  1. Perris was well organized and quick on the load turn arounds. The facilities were nice, good store, good bar, good staff.

The organizational staff were awesome, freindly and keen to jump. If there was planes going up, people were jumping, not standing around.

    The only Cons:

The tickets are a bit pricey compared to other DZ's in the area.

The LZ had a small grass strip which worked for the experienced jumpers but I saw students landing quite hard in the dirt bowl area as the ground was hard and bumpy after it dried out. students would hit rises in the dirt and tumble.

Overall a great place and i will definately be back.

  2. Bill was really helpful and freindly. He obviously likes the sport.

The dz itself was well run, lots of loads and keen jumpers. Oh, yeah, and CHEAP jump prices.

The only issues were how dirty the main hanger was, specifically all the dust that had not been cleaned in months if not the entire year and one staff member who was quite rude. That being said he seemed to be rude to everyone who was not a student of tandem passenger.

Over all everyone was quite freindly and just liked to jump.

  3. The location is amazing, just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa and Gatineau/Hull. When i first arrived the people were quite friendly, one of the regular jumpers gave us a tour of the facilities, the LZ, etc. After a quick manifest, we were in the air. The aircraft clibs quickly for a cessna. The view of the Ottawa river and downtown Ottawa is cool. The jump step is nice and wide. lots of open area to land in if you get in trouble. Over all a good place to jump.

  4. My experience of the ranch started off as a negative one.

As a result of my rigger not filling in the reserve pack date, I had to rent a rig from the pro-shop. No big deal.

However, when I went into the pro-shop, they could not do a re-pack, then the woman who was trying to help us was not very knowledgeble on what was required.

Once the guy showed up we got our rigs and were on our way.

The jumping is cheap at $20 a jump, that rocked.

Sitting on the floor is a bit uncomfortable versus the side bench system in most otters.

The russian were good at giving out pointers and doing a few jumps with.

Overall on our first day we were ignored by the locals so we just did our thing.

On saturday evening the place was deserted by the time we got back from supper, ah well, we had brought a few cases.

Sunday was a different story. Once people realized we were there for a few days, they warmed up. On the group we started swapping stories while re-packing and waiting for loads.

Some more people came in from NY City and we went to do a nice 10-way.

Overall, even with all the mud from the pooled water (it had rained afew days before) It was a good experience and I plan on going back as, even with all the driving, it is a good enough price to more then compensate for it.

Once the new hanger is finished the facilities will be large and very nice.

    Blue skies.
