  1. If you can't trust soldiers with guns, why would you trust the general public with it? "Every" Soldier is required to carry, not everyone in the general public is. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  2. I was going to ask if it was Obama's fault in the general sense, or if it was because he flew into the AOR? When he flies it really screws with schedules. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.

  4. Not sure about any I forgot I took but got some I know I did. I was a bit far out so I cropped it down to the more relevant part. I'll describe it later unless someone recognizes it. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  5. Hiya! I'm in Tampa too, well kinda, when I'm not gone anyways. I'll have to look up some of the local areas to get some more training and re-checked out when I start up again. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  6. What line did we cross and how exactly is arming the rebels in contravention to international law? Didn't Gaddafi basically screw himself when his troops began using cluster bombs? Seems like that opened him to all sorts of options by other countries now. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  7. NP. I'm sure if I live to be that old I'll be the center of all that is right as well. For now though, meh, I'll just verify everything you say. Keep the old guys happy and less grumpy and all. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  8. Great, sounds like you avoided a confrontation...then again...: ...thereby deliberately renewing the situation which could have ended peaceably back at the rest area, and challenging him/them to a confrontation. But at least you defended your honor, right? Otherwise, your entire penis might have fallen off; either that, or your head might have exploded. Most people are absolutely certain that every road rage incident is all the other guy's doing. Adrenaline is good for "fight or flight", but it's not so hot for sensible judgment. Sometimes "manning up" just gets you dead too young. I've been in a few road rage incidents in my life, too - but none in the 10+ years since I turned 40. Funny how that works. I wasn't looking to avoid the situation the second time around. I was looking to end it and avoid any repeats. If after getting off they got back on I would have then become much more direct and turned it into an incident. So yeah it must have been honor, the honor of a penis that prevents heads from exploding. Because of how we knew each other and all the people standing on the Interstate so early in the morning. In all instances I've began by trying to diffuse the situation, but I'll avoid only so long as well. But I guess two incidents in around 14 years of driving is kinda high huh? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  9. There was one time I was driving from Atlanta, GA up to Ft. Jackson SC early in the morning. Cruising along around 90sh and had lights come up behind me. Very few cars on the road that early and they were a cars length or less away from me, so close I couldn't see the headlights anymore. After a few miles I got off on the exit and they continued on. I get back on and a while later same thing happens again. I don't think it was the same car but it may have been. I speed up and they do too. I move into the left lane and they do too. I really speed up and leave them but when I slow down to a normal 20sh over the limit they catch up again and ride my bumper. So I get to a rest area and turn off and they continue on. I just drive through the rest area and get back on the Interstate behind them and ride their bumper for a change. They pull off at the next exit and I don't see them again. That whole thing was just weird. Have had a couple other cases of people and road rage too. One while in Miami was while I was sitting at a light in the right of 3 lanes and a van passing in front lost a couple 20 foot or so long boards. He pulled over and ran back to the intersection and was pulling them out. Light turned green but I sat there since he was in front of me. Well that pissed the guy behind me off who was waiting to turn right. He peeled out and tried to pass me in the second lane so I pulled forward just a tad blocking those two lanes while the guy grabbed the last board. If I wouldn't have the guy behind me would have either hit the guy with the boards or the boards themselves also hitting the guy. Guy with boards clears intersection and I pull through it and continue on with now crazy BMW road rage guy chasing me. A couple brake checks and chicken swipes at me I pull a quick u-turn and lose him. Other was in Tampa. Short of that one involved me calling 911, not having left enough distance ahead of me at a light behind cars as I'm not sure if I could have made it over the curb, and a quote of almost $10k in damage by a guy kicking and swinging an expandable baton. Guess I was impolite by honking at him for cutting me off and then brake checking causing two extremely near misses in a row. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  10. It's not always about a single item either but being able to buy everything you want in as few places/stores as possible so as to be more convenient. Not sure if it is all states but I believe there is a law that gas must be sold at or above what you buy it for. This prevents using it as an attraction to draw people in to buy stuff inside the gas station. If true I don't agree with that particular law. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.

  12. That was my attempt at humor too. Interesting, I'm all into guns but never heard anything about butter before. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  13. Why are they moving the guns next to the butter? That seems like a silly place to put them. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  14. Because there is generally no need on base. While it just happened to be an Afghan guy that went postal it's happened elsewhere even in the US. I don't believe it was as much culturally generated as it was stress. This was a trusted individual, not an outsider. Having soldiers walk around loaded would create much more harm and danger than the off chance of needing to be loaded. Even with supposedly cleared weapons I've seen a negligent discharge by an idiot that luckily was into a clearing barrel. This guy had just been walking around and sitting next to someone with the barrel pointing at him. Not everyone is special forces, infantry, etc. There are alot of people that still cannot handle a weapon correctly even with qualifying yearly etc. Now this is on a fairly large base. When you go out to the smaller FOBs I'm all about keeping everything loaded as there is little to no buffer zone outside the fence line. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  15. Yep, at least for another month. Trying to extend and either finish out a year or complete one full year starting this summer. Contractor now so gotta deal with contract changeovers and all the fun uncertainty that they bring. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  16. I was similar but I got tired of renting and not knowing the history, quality, etc of the gear so I stopped jumping for a few years til I could buy my own. All debts are now paid off except the house so almost there and can't wait. Still want the same gear from what my research has turned up but will have to see if I can find any of it available used when the time comes. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  17. I'm going to skip over most of crap that's in here and just respond by saying, yes I carry in Disney World, along with at many other parks. I will say I have not in the water parks yet though. Just doesn't seem right ya know? - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  18. Most were although not carrying loaded while in/on base. The contractor was probably not as dirty filthy contractors cannot be trusted with weapons. Wait for May 1st through the 3rd to see how much more interesting it gets. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.

  20. I think it's actually fun to do. Going down the highway you can play with it and never leave your lane. All you have to do is move a couple feet back and forth, you don't have to turn so hard your dragging knee. If you've ridden above running speed you've done it so it's nothing new, now you're just paying attention and learning how it works. Maybe don't focus and doing it but go back and forth and pay attention on what you're doing to make it happen. Turning right makes the bike fall to the left, then you straighten out and it keeps going, as you near where you want to be you turn to the left and the bike is pulled back under you untill you're going straight, then you straighten out and you're good to go. Don't know how much sense this makes to others. I miss my bike (Stolen '00 R1) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  21. I get similar crap about riding Motorcycles. Why would I risk it? It's funny that my bike is so much more dangerous than skydiving but even though I just started I get so much more crap about how dangerous skydiving is and they could never do something like that. If you have to ask you won't understand. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
  22. I almost always do it, both in my big truck and my tiny car. I'm quite good at it and can probably do it better and more accurately than pulling in forward since I back in so much more often. Reasons off the top of my head in order... 1. I'm always in more of a hurry to leave then to get somewhere. 2. It's easier to see while pulling out. 3. With the truck it allows me to stick the rear end over the curb so I stick out in the street less than had I pulled in forward. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Rap is to music what etch-a-sketch is to art.
