  1. Sorry, every tandem student I've taken up has done perfect! Its amazing how easy this sport is for people to pick up on their first jump! I've pulled some sweet screen grabs from crap video as well.
Like i said from the beginning. If it's not taking money out of my pocket or adding extra danger...Go for it.

  2. how is a student supposed to keep their hands on the harness if they're sticking them straight out to film? Have fun doing 182 exits with 200lbs of stupid flailing their arms trying to get "The shot." Thank you skyhook for making most my tandem cutaways a SOS style chop. I don't think I would keep throwing drogues if a glove on my hand made me feel "unsafe." I would pay good money to see a first jump student shoot a better handi-cam video them me. It's not happening, not in a million years.

  3. Say I let a student bring up their own camera. It pops off some how and smashes a car window or thunks someone in the head? Since I was the TI would my uspa cover the damages? Who would be at fault?

So i read what TK had to say. I think gopro type cameras are getting smaller, lighter, and would have less chance of an injury if it did pop off. I feel like the winds of change are hitting cameras faster than DZ's having the mindset to allow Students to use them. The only camera set up i have seen people bring in to use are the GoPro. They are still pretty solid in that plastic casing. A few different people have made side money making gloves specifically for skydivers to use. Most stock go pro mounts are pretty crappy still. If its not taking money out of my pocket and not making me feel like i could be liable for something out of my control. I say have fun with it. Just don't rain on my parade.

  4. Communication is your first line of defense. I have done some go arounds with a couple students convincing them that i was good enough at what i do to bring them down safely. Nothing is 100% i wouldn't bullshit them either. I feel like for them to get that far along in the process (waiver, training, gearing, flight, door open." Someone in there wants to skydive. If they still say no, i would land. I have had some students where "no" means "yes." It's something you should feel out for sure, not force.

  5. Im still trying to figure out what works best for me, but from what i've learned so far for minor corrections ill use my feet point my toes down to go forward and heels down to go back. if im really trying to cover distance ill lean back but when you do that your creating more surface area so its gonna slow you down, so you need to compensate with your legs leaning forward to go back doesnt really work since you just get caught in the burble from your legs

  6. I'm surprised no one has mentioned anything about the mass power outage that occured yesterday in new york. Not only did it affect new york but a nice radius reaching michigan, norther ohio, and so on in a big damn circle. Just got my power back and im happy as can be. so ...

  7. Roll packing!?
If it works it works im a packer at my dz and they made it mandatory to Pro-pack tandem canopies majority of what i pack is Strongs, occasionally a racer with the new icarus 400
As far as getting someone to teach you how to pack talk with the packers at your Dz and if theyre not busy as hell i dont see why they wouldnt want to help you out (unless they're greedy and dont want you takin their money ;))

stainless? vertical? what size pipe? #6 position or what? X-ray quality? did they bend test them?

no,yes,none.#6 is with pipe so also none, no guide bend test no x-ray all visual.... the print was very easy just to set us up for regionals where vessles will be the print... those will be dye-penatranted...also states and regionals which will possibly some type of pressure vessel 1,000psi .... Stainless will be done at the skills USA VICA reginal competition along with oxyfuel cutting and possibley Flux Cord... ill keep everyone updated on my welding progress because there will always be someone better then me so i have to keep that mindset, going to college 4 nights a week along with highschool is tough....but damnit im gonna win nationals

  14. To make a long story short i did not place, Not because of a weld in the wrong spot or position, nothing wrong with my welds i was told by the judges they were the best there, which makes me somewhat happy...one of my prints was mis marked....as in someone tampered with it and my tig print wasnt put with the rest of my stuff because of it making the judges think i didnt finish, after the competition i found my print that someone had neatly threw away and i showed all my welds to the judges who were very impressed, just thought i would let ya know here is some of the welds i did *note all welds done verticle*
