i am planning on comming to this boogie. from what i have read this is going to be amazing. i work at skydive long island and there will be about 9 of us taking the road trip down to atlanta. mostly belly flyers..but a few people that are working on free flying and two that are good at it. the costume party should be good..now the only thing is to figure out what will be the most amazing costume ever. and be able to get it from long island ny to atlanta. cant wait ...and oh....you dont want "mostlyharmless" comming as the naked guy "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"

Any military parachute riggers here?
milehighpres replied to JT_76's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
it seems so far that you are looking to stay army, or go into the marines. me personally i am in the air force. i work with a special forces unit that i am sure you could try to get into in the army or marines. they jump almost all squares..and a few rounds. we have a few rigs that are civilian rigs for training. and they also jump at my local dropzone to get saturation jumps in when needed. so its nice being there rigger. i get to go to my dropzone for the day with them and pack there chutes and jump with them. so it all depends on what you want...but if you want a skydiving related AFSC/MOS then spec. ops is the way to go "the sky is not the limit....the ground is" -

well i am a military (USAF rigger for Spec. Ops) and an FAA rigger. some of the people that you saw in the HALO warrior show are the people that i work for. the BIG diffrence is in SIZE. my new military freefall rigs that are from CPS are called SOV3 (special operations Vector) made by RWS it basically is a Vector 3 but three times the normal sport rig. the main and reserve are both 375sq.ft. it is literally as large or larger than some tandem rigs. but i can zip in side wings for holding radios O2 bottles and other navigation items. i also have sigma tandems that are 400zp or 425. and the smallest at least the air force can go is a 1:1 ratio on wing loading for there canopie. and it freaks my guys out when i tell them i am 240 out the door and jump a 190. and other questions just ask. i have alot of military parachute information if needed "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"

here is mine i am in a military rigger...so this at least matches with my uniform when i jump during my lunch break G4, M5 pd 176 triathalon 190 "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"

go to home depot. go to the plumbing department and there they have clear tubing with the small fiberglass webbing in it..to make it stronger. get about three feet of tubing. also get a 4 inch piece of wood rod that you can put the ends together with. use pipe clamps (the little metal ones with the screws) that is your first thing...now about the handle. you are going to want to get some nylon tubular webbing and some old suspension line. or anything of your choice...becuase the tube is going to want to twist. u can use chain..or anything that you wish. more to come...have to get back to work "the sky is not the limit....the ground is"

AWESOME IDEA MOTHERGOOSE....no we just need a place and a date. also icarus tandem canopies do not stow the brakes so there would be an advantage with that canopy. also the rigs would have to be the same since new canopies are harder (more slippery) than older( 1000's of jumps) on them. also after the competition there would be a great deal of learning from one another, learning diffrent ways and ideas on packing which would make everyone better as a whole....
