  1. WOW! Hope you get to jump soon but be careful over there-not sure if I would want to jump out of one of their planes-it might explode! Def want to see you use that rig more than once. GOOD AIRPLANES & BLUE SKIES!! PEACE!!! "From Wings Came Flight"
  2. Awesome-well not the landing atleast. I always make sure that when I am about to land I am looking at he horizon with my knees and ankles together and bent in ready mode for plf-that way as soon as i feel on my toes touching something on the ground, I automatically PLF and roll it out. Works everytime-NEVER LOOK AT THE GROUND WHEN COMING IN-i hurt my tailbone pretty good doing that. I will be out in the LA area during July 4th weekend-would love to meet you out for a jump- I am a student-hopefully by then I will have my "A". I am 23 myself and live in NY. I do have my plane tickets to LA already, so E-mail me if you want to meet up when I am there. (my twin and I are going to LA together-she is also a skydiver-u can meet her too!) Hope to hear from you-PEACE!!!! If you check out my profile, tells u a bit more about me :-) "From Wings Came Flight"
  3. I know I am late here, but congrats! I am ASL fluent myself ( i see there is someone below that is). Mike does have the advantage of sight at most. Glad to know that there are sone deaf skydivers out there. I have yet to meet one, but glad that I can communicate when that time comes :-) peace christi "From Wings Came Flight"
  4. that is really funny. spoken like a true engineer- i was thinking that as well b/c i am a mechanical engineer with minor in aerospace. glad to see some engineers in the skydiving sport b/c i don't know any of them here in new york. co workers always tell me, you desgin perfectly good airplanes, why are you jumping out of them?? sooo... i bought a shirt from go-wear.com that says "jumps from perfectly good airplanes" -that should really rub it in!!! PEACE!!! christi "From Wings Came Flight"
  5. i am a student and waiting in new york for snow to stop falling and the season to open. i am glad you posted that info on that DZ you went to. not a bad deal for all that you got!!!! i wish i would have known about this sooner b/c i would have signed up myself ( i could claim death in fam so i could get out of work-tht would be the only way-still so wrong though-anything for skydiving!!!!!!) sucks about the bad weather but what a great experience you had- i am very jealous. well congrats and bluer skies to you peace "From Wings Came Flight"
  6. i like your coke habit description-however, to some, skydiving might not be cheaper and a lot of the people i skydive with will go across the country to make a jumo-so i guess it depends on the person and their BAD habits-but you def got a laugh out of me. i see that you are from colorodo-LUCKY-my next fav sport is snowboarding-i am a burton junkie. well, blue skies (soon for you) peace christi "From Wings Came Flight"
  7. i see that you are in pa. i am in new york(buffalo area) and the peeps that i skydive with do a few base jumps out in pa. one of these nice days when they do a base jump, i will make them come out to your dz-where do you jump??? oh i am a student as well and cant wait to jump jump jump. if you are not too far, there is a tunnel in toronto t hat you can go in and practive your freefall moves. i am thinking about looking into that within the next couple weeks since we have snowy weather-you prob do too! k i t peace christi "From Wings Came Flight"
  8. Hello. I am a student and from new york. we cant skydive here either year round which sucks! i love the sport and as soon as the snow stops falling and we get some blue skies, my life will be the drop zone again. my man getsa bit mad b/c i spend all my time at the DZ from april-october but he understands my love for the sport. as for pointers, arch!!!!! which helps is to look up for the plane when you jump since that helps your arch :-) oh yeah, and gie the peace sign during freefall (j/k) good luck peace christi "From Wings Came Flight"
  9. i am a chick skydiver myself. my twin sister and i got into the sport together a year ago and we are waiting for the season to open up here in new york so that we can jump 12 or more times a day! i would like to see more girls myself, but then again we got all the eye candy :-) blue skies peace "From Wings Came Flight"
  10. I just wanted to say that I agree, skydiving is better than any drug, and yes, I will say it sex, and that is pretty bomb!!! You will find ways to make it through. I am a student myself and for work in a high demanding job so for me to go skydiving off season here is new york is tough(not money wise-just too much work)! I myself would like to make a career since i am interested in going to flyboyz school and eventually compete in the x games. I might come out to florida and jump one of these days that I get out of the office. Keep in touch. Good luck and anything is possible. PEACE "From Wings Came Flight"
  11. I JUST WANTED TO SAY THAT I LIKE YOUR QUOTE : DEATH IS CERTAIN. LIFE IS NOT. KINDA LIKE SKYDVIVING-HA! I REMEMBER WHEN I DID MY FIRST TANDEM-I WAS SOOO THRILLED! I TOLD MY VIDEO GUY MARTY THAT I WANTED TO DO IT AGAIN-SO I DID! I AM CURRENTLY A STUDENT. LIFE IS GOOD! PEACE "From Wings Came Flight"
  12. Wow, no radio control!! Well, the DZ I go has a huge picture of the drop zone of what it looks like at a certain altitude-they showed us on the pciture of how we need to come in so that way we have an idea (on top of the radio control that we have). If there is a pciture of your DZ high enough, get the wind direction and then have an instructor tell you how you need to be coming in. This might help you b/c then you have the view in your head from the picture. Just make sure you don't land in trees or power lines. That could hurt! "From Wings Came Flight"
