  1. I know man but did you need to call me francis. EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  2. I think that is by far the most retarded statement that I have ever heard anyone say EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  3. I figured it was from when I opened into line twists but when they asked me what had happened they said that it should not have happened from a hard opening with line twists EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  4. This goes out to all the Wings owners out there. While I was at Z-Hills jumping I was on the ground gathering my canopy and I noticed that the flap that holds the hard housing for the cutaway cable had started to come unstitched on both sides. Luckily, I was only a 5 minute drive to the Wings factory. I showed them what had happened to the risers and there response was "that shouldn't happen" I was okay about it but the cool thing was that they made me a set of new risers at no cost to me. Scarlett was very helpful during my visit. I was a little dismayed about the answer I recieved on what may have caused the unstitching but they were at least very nice about replacing my risers Now my question is has this happened to anybody else with the risers on the wings container EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  5. Hey guy I was in Afghanistan all last year and I know what it is like so stay safe and when you get home enjoy all your jumps EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  6. Up until last week I had only heard of flatpacking. I was curious are there any benefits to one or the other or are they fairly equal in terms of positives and negatives. I was just curious because he was just going at it and I was just shocked at how weird it looked. Oh and by the way I finally figured out what those tabs are for on top of the canopy EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  7. I am gonna try to be there for Saturday and some of Sunday. It is a decent drive from NC EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  8. I will definitely be there and will there be chances of doing smaller 4ways or just the bigways??? Either way I am gonna be there EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  9. hell yeah I am gonna be there. I just got back from Afghanistan and I requested that time off specifically. So how do we go about becoming part of Team Dirty Sanchez??? EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  10. Sid you are correct in that I am a little low on my jumps to be at 1.2 WL. Even those at the DZ agree that I am loading a little high but they have all said that for such low numbers I have a fairly good grasp of canopy control. I have 93 jumps now and I am still getting to know my canopy but I am pretty good at returning from a long spot. I may not be in the pea pit but I am at least about 30-40 feet from the pit or at least in the landing area. I definitely notice the difference in input response from when I jump my Spectre 210 and when I jump my Sabre2 190. I am definitely not moving from this WL any time soon. I am still losing weight so my WL is definitely getting lower as I lose the weight. So when I reach 195 lbs I will be closer to 1/1 than I am right now EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  11. Yes you will notice that as you get higher in WL the faster response time with toggle input. I fly a Sabre2 190 and load it at about 1.21/1 and what I have noticed is that the canopy will respond faster but that 1% that you don't stand up will hurt a little more at 1.2 but even at that WL the canopy is still a little forgiving Gut hey that it just my opinion EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  12. Have you ever thought about Tony Suits. I mean I went straight to the company when I was in Z-Hills and they were kind enuf to measure me for my suit. I suppose they may have what you are looking for EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  13. Dude, just remember that if the person wants you to pay them before you or a rigger looks at it then remember that is a scam!!! EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  14. Hey bro, I have 2 rigs. My first rig is an old VectorII dated 04-12-93 it has a few maods on it as far as to make it safer to fly. I have added bridle protection as well as the velcro flaps are replaced and I have a bunjee cord attaching the legstraps so they won't slip. But, let me tell you even though I have all that added security I will not do anything other than RW when jumping this rig. The reserve in it is an old PARA-FLITE Swift Plus 175 with a DOM of 10/91. I also have no RSL or AAD but I am completely fine with that. The only thing that is fairly new is my canopy and that is a Spectre210 with a DOM 03/2003. I made some sacrifices with this rig but it is still airworthy so I jump it when I am not jumping my new gear. But, I am very interested in Freeflying so my new Wings will be what I will have to use when I start learning. All in All remember this. Just because it is old technology does not mean it still is not airworthy. Hell my Friend Hippy still jumps his Falcon from time to time as well as some people still jump hornets and diablos. They are old but PPL still like them. Hope this helps. I also attached a pic of my old VectorII EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  15. Hey man I just got back from Afghanistan 2 weeks ago and while I was over there last year I ordered all my stuff from Joannie at Sunshine Factory. I had gotten a WINGS container at the 50% off discount. I tell you though I have jumped it about a dozen times since I have been back and I have the upgraded backpad and legpads as well as the cutin laterals. I must say that it is very comfortable. I mean at first the rig is a little stiff but after about 5 jumps it started to loosen up a bit. I truly believe that it is a great container. It took me a few packjobs to get use to the fact that the closing loops is located on the bottom of the reserve container but all is well now. I also went with all PD canopies and I recieved 25% off of my Sabre2 190 as well as my PDReserve 176. The only companies that do not offer a discount for the military are the AAD manufacturers. But, with my Wings container, Sabre2, PDReserve and my VIGIL2 AAD as well as the options I had gotten I had payed 5437.46 and that included the inspection, assembly and reserve repack. I enjoy everything I bought and it was well worth it so I hope you have fun on deciding what to get EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  16. I recently visited Z-hills for Superbowl weekend and I must say that I was really throwm for a loop. The atmosphere of the place was outstanding. Although they were a huge DZ I never felt as if they were just trying to take my money. There were alot of ppl that were willing to do whatever. there were plenty of people who wanted to make different formations. As far as planes go, even though they only reall had the otters to jump they at least had 2 flying back to back for most of the day. The staff were very professional and friendly as well. I had to do a recurrency and coach jump and my instructor Mark was very helpful. I happened to have been there for Superbowl Sunday and they had their own Superbowl Party. The only downside is that I had to pay for my own beer but hey the food was rocking and the atmosphere was grt. Another thing that was cool was that there were a few guys who used to jump back in the day and had a DVD of jumps he had done for companies and there commercials. I wish they had a bunkroom you could sleep in but all in all it was a great place to jump and the weather was great all weekend long. I would recommend Z-hills to anyone.
  17. I like the optima I have but also the Alti-2 Neptune is also a very good audible to use EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  18. As far as the Vector2 goes I already knew and understand that it is not freefly friendly. I am not worried about freeflying right now with my low numbers. I am more worried about getting my canopy skills improved in order to be able to move onto other such venues in the sport. I one day may try my hand at freeflying but until then belly is good for me EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  19. I already bought a new wings container but I am gonna use the V2 during canopy and landings improvement period so when I eat a little dust I won't be too upset if it gets dirty EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  20. I have talked to the rigger and it has had several mods have been done to the rig so it will be more free fly friendly. Although I am using this rig to work on my canopy skills since I will have a Spectre 210 in it. But as I progress I will be moving to my wings container which is freefly friendly EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  21. Hello All, My question goes out to all the Vector2 owners in the Community. I am looking into getting a Vector2 container and it was inspected by a rigger and was told that the container itself has only about 400 jumps on it. Although it is relatively old I was told that it still has a feww more years of jumps left in it. I want to know what other jumpers who omw a Vector2 think about the container EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  22. WELL RIGHT NOW IT IS wet, muddy and cold due to the fact that we are in the monsoon season right now and everything freezes at night because it get cold as hell and it also snow and sleets outside as well as rain for days on end EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  23. Well everyone, I am returning back to the states in less than a month after a year long deployment to Afghanistan. I know I will be returning to NC and it will be damned cold but at this point I really don't care because I have been without skydiving for a whole year and i am ready to jump right into jumping out of planes for the sheer thrill. and then it is off to the boogies when I am able to. EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  24. Hey man I am in the ARMY and when I get my lunchbreak I like to go to the gym and lift weights and then go back to work. I don't take a shower but I don't tell anyone I went without a shower. Don't pay them any mind you at least want to keep your body lookin good. Next time just don't tell them if they don't even ask EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
  25. I am about to purchase a triathlon 220 with a DOM of 1999 and I was wondering if there was anyone out there who knows the packing volume of the canopy. I have an old Vector2 V4.5 and I want to know for sure if it will fit EXPECT THE WORST, HOPE FOR THE BEST!!!
