After reading that article I have to ask why do these people always get suspended WITH pay. They seem to do this all the time. It's like Hey you idiot, you really fucked up. Now go take a nice payed vacation and think about what you've done. WTF. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

I use the same amount of gas per week no matter what the price, so keep it low. Now if I got a raise every time they raise gas prices, I wouldn't give a shit. Not me but a friend landed out in a farmers field becase of very high winds. So strong he landed going backwards. Anyway he ends up landig right next to a barbed wire electric fence. His canopy fell on the far side of the fence and continually pulled him into it. The farmers son comes out and asks if he can help, so my friend is yelling at him to cut the power. The3 kid says it is off and wouldn't believe him till he actually touched it himself. He finally cut away his main after being jolted a dozen times or so. I guess it's a little hard to thiunk clearly with electricity pumping thru your body or he probably would have cut it away a little sooner. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.

I was not and still am not a natural born skydiver. I've always caught on to things very quickly also. But skydiving takes all my concentrtion to do what I need to do. You sure as hell can't pick up all you need to in four jumps dude. Continue, cause it only gets better. Sometimes I wonder why I do it. I was at work and listening to the radio when I heard about the first plane and thought to myself that a small plane had accidentally hit the tower. Then I heard about the second plane and realized that this was no accedent. I called my wife to tell her what was going on. Then Heard of the third plane hitting the Pentagon. I'm sitting here with goosebumps just remembering all this. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the surviving family and friend of all those lost. Not quite sure why everybody thinks it has to be a tandem or student operation. Iwent to the local regional airport. Not a small one by any means. Got all of the ok's that were needed. FAA, tower, saftey office, manager, superintendant, etc. Then found a pilot with a Cessna 180 that is waivered to fly with the door off, contact the tower and file our NOTAM with the controlling airspace, and then we jump. It may not be a Bonafide DZ, but we make a few jumps now and then and we have fun. We pay for his fuel and thats all he wants. So we pay about $12.00 a jump per person to 9 to 10 K. I've ridden Harleys for over 25 yrs. Several yrs. back a biker friend of mine gave hi wife a joke birthday gift. He gave her a brand new broom with a kick start attatched to it. Everyone there got a good laugh out of it except for his wife who divorced him not a year later. Probably not only cause of the broom but anyway......... I don't know that you should have to do night jumps for your D but I still want to do one if for no other reason than the experience of rolling over on my back and looking at the stars with no outside light. I t has to be an awsome feeling. I may be getting old but I got to see all the cool bands.
