  1. When i say CSS is a small DZ I am not talking about the facilities more about the fact that jumpers from other DZs dont visit us as often as they used to so we are small in the number of out of town jumpers we see. We want to encourage jumpers to come jump with us and see all we have to offer and i'm looking for ideas or events that would encourage them to do that. We have some of the best facilities and aircraft on the east coast but organizing events is primarily up to the local jumpers with little support from mgmt and we were just wondering if anyone had any cool event ideas we could build upon.
  2. Looking for some suggestions on how to organize a good Boogie people would want to come too. Our DZ is small and limited on funds but local jumpers are willing to spend some money on the right ideas if it will attract other jumpers. We used to be known for good Boogies years ago but now are know for having really lousy ones, and we would like to change that. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...Remember (low funds) THANKS!!!
  3. Party! Party! Party! We are hosting a welcome home party for Casey at the dz saturday night. All are welcome to come and as always beer donations are highly appreciated. Bring your tent and help the village grow and remember we have a newly restored bunk house open to all. We will have a grill so if you bring the food we'll cook it for you. A pot luck dinner would work the best considering we have no stove so please feel free to bring side dishes, any kind and any size. This is an open invitation to all so tell your friends, bring some beer and plan to stay a while, I have a feeling this could go all night.
  4. For someone whos never been pied before you sure do talk a lot of shit. You may not see it coming but believe me in 3 weeks youd better start watching your back, you can run but you cant hide from the pie!!!
  5. I do not owe beer! Floaty is blind in one eye and cant see out the other. Video evidence is irrefutable. And for the record I bought a case of beer Saturday night but nobody was there to drink it. Unless you mean I owe beer for my 300th?
  6. I was kidding about asking our S&TA but not everyone knows who he is, it would have been funny to set up someone to deal with Paul. Did someone say Brian Germain is a freeflyer!!??? In case you didn't hear, cheese fries jokes aren't funny anymore but nice try. And to think I bought you new rainbow flavored freefly twizzlers today, guess I'll eat them myself.
  7. Check with your DZO who is also an S&TA or any instructor at the DZ. Renfro or Randy would be more than happy to go over safety with anyone.
  8. I've heard that and bought one to try this weekend. I put it inside a tennis ball to make it more visible in the air. Do you think the tennis ball will change it's fall rate significantly?
  9. Does anyone know how much weight is needed to make a freefly spaceball? How bout a belly flier spaceball?
  10. Congrats Harry, glad to hear everyone is doing well. How is your healing coming along? Is it to early to order Zachary a freefly suit? Can't let him grow up to be a belly flyer! Keep us posted on the family and attach some pics when you get a chance, I think some people are going to have to see it to believe it (HARRY'S A DAD!!!). Congrats again hope to see you all soon.
  11. This is the second time I've seen a doctor and still don't know what the damage is. I had X-rays today and the good news is my knee is not broken. The doc thinks I tore some cartilage (is that spelled right?) so I'm getting an MRI on Tuesday to find out. Doc says depending on how bad and how much cartilage is torn surgery may or may not be necessary. Looks like it will take at least 3 visits to the hospital just to find out the extent of the damage. Is it just me or is it more of a pain in the butt dealing with doctors than it is dealing with the pain of an injury? Anyway, hope everyone has fun jumping this weekend (you suck) see you Saturday nite. --Matt--
  12. Thanks for the advice on the MRI Harry, I have an appointment at the Orthopedic place tomm. I will definitely make sure they look at everything. The knee seems to be getting better everyday but it's really tight and gets stiff if I don't walk on it for a while but seems to loosen up the more I use it. Thanks to everyone for their concern it makes me feel better about being a dumbass. I'm planning to visit the DZ late Saturday and help Eugene with dinner so I should have an update on my condition then. Eric keeping having fun on your trip and be careful, see you when you get back, thanks again for your advice Harry, hope to see you soon heal fast. --Matt--
  13. Ok, so I guess I owe everyone an apology for my dumbass move sunday, and I need to thank Randy, Rob, Dawn and Marion for helping me. If I missed anyone, sorry I dont know who all was helping me while I laid on the ground like an idiot. I hope I set a perfect example of what not to do under canopy, and I hope people learn from my mistakes. In case you dont know what happened I did a low 180 and crashed into the ground face first, bounced up, flipped through my lines and landed 60-70ft from where I first hit the ground. I was released from the ER with nothing more than a prescription for Motrin and thought I was ok. Here it is the next day and I cant walk. Going to another hospital today, pretty sure I broke my knee. Will update as events unfold. SORRY again for being such a dumbass and dragging people down with me.---Matt
  14. I hate to be the messenger of more bad news but I was just informed Pete Kimosh broke both ankles this weekend at Skydive Coastal Carolina. He is fine and in good spirits but out of the game for a while. Im sure he wouldnt mind hearing from some friends wishing him a speedy return to the DZ. --
  15. Thursday is a go for me. I think Ben will also be out.
