  1. Awesome reserve, best reserve that i flown so far.
Deep flair stroke, I can be in full arm length and still sink it down without stalling it. Which come in handy when chasing stuff down.

Compare to similar pack volumed Smart 120 this is much superior canopy. Less twitchy when flying, does not stall out, and it is bigger.

What I love is how it packs, very easy packing, it will crawl into the free bag by it self, rigger should give you discount on pack job because it is that easy. Easy packing means better pack job. better pack job= better opening.

I have two rig and I'm selling my other Smart this year just to buy another OP 143.

  2. I wish control lines were lengthened by an 1 1/2 inches or so.
While chasing my stuff down in deep breaks I felt it stall for a moment, however I do have freakishly long arms and I use 26 inch risers.

If you have normal arm length you should be alright.

Used Smart 175 at 1.2 and Smart 120 at 1.75. I would not wanna load this thing more than 1.9, and that is just a personal opinion.

  3. They improved somewhat from an original FX. First impression of the canopy is its opening, not much snivel yet soft.

Unlike FX this one does not have to be packed meticulously.

And during opening wing stays more directly over the head vs JVX

Flight characteristic doesn't seem to be too far away from FX. JFX almost flys the same, but with slightly deeper range on the rear riser. Fronts are slightly lighter than FX but not by much.

I've flown both JFX and JVX in a same size, and JFX dives little bit more deeper, but still not as deep as velo, and all the input feels whippier than jvx.

I don't understand why people will bother with JFX, if you are ready to fly this wing why not get a JVX??? JVX opens fine for the work jumps, and I'm pretty sure that with line twist JFX will dive you to the ground hard as much as JVX.

  4. Flys like super crossfire. Flat glide with very crisp rear riser action.
Heavy front riser stays heavy and gets heavier, not for those girly arms.

Most of the opening are fine, some are great. Being x-braced with moderate wing loading when stuff hits the fan it can go very ugly very fast.
Than again, everyone cuts away their first cross braced right??

If you are Katana pilot you'll hate this wing until you get used to the quicker recovery arc, and its flight characteristics.
If you love how the crossfire or even stiletto flys you'll fit right in.

Great for a working canopy, gets back from far spot with ease, and thx to quick recovery I make it back and still have enough alti to make 270.

If you want this wing to dive like velo does, get 2 sizes smaller than you would with velo,

  5. The most inconsistent opening EVER!
Had anywhere from 1500 ft snivel to +10 ft opening, Im pretty sure I went back up on that one.
Light front riser pressure. Even with light fronts pressure builds fairly quick and very hard to dive due to quick recovery arc.
    Heavy and very responsive rear.
It seems like it losses ALOT of energy coming out of the dive and doesn't surf well compare to Katana or crossfire.
Very poor bottom end flair. Alot of running and dropping.

Bottome line is that, there are ton of better canopies out there.
Fly real canopy such as Katana or Crossfire.

  6. Great opening feels just like crossfire with less search mode, and it is old and made by precision.
However you can not trash trash pack.(3 min pack jobs, one slammer with 3 min pack)
Heavy front riser pressure with tons of oversteering action compare to katana that I've been jumping.
Somewhat light and unresponsive rears, but the toggles are heavy and very responsive.
FX rears are not there to dig out of the dive.
Somewhat sensitive in harness, much more than katana but I wanted even more sensitivity but it is not there at 2.0
Dives less than my bigger katana. wtf???
but swoops way longer. and it stoppes just as well as Katana, even on slight down wind I haven't had to run it out yet.
If you can find one for cheap get it.
They haven't made these since 04 I think.

  7. 1st Great service. I messed up on my order form by ordering large riser instead of thin one, I e-mailed VSE about 3-4 weeks after ordering, their answer was simply "alright will switch em out for you". and rig came in weeks before the due date.
2nd It fits great, feels great, looks awesome. I don't even wanna jump it because it's so beutiful.
3rd protection for the riser and bridle is solid.
4th Ordering form/picking color was so easy, while other company have so much to fill out, VSE keeps it simple yet, more then enough to match to your jump suit and your canopy.
