  1. NeedtoJump, you are entitled to your opinion and you ARE right about the recovery arc however I'm talking about altitude loss WHILE in a toggle turn. The recovery arc usually comes after the turn.
  2. I agree with you on this one Diablo. However, what does a punk swooping a velo 90 loaded 2:1 have to do with a responsible adult on a Stiletto 190 loaded at less than 1.2? I would like to know where you are coming from here. I want to make it clear now that I'm not particularly arguing with you I am mostly just playing devil's advocate. Experience doesn't save lives it just keeps you out of trouble therefore you might not die. Stupidity, like the punk on the velo, will kill you.
  3. Hmmm Diablo. I see what you mean. But I don't see the facts of your friends incident. I guess nobody ever figured out what happened to him? I'm not sure what to make of your argument. I'm sure it's a good one though. Looks like you've been around awhile.
  4. I don't understand the big deal here. I started jumping a Stiletto 190 at 85 jumps after the previous jumps on a Sabre 2 190. It really isn't THAT much different. We are not talking about a stiletto 120 here..come on. It isn't any faster than a Sabre 2, has a better flare and opens much softer. the only difference is in the turns: a bit more responsive and you lose a bit more altitude. The "Spin-etto" thing is ridiculous. In fact i have had more line twists in the Sabre than the Stiletto. You don't have to fly it like a bat out of hell either. What's wrong with a nice easy straight in landing? Just be prepared if you have to make a last minute turn to avoid an obstacle. I know Jee. He is an exellent canopy pilot and actually flys and lands much better than jumpers with over 1000 jumps and more.......every single time. I'm sure also it helps that he has thousands of hours flying the bush in the Yukon and Alaska. No doubt that transfers over. He's a leader too, not a follower. I'll put my $20 on jee also. Having lots of jumps doesn't really mean much especially on a forum. Neither do credentials. The proof is in the bite not the bark. I watched Jee jump the Stiletto 190 this past weekend. That's where I saw the bite. Ciao
  5. apparently typical isn't safe. i don't think it's whether you can sit fly or not. it's about safety. and my personal opinion is there is no way you can be safe in the tunnel in a sit after only 10 minutes. you see the fans must be turned up very high in order to support a person in the sit postion. corking at a high fan speed would be very dangerous. the idea is you MUST be comfortable on your back FIRST because if you lose your sit that is where you MUST go so you don't cork. obviously the weight and density of the flyer is also a consideration the heavier the person the more power required. my advice is if you are sitting after only 10 minutes stop now and go back to the basics first. be safe. i think jee is on the right track and my bet is he is getting some good responsible coaching. normiss...BE SAFE.
  6. thanks for the penny bigun. and you're right, i should fill out my profile shoudn't i? oh..i forgot to mention in my last post i'm not considered "big" by any stretch of the imagination. but then again all things are relative are they not? and i am in TEXAS where everything is b...........ok ok ... i'll stop now. just get out and jump! ciao
  7. dude you're not as big as you think you are. i am 6'0" and 250 with about 6% body fat. i jump a safire 189. eric butts is 6'4" and weighs 270. he jumps a cobolt 120. i never take my shirt off or wear a sleeveless shirt. dressing like that is very uncool. i hope you don't either. as far as jumpsuits go the only way to go is deep arms, almost to the waist some call this an angel wing, baggy legs and ZP lining in both the arms and the legs. poly cotton is ok and seems slower but it looks like crap. supplex is much nicer to look at and is also more comfortable. nobody falls faster then me and with this jumpsuit i can fall with my woman who is a petite 110LBS. i you go with a bev rw suit you can also get afterburners in the legs. these kind of inflate when you're on you belly and work to slow you down as well. ciao
  8. I've got hundreds of freefly jumps and several hours of tunnel time on my kurupee and it has held up much better than my freakin suit. so i wouldn't say i would not buy a freakin suit but i would for sure buy a kurupee again any day.......go figure.
  9. i ordered my first ff suit from kurupee and everything was perfect. it shipped a few days earlier than promised and i was kept up to date on production and shipping in a very professional manner. my second suit a month or so later was a bit more complicated with several special requests including a zero p lining in the arms and the legs. not only was the second suit just as perfect as the first one but i wasn't charged anything extra for the lining or my special need for deep cut arms. i am ordering another suit for my girlfriend today and i will be ordering a pair of ff pants soon. thanks eddie for sending a great product.
