  1. Really? My birth control is $80/month!!! Luckily my insurance pays for half of it, but I have friends who aren't so lucky! If that's the case and I have no reason to doubt you then what makes it someone else's responsibility to pay for you to have the sex life you desire to have? Since pregnancy is not a sickness or Disease then why should the prevention thereof be paid for by the rest of us? I guess along the same lines so as not to discriminate should employers be required to subsidize condoms? I still like the statement "The problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other peoples money".
  2. There you go with those pesky facts. You know how it makes the anti's mad when you do that.
  3. Why must there be a plan on how to deal with it? Here's my plan: scrap EMTALA. Then, leave it to the individual states. Want public health care? Move to Massachusetts. That's what the federal system allows. Other states can do what Massachusetts does. And if a person in Massachusetts doesn't like it then that person can go someplace else. On the same note, what is the Democrats' proposal for the tens of millions who will lose plans that they like? What are the Democrats' plans for the millions of people who will be unisured 30 days from now? What are the Democrats' proposals for lowering the cost of healthcare in the US? I ask this because the Democrats have just created a shitload of new problems in their effort to fix a problem that was created in significant part by government fixes to problems. Fundamentally, your post recognizes that the ACA is a broken law with deeply flawed execution. Kinda what those of us opposed to it said it would be. About what the liberal media hasn't uncovered; "If you like it you can keep it.". That was shown to be false. So the President decided on another policy to make it so that if you like it you can still keep it. Until September, 2015 at the latest. So you can't keep it. Nope. Not gonna happen unless the President decides again to delay implementation of this law. There are, indeed, big problems with this law. Some believe that the problems are worse than what it set out to fix. Others disagree. Your question is like, "has any lineral proposed an alternative to the problem of having a strong military?" Or, "has any civil libertarian addressed how we can be secure from terrorism without NSA snooping and warrantless wiretaps?" It's an indication that the value system itself is the issue. A civil libertarian says, "danger is the cost of freedom." The other side is that "security is worthy to sacrifice liberty." You believe that the millions of uninsured are a bigger problem than government commanding everybody to purchase something or be fined. I disagree - I think that a command economy is an inherent evil, even if I already have the product. Those viewpoints cannot be reconciled. I could ask, "What plan to the Democrats have to prevent the economic damage caused by forcing people to pay for insurance or get fined?" Many Democrats don't see that as a problem so much as an intended consequence. +1
  4. It really is sad to see anyone insult someone's faith just because they don't happen to share those beliefs. but not as bad as requiring all of your employees to share your beliefs. I don't see that as the case. I see a company who is providing their employees who are free to seek employment elsewhere a health plan that corresponds to their beliefs. Up until the ACA came into existence no employer was required to provide health care In reality business would be better off giving the employers share of health care to the employee and they can go buy their own. Birth control is not expensive the liberal community is just using it as a way to divide. This whole thing is a mess. Should employers be required to provide health care that covers elective surgery like cosmetic procedures or sex changes if they don't agree? The only way I see someone forcing something on someone is if they are not free to leave (kind of like the business who can't just walk away) now that is having something forced on someone. During my entire carrier I moved on if I worked somewhere that did things I objected to. Nobody forces something on me if I find it objectionable. These business's obviously want to provide health care to employees, if they are forced to I fact cover something that violates their ethics and they stop providing and drop coverage all together I couldn't say I blamed them.
  5. It really is sad to see anyone insult someone's faith just because they don't happen to share those beliefs. And they say the faithful and the conservatives are close minded. I never begrudge someone their faith short of killing innocent people or blowing up children. Just sad
  6. Violence, no matter the ethnicity of the perpetrator is wrong. The problem I see within the black community is they get a pass from the media and politicians out of fear of being tagged a racist. This lets the Yutes feel as though there is no consequence for their actions. Combine that with the prevalence of the likes of the race baiting Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton prompting the black community to turn on whitie it's no wonder we have polar bear hunting (knock out game) going on. I watched Oprah say old white racist's have to just die off. While that may be correct how do we stop the racism being bred into the black youth of the country? Sad situation.
  7. They probably figure if the new black panthers can do it then they can too.
  8. If it were a jack screw then it would have been a jammed horiz. stab not elevator which adds another twist to the story. Remember the Alaska Air MD-80 that crashed into the Pacific off the coast some years back? Damaged H-stab jackscrew and jammed stab. Would still say that all the stars would have to be aligned to pull it off.
  9. It's been said that enacting gun laws to control violence is like trying to stop drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to buy cars.
  10. Have not jumped in years but I was D license qualified though never followed through and got it. As far as Pilot yes plus A&P I/A, and flight engineer. Been round the block in aviation.
  11. I quit jumping years ago but used to love jumping with inexperienced jumpers. If the experienced jumpers take themselves so seriously I would just say don't jump with them.
  12. 25 years ago I started jumping while in the navy and had no problems. There was even a jump club on base.
