time and attention to this matter; you guys make a great container so please help us get this resolved as timely as possible. - Ron
  5. I want to start by saying that my Mirage G4 container ordered a few months ago is awesome! I absolutely love everything about it and would tell anyone getting new gear to seriously consider Mirage; now here is the kicker… I ordered two containers, one for myself and one for my wife. Our containers were to fit a Pilot 150, we are nearly the same size but for some reason her container is a “short”. Now the problem is that her container simply doesn’t fit a Pilot 150 (this is not my opinion, it’s a fact from several packers at Perris Valley as well as the manager of the gear store). It took four weeks to make this container and have it shipped to us; we’ve been waiting FIVE WEEKS to get it fixed. My understanding is that it’s going back and forth between Aerodyne (our canopy manufacture) and Mirage (our containers manufacture). Any ideas or suggestions??? Thanks all! - Ron
  6. Hey Everyone... My wife and I both have about 70 jumps and are looking to buy a new container that will fit a 150. We are having a hard time deciding but right now we are looking at buying a Javelin, Mirage or Infinity. Everything I've read sounds like personal opinions or brand loyalty. What I am looking for is the most innovative, best performing (for freeflying, wingsuits and RW - dont want flaps opening, etc), and most comfortable containers. Who is staying ahead of the pack? Who has thought of the little things that make life easier (and safer)? Do we need to have the skyhook? etc... Thanks for your help (and advice)!
  7. Yes, the $1,000 goes towards the gear. But the $100 a month fee does not. However, you can put down a bigger deposit (ie. $4K) and then you have no monthly fee for 6 months, then $50/month fee after the 6th month. Thanks for your help!
  8. I’m a new skydiver with 16 jumps and looking for some gear buying advice. My drop zone has a demo program where I can put $1,000 down towards new gear. Then pay $100/ month and have unlimited rentals, sampling all of the different canopy’s & containers. But I must promise to buy new gear (reserve, main, and container [about $5-6K in total]) at some point in the future, when I know exactly what I want. I figure I would demo and sample gear for at least a year or 150 – 200 jumps. I plan on jumping at least once a week. Currently it cost $75 a day to rent. What do you think??

  10. Hey everyone, I'm doing a redo of aff no.5 tomorrow, i kinda freaked out and got way unstable for the entire fall (it was 25 days after aff no.4) . Does anyone have any advice on how to get my confidence back and have fun again? the first 4 jumps were SO much fun, but i'd have to say no.5 was kinda hairy, i'm still a bit freaked. Thanks - Ron
