  6. when doing any saltwater jumps, make sure your rig is out of the water and sunlight asap. sunlight is the first thing to start to fade your rig. put it in a black garbage bag. then make sure it is put in a fresh water rinse. pop the reserve and everything. if you have the ability make sure you can rinse it 3 times. using new fresh water everytime. a mild soap may also be used in the first rinse.and then hang everything to dry completly...unless you are just going to jump the rig in the water again ...soon like within a few (2-5) days "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  7. i work and jump at a air force base in westhampton beach and skydive long island in calverton long island. during our peak business (summer) comming fast. the exclusivly super -unfriggin believably rich people of the hamptons will be flying back and forth every weekend in there helicopters and private aircraft. yes our dropzone is huge... it is a retired navy aircraft factory with two runways one 10K long and the other 7K long. you cant miss us. well every load there are helicopters passing through our airspace without calling the field or anything. and to be helicopter blades from the top looks like a friggin blender. there are literally hundreds of helicopters a day passing back and forth. every load you can see at least 3-4 passing by "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  8. me and mostlyharmless did a whole bunch of math and figuring out....well with our caravan we can takeoff and land safely with a full load two takeoffs and two landings...with room to spare.... "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  9. this is a copy of my letter....let me know what your thought is on what i wrote "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  10. everyone thinks that the person pushing this end of the runway idea is just trying to stick it to us. its seems that he is the only one with any knowlege of FAR/AIM and he is pushing his so called knowlege on the other town board members that might not know anything about airport operations... we are the only safe and self reporting( being VFR and little local traffic, it is up to the pilot in command to report his position, but you Dont have to report it) we have ALOT of helicopter and small light aircraft traffic that cross the DZ at low levels without reporting even though our DZ is marked on the sectional. and we are the group being blamed for all aircraft noise when there is so much other non essential airtraffic around during the summer... its not my place but has anyone ever had alot of luck with problems like this by going to the USPA. "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  11. there is nothing in the FARs that says intersection takeoffs are illegal....now it is up to the pilot to determin if it is safe or not...more to come...have to work "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  12. are there any actual reports on this or is it all hearsay?? and cold asa in like the -5 -15c that you described "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  13. i would not only like everyone opinion on this. but i need to know the real information on this. if you packed your parachute (main or reserve) in regular -high humidity. and you went and jumped in northern alaska (extreme cold) what would happen to it upon opening? would it open regularly, would it freeze into a block and not come out of the d-bag?? what would happen OPINIONS and FACT (if possible) "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
  14. i just have a few questions....how many people are usually there? are there going to be more jump aircraft there than just the caravan and otter?? how many jumps do you usually get there ?? "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"
