  1. Hmm...I never actually thought of buying an older cypress, that actually sounds like a pretty good idea. It's an option to look into anyway. Thanks! What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  2. Hi All First off, I don't intend to start a discussion about using AAD's or not, however, I do have a concern about my particularly old AAD. I have seen some experienced jumps cringe when they see the FXC on my rig. I've been told to turn it off after my canopy deploys, to avoid a double out. Comments and reactions like that concern me. It this thing reliable? Would I, in fact, be better off removing it altogether? If I had the money for a cypress, I'd just get one of those, but right now, I'm just happy to afford to jump. So what should I do...take it out and trust in my own abilities, or leave it in, "just in case" What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  3. I was fine up to level 5, then it seems I forgot everything about body position. My legs were all fugged up and I could really hold steady. I wasn't exactly spinning out of control, but I was drifting and potato chipping. It took 4 repeat jumps to get passed that. I had about 3 or 4 instructors try different things to get that point through my head. [EDIT] - I just noticed you e-mail asked experienced jumpers...ok, just ignore me What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  4. It is a repost...but I love the video anyway...so you're forgiven.

  6. I'd take the money...you don't exactly know if you giving up a jump day, just that you'll be giving up a chance to spend time at the dz...weather can wreak havok on a good jump day. I've given up saturdays for $200, but I just look at that as making my sunday jumping free
  7. Welcome to the Club What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  8. I've seen a couple new vids posted since I first mentioned it, but again, it seems to have stopped over the last couple weeks. The last newest video was Dec 22nd. Where's all the X-Mas boogie videos??? What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  9. Can you blame me You should see the picture of her ass that I got...she doesn't seem to like that one for some reason What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  10. So you were the one sending those volts through people. I remember how much that HURT!. I actually tried to let go...but my hand and arm weren't really working that well. (nor was my brain, but that's a wholely other problem ) Eventually, I had to settle for 3rd. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  11. Like the others, last day was the 22nd, and I have to go back to work tomorrow. Work sucks...Why can't I just skydive...oh yea, I need to work to pay for skydiving...such a vicious circle. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  12. I was wondering who was going to start this. I took a bunch of pics, and I'd like everyone to take a look through them. If you see you, let us know. It'd be great to put a face to a name. http://www.aspirenterprises.com/Pictures/Skydiving/Florida-Christmas2006/simplegallery.php This is me http://www.aspirenterprises.com/Pictures/Skydiving/Florida-Christmas2006/Picture102.jpg What a great time. By the way...for those that may remember me, I was getting pretty drunk throughout that night, fell over a couple times, so some of the pictures are pretty much a reflection of of my vision. See you all next year! What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  13. Wikipedia...the source of everything. Thanks, I'll send CPSA an e-mail. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  14. The value of the company for sale typically goes up, while the value of the buying company goes down. Has an offer yet been made? If so, is the nature of the deal based on a stock (2 for 1 maybe) trade or is a cash deal. Each of these can have an impact on the value of the company being sold. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  15. ...What do I need to do? I'm in Canada. I there a specific body that I need to contact first? How does it work? With spring a few months away, I think it'd be great to pack the flood of reserves that will need to be done, and make a few extra bucks while I'm at it. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  16. So much information...so interesting...this is going to be so much fun! I hope I can make it on a load, but I have no idea what kind of heli, so I don't know how many jumpers they'll be able to turn around. It's nice to know that the heli does have some forward movement, that'll at least calm my nerves regarding separation. (i'm still working on my tracking skills) What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  17. Z-Hills Baby YEAH!!! oh my...I'm getting all giddy What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  18. I know some people that spread their training over a number of years, simply because it is an expensive hobby. One way that can help, and keep you at the DZ. Learn to Pack. Work weekends packing parachutes and use that money pay for your skydiving. Good Luck, Have Fun, and Smile
  19. I appreciate all the advice and infomation. It certainly releives my tensions on the heli ride (which will be my first) Here's hoping all goes well.
  20. OMG...I'm so glad you reminded me, I would have totally forgotten that! What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  21. I just found out earlier today that there's going to be helicopter jumps in florida this christmas. I've always wanted to jump from a helicopter. That said, I do have some questions regarding helicopters. Is there a minimum (or recommended) number of jumps required before jumping a heli? What would you do in case of an aircraft emergency? If something goes wrong in a heli, the thing is gonna fall straight down, and if you exit, you may end up having a spinning prop coming down at you (since it'll have a higher terminal that any human) Will the pilot/other organizers go over standard procedures and such regarding the aircraft, or will they expect you to know. Any advice is appreciated. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  22. I could play that for hours! What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  23. Cool I'm leaving Toronto on the morning of the 22nd, hopefully to arrive early morning on the 23rd. We should organize an all Canadian jump at Z-hills. I wonder how many canucks are going to be down there? What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
  24. My party is tonight. This is the first party with this company, so I don't really know how it'll turn out. I'm just grateful for free food
  25. Although it doesn't really bother my about what people say on here. Regardless of what I did or didn't do. I definitely hope that my mistake can help teach other skydivers what not to do. And I hope that my friends and loved ones understand that I went out doing what I loved do to, well aware of the risks involved. What goes up, must come DOWN!!!
