  1. 3 times should get ones attention. Wow! Care to share? Re: 5 inches.... Temporal Distortion is an amazing thing. aloha.
  2. Quote -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The kinds of stuff that we were talking about in my class were like whether or not you saw your life flash before your eyes and things like that. ------------------------------------------------------------ Yes!! When this experience occured with me I seem to recall coincided around the same time as my 'first jump'. aloha.
  3. ...bump WOW...I had to wait to hit your web server tonight on Hawaiian time to download it. (ROCKIN!!) It's immediately obvious how much editing work and emotion you poured into that video. Thanks for sharing with us Ian. You have just raised the 'homegrown DZ video quality' notch up quite a bit. Great job!!! AWESOME!!! ....Blue Skies Tom. aloha.
  4. Who in here knows I'm real?..... 'mujie96' 'usmcdannyboy' 'flyhi' 'mcGowan' 'sunman' 'skyrose7' 'blueSBDeath' and of course 'hohonukai' (although she asks if I'm for real about every other day) aloha.
  5. Well Luke first of all 'are you real'? ...if you are, then yes it's no secret that it's the tandems/tourists who keep two King Airs on the North Shore of Oahu, Hawaii flying. The staff and jumpers at both DZ's are friendly. It really seems that it's the owners of both dropzones who share the same market and landing area who can't get along and tend to spread the bad vibes. Best advice.....try both. Waiver and gear check at both DZs and float back and forth to a load call/vibe that suits you best. If you get a bad vibe at one DZ then walk 40yds down and jump at the next. As slug said the winds can be a bit bumpy this time of year but as long as you listen to the locals and keep a heads up under canpoy you can have a great trip and all around experience. Hope to see you out here. aloha.
  6. OK I'm going to advise going back to the Bible routine that I mentioned earlier cause it worked in this one movie I saw once..... oh wait All kidding aside Seriously it's about midnight here on the Hawaiian Islands so it must getting close to sunrise in your neighborhood... and hopefully that will help rest your fears?? No aloha.
  7. QuoteL.O.L "exotic dancer at blind school" Quality! Just get some "quality jumps" while your weather holds out my brother!! Peace and Aloha! aloha.
  8. Well there's the problem right there...hello... Nick @ Nite is EVIL i tell you Seriously, it sounds like some electircal (with the exception of the rocking chair) issues due to the extreme cold that you all are going through in the Eastern Time Zone. If you look outside are the street lights and your neighbors outside lights on? aloha.
  9. From your description of events not really sure. However when you do go down your basement stairs make sure you step down really fast and high so those people living under the stairs don't grab your legs. Sorry couldn't resist Daizey. Sometimes I wake up from a dream that hasn't quite ended yet and get visuals like you just described. Almost always these seem more real than they really are. Especially the next morning. However just to be safe... Can you find a Bible to sleep with under your pillow?? ...sorry again. Just having late night fun. If you've ever heard of "things that go bump in the night" that's what you're experiencing right now. Hollywood has mad a lot of money off the same perceptions and fears that we experience ( you right now) at times. SUNSHINE AND BRIGHT BLUE SKIES!!
  10. Always my standard answer as an instructor/skydiver. Good advice
  11. "Exotic Dancer at the School for the Blind" Thanks Clay... Please shoot me with a 'slow moving' bullet. aloha.
  12. That would kill my theory that it was due to the weight of "frozen condensation" on the pilot chute... aloha.
  13. Thanks! I was waiting for some one to catch that! aloha.
  14. Ain't that the truth?? A few years back I did the winter sojourn to Eloy for about 10 days and 53 jumps. Everything went perfect during the trip. Upon return home during my very first day back on the job I miss stepped the last step on a set of stairs that ended up resulting in breaking the bone that runs along the outside edge of our foot on towards our little toe. I was 'laid up' (ie:not jumping) all the way through the first few weeks of that season WTF..over???? Just goes to show that skydiving can be as safe as we make it be but work on the other hand can be a very serious risk to our health! (on sooo many levels) To SkyMedic~ Dude!!! I'm really sorry to hear about this and I hope you are fully recovered and back in the air very soon! Please take care of yourself and get well brother. Aloha~ aloha.
