I don't like the double sided RSL. I think it is a hazard even with proper training. People don't respond properly under pressure. That being said, there is a saying "Borrowed gear kills". The Racer's double sided RSL isn't the only piece of gear out there that has gotten people in trouble when borrowing gear. I would normally be amused that this post came back from the dead, if not for the fact that it is still available for sale. The bigger concern for me is how many jumpers, especially new jumpers, are being misinformed through word of mouth directly from the source about this raaaaaaad extreeeeeme innovation. I have a pair of under armor cold gear receiver gloves which are excellent. Tight fighting neoprene glove, with a synthetic tacky palm which is made of a very grippy material that would probably make a good SM kink suit if it was used for a whole garment. They work great for tandems at the beginning and end of the season, complete dexterity for hook-up sequence and handle checks. I like them, so when they shit the bed I probably won't find them again. The Iota was shaping up to be a great solution. But they went tits up, and the software interface worked off of their website. It was a combination of GPS, radio transmitters, and a IP connected base station received that fed the information into their network so you could track with an app. The more base stations in an area, for example keep one at the DZ, and another one at a fun jumpers house that is across town would increase the coverage. Well said Jeff. Unlike some places our two DZ's have a great relationship, and both DZ's are great. I would swing by both of them if you have the time. We are open 7 days a week at Danielson, an we primarily fly the Caravan even during the week. If you are coming out during the week give manifest a call, start times can sometimes be later in the day. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

I attribute much of my love for travel, food, and other cultures to him. He was by far my only true man crush. A very tragic loss. He was not tight lipped about his mental health struggles. All suicides are tragic, but I guess these are an extra reminder that just because someone has filed their lives with amazing experiences, fame & success, doesn't mean that their lives are not filled with difficulties. The female tandem instructors I have known were badasses. Setting aside the first few weeks with a freshly inked rating they didn't have a different weight limit than the male instructors. We cut-off at 230, and there aren't overweight fees. If a student was under the weight limit they could be paired with any of us. Don't know if this helps, but I have a I5 with a Smart 175 in it, and M2 AAD. It fits well, but I wouldn't want it any tighter. The reserve pack tray is firm with that in there. You could look up pack volume of the Smart 175 and compare the published volume of those other two reserves. "The restraining order says you're only allowed to touch me in freefall" =P

We do both, works great! When we were a 182 and 206 dz we did only handicam. When we grew into a Turbine dz we started offering outside, kept the handicam, and also do "ultimate" which is outside video and handicam. We get a good mix of customers buying all three options.
