  1. I love Skydive Bad Lippspringe, FACT! From my first jump there in 2000 I have never looked back. The DZ still retains the "homely" Club feel although it is a large DZ with great facilities. Many Skydivers can still be seen late at night after jumping has finished around the camp fire. There is a bunk house and camping area (with RV hook ups) that can be used for FREE. The DZ has a Cessna 208 Caravan and the pilot sure knows how to get the most out of it bringing us to the top as fast as possible! The jump tickets only cost 27 euro's to the top and are heavily discounted for NATO Military personnel. The DZ can take tandems and run regular 1 Jump Static line courses (which is still the most cost effective way to get your parachuting license). All skydiving nations are welcome at Skydive Bad Lippspringe! Some think that a military DZ might not be that welcoming, but to be honest you cant even notice that it is one. Skydive Bad Lippspringe is a BPA (British Parachute Association) member anyone not part of the BPA needs to ensure that they have the following, EU Jumpers: FAI, National parachuting license +100 jumps and proof of liability insurance. All others: Make sure you have all you relevant skydiving paperwork (Parachuting license, skydiving logbook) and you can take out a BPA temporary insurance.
  2. I love it........ I am not going to do a search but i will go with the statement " i don't think an AD has caused so much "talk" in a long time". To base a buying decision on a "bit of fun ad" is a little poor! A few months ago I took a long look at a few container websites and found that only Mirage had a complete run down of their container, parts and all of their options! Their professional looking website (with lots of user friendly information, Friendly customer service, high quality parts, fast delivery time and kick ass looking container, is the reason why i chose to "want" to be a sponsored Mirage member! I laughed when i saw the ad and laughed even more when i saw the Mirage ad in Blue Skies Magazine. I do not go to the DZ and talk about politics, war or how global warming is affecting the world! I leave these conversations for boring evening meals with non jumpers! I go to the DZ to enjoy the "dirty" jokes, relaxed atmosphere and easy going guys and girls! So when i see a Mirage like ad i laugh and wonder why others give it such a bad wrap. Personally to have a thread here on DZ.com dedicated to the ad is excellent marketing. I truly belive that the guys and girls at Mirage do not make a bad rig because they have published these ad's and anyone that does ......well lets just say it's very shortminded of them! Come on guys and girls do you want the same looking ad's that all the manufactures provide month in month out!? Just my 2 euro's worth
  3. A long established DZ (50 years continuous) that is run by the British military. Home of the Rhine Army Parachute Association (RAPA). Open 7 days a week from March through to November. Mainly military training mid week - but visiting jumpers still welcome, and an active sport skydiving DZ at weekends. Skydive Bad Lippspringe DZ has fantastic facilities for all types of parachute training and is well worth a visit. see the reviews for jumper comments. We also offer all NATO Armed forces heavily discounted jump tickets as well as Tandem and Static line courses for dependents.

  5. Hi, Well i already have a party of 6 booked and ready to go. Do you think it may be wise to get some kind of driving pool from the airport to the DZ going? I know we are going to hire mini buses but i am sure we will have some space if anybody wants to chip in....... We will land in Jo'burg on the 28th dec at around 1700 flying from Germany......... The Guys and Girls from the AFFC already have put alot of effort in the preparations and its up to the masses to make the next year to go off with a big bang..........
  6. I have heard through that there is already one planned around Empuria when they they get the funds together

  8. Thanks for the info .......as for my reserve i still have another 10kg of burgers i can eat before i reach maximum limit (pd 126 Max W= 115kg) which i have tried out all ready (twists in main) as for the main slightly over the limits, and as i said have already jumped it a few times and the landing was better than alot of jumps on different 150's....... my question go's back to....... was i just very lucky?? Or for my jump no's suitable i feel confident on the main and have waited untill now before downsizing the other instructors have said that i handle it well but it is always nice to hear the other side of the coin....
