  1. http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/brochure.pdf I've found this one interresting but I'm having problem decoding the information. For instance: Turns: Smooth (Silhouette), Steady (Navigator), Responsive (Pulse, Katana, Sabre2, Storm), Fast (Stiletto, Lightning), Conservative (Spectre, PDR, Optimum), Agressive (Velocity, Velocity Comp) How would you order those terms into something that makes sense? I've been flying Spectre and PDR and the turns were more responsive on PDR on nearly the same WL. Same thing for Handling ... how would you make sense of what handling is and how would you order the terms into something that makes sense? Easy (Silhouette, Pulse, Storm, Spectre), Conservative (Navigator), Responsive (Stiletto), Aggressive (Katana, Velocity, Velocity Comp), Advanced (Sabre2), Predicatable (PRD, Optimum), Tricky (Lightning) And for this 2 guys: Flare: Good (Silhouette, Spectre, PDR), Great (Navigator, Sabre2, Storm), Deep Finish (Katana), Powerful (Velocity, Velocity Comp), Incredible (Optimum), Weak (Lightning) Recovery Arc: Short (Silhouette, Pulse, PDR, Optimum, Lightning), Quick (Navigator, Stiletto), Quite Long (Katana), Medium Long (Sabre2), Medium (Storm), Medium short (Spectre), Long (Velocity, Velocity Comp) Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  2. Thanks Tonto for the canopy advice you gave me back in the day. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  3. Here is something that reminds me of this, that I do and I'm not completly sure if it's good or bad: Sometimes, not that often, I turn to final with a sharp 90 turn. This takes me into a roller coster of air speed as I surf and drop (50 feet higher than the ground). After the turn my canopy dives and it picks up speed. Then as it level off, it loses speed to a speed lower then the normal flight speed and here it begins to drop to pick up speed. In the lower air speed zone, when it begins to drop, I feel that canopy is being "mushy" and not loaded as normal (the system doesn't feel rigid). To avoid going into the "lower than normal" airspeed I pump the brakes (for less than 1 sec at ears level) close to the highest air speed point. This way I see that my wing will not level off and then lose airspeed and then drop to be mushy and I kinda feel that the entire system is more rigid as I never go to lower than normal airspeed. I've attaced a picture with how I imagine the entire thingy. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  4. I really like instructors like you and Ron. Wise minds. I think you guys teach the love of skydiving. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!

  6. They do autopsy for a skydiving case? Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  7. If on dz.com we would have an "I like it" button for every post (like on youtube for movies) than know sir that I would click that button for your post! Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  8. I see a kid that grown up to die as a direct result of the believes that were impose on him. And few guys believing that they are different. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  9. It makes sense when you factor in, your perception. I can give you a personal example For a long time I did longboard but I didn't do downhill. I enjoyed being on the board. Without knowing while I was browsing/playing in the confort "zone", I was creating skills that would serve me in the next "zone". After this time, when I've went faster that I could run-out on my longboard for the 1st time, I was pushing a personal limit but it was safe due to the nature of the hill, the longboard and my real skills. Does it makes any sense? Never mind, I'll post this anyway. [Edit to add] I'll edit it just because is cool to edit stuff Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  10. I'll just put this in the air movies about how to evaluate your real skill level, how to be safe while pushing the limits. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  11. Just to mention something that most people don't know and it is important > CSPA's third party liability insurance is $2,000,000 In the entire world, international!!!!! Sometimes when you travel to Spain, for instance, from some other countries you are obligated to buy a local third party insurance because your insurance doesn't cover international damages. Please correct if I'm wrong because I want to verify if I'm right! Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  12. Uhhhhh I see exactly what you mean! Indeed after the 1st hit you will figured out! Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  13. So if he didn't knew that his GF is in the house I can somehow understand. Fear of someone entering your house can make you imagine that unknown "someone" - that just sneaks in the dark with weird intentions - a very threat full person and then, with anger, you just dedicate yourself to one idea: Neutralize the threat! Anger like fear is very very immersible. Meaning your entire attention goes to one scope. Mother nature wanted it to be this way! Thanks Mom! Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!

    First solid sit

poor baby, looking for love on dz.com and crash by an asshole. The drama, the tragedy, will he make it? ... heck you'll be fine. Just listen to what that guy who has 5000 jumps said (I've forget his name but I will re-edit this post to place his name here: Dutton). AA is a problem in FF no matter what you write here. Edit as I've promised. Edited once more just to place this redundant line. Edit to add: track on back is an important thingy. Its not cool but it's important for separation. First solid sit

LOL I've been caught by the beep while doing FF with people. Here people jump with 2 auditives. solid sit includes skillz like: front-back movement, side move, stand, duffy, side docks, front docks, double docks, track on the back. How's your back BTW? Congrats on your solid sit jump and good job feeding that ego of yours. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  16. > If one really enjoys the free fall and canopy time Skydiving is for fun! We're full of fly savy people that only love their cool image. I pee on them from a 180 twist on landing as I flare with some lines I grab from over the twist. That's fun! They get pissed off when I do that and I find that verry funny because they've just been pissed on. Stay safe and remember:whenever you do things for the others you'll end up being disappointed! Sings to himself: Ba pa ru ba ... da ba ... ru ba .. ba pa. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  17. > When I try to put the excess brake line through the elasticized nylon band that's sewn onto the risers, it often frays as it is really hard to push through there. I use a power tool or packer boy to stow the excess brakes on wings. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  18. http://www.bpa.org.uk/doc_uploads/ellipticalleblanc.pdf Not sure if is in any way helpfull but is something that comed in my mind when I've seen this subject. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!

  20. Large Metal & Small Metal. Found the small easy to get as well! Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  21. I see what you mean. I had 1 hard opening and now I'm keeping an open eye to everything related. To whom might be interested I've run across this little doc http://www.performancedesigns.com/docs/hrdopn.pdf I've identify by packing a lot and opening each pack job on the ground that the way I pack moves down the slider down 1-2 inches. I've address this thing. I'm using reverse s folds. But now, I've realized that my line stows are not holding 8 pounds. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  22. > One example that I've experienced when I was a brand-new jumper (living proof that even a moderately loaded Spectre can spank you) is being head low on deployment. The resulting "pendulum" as your body swings back up can be somewhat more violent than a stable opening. It wasn't "break bones" violent, but I wound up with a good riser smack and was seeing stars for a couple of seconds. Did the spectre inflated fast or it snivel and then open up as usual? Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  23. - Check your spot and refuse to jump if you don't like it. Ask your instructors "how would you check your spot if you were me?". - say "catch you later" to peer pression. - Kill your ego. Prefer to be wrong and well than right and injured. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
  24. In my little book, if you can go on with your life as normal as before is not a hard opening. I had one opening that made me sleep in pain and walk funny for 2 days. Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!

    Next step after AFF?

Hey man, most rentals are not freefly friendly. Also, without knowing playing with free-fly you might slide into the next group. Go tracking alone and see how much you travel. Just track perpendicular to the jump run. FF also involve hybrids Lock, Dock and Two Smoking Barrelrolls!
