  1. Thanks guys for your comments! I believe it will be better... and yes I'm spoiled Before I jumped a Sabre2. This canopy has also very great openings! But then I thougt, the crossfire2 has better openings. Maybe too much anticipation/prospects I will jump the "new" packed Crossfire at saturday... I'm hopeful
  2. Yes I will try the same like you. Don't rolling the tail too tight. And push the nose back into the canopy. I think, the XFire don't like if you pack too serious I hope that's the solution... you will hear it from me or feel it self
  3. First of all: Thanks for your answers! Here is the video of two openings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TNtkvNqDItg The first opening is a normal opening. The second opening is not really a bad one, but if I pack the XF2, then ALWAYS looks like this!! What's the problem!?!? The snivel part of the opening is still as nice but after that... I don't know. Maybe the slider stucks in the lines or... Mostly the canopy turns to the left side. You guys told me something about how to roll the tail or how to handle with the nose... I will use following things: - Push the nose into the canopy before... - ...rolling the tail not too tight. But what about the slider? Parting in all 4 sides or pulling out completely? Generaly I think BMFin is right... I don't give input of risers during opening. And I always have attention to my pull-position (symmetric in the harness). Sometimes I wear a camera-suit with big wings. Then it's impossible to grab the risers. @Dougiefresh, dharma1976 I jump with this canopy because I also record RW Teams and I need a canopy with soft openings ;) Winload? I have NO problem with landings (visited some canopy control courses). 90° Frontriser turns and rising.
  4. Hi It's unbelievable, but possible... I have BAD Crossfire2 openings And the reason are my packing skills, because if someone other packed my canopy, then I have "great" openings. I jump with a crossfire2 119 (Wingload: 1.76). In the first moment of the opening the canopy looks good, but then the slider comes down very abrupt. Now I think the outer cells gets air BEFORE the middle cells and pull down the slider. After the slider is down, my canopy looks very crazy and mostly turn me about 360°. Very uncomfortable. I pack like a "student": - nose don't turn, only pulling out. - no attention for the stabilizers. - cover turn Do you tell me a hint for packing method!? Tomorrow I will upload a video with my openings (good, bad). I hope, someone have the solution p.s. sorry about my english. If you don't understand something, ask me please. kevin
  5. Hi I work with Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Until now I used CS4 with DV-Quality-camcorders. But now I have a sony cx100 with FullHD. That's the reason for change some hardware on my "old" computer (yes, isn't a mac). First question: - What's better: QuadCore or DualCore processor? I believe QuadCore, but why? Or is DualCore enough? (the price is much higher...) - What's your opinion about the RAM's? Are 3.5 GB enough for the first steps with FullHD and CS4? Because 32Bit OS (Operation System) don't accept more then 3.5 GB RAM. Later I will buy windows 7 (64Bit) and upgrade the RAM's to >6GB. - What's your experience with the graphic card. Does this card have a influence for video editing or only for games? - Is the access time of a harddisc (rotations per minute) important? I'm glad to read some smart answers And what's your hardware equipment? Especially computer users...
  6. I work also with adobe premiere pro cs4...but with windows. If I have problems/questions, I use this pages: http://www.adobe.com/support/premiere/ http://help.adobe.com/en_US/PremierePro/4.0/ Have fun
  7. Hi Small question between the others. I jump with the cx100. After the last weekend with a few of jumps (RW Team) I transfered the mts-Files to my pc. First question: Why the files aren't in the jump(created)-order?? It's possible to change this setting? Because if I only can see the files (pc), I have to search the right jump (or order the files with the creation date on my pc). Second question: After the jumps while the RW-Team debriefing... When I switch from the record mode to the "play-mode", the cx100 always show me the first recorded clip. How I can change for showing me the last clip first. I hope you know what I mean. Thanks kevin
  8. Ok, it sounds nice about the showers. But I think, that's not of capital importance Important for us is the way to sleep in the night. (rainy nights for example will be very uncomfortable ...) What about lockboxes? Because we are not only there for skydiving (only this week) Stephan: That's cool. My home dropzone is Triengen. But Beromünster is also a great place. You know, Switzerland is small. Where you will be exactly? What's your language (french, italy, swiss-german)? I hope the last one, otherwise we have to speak in english :D
  9. First: Thanks for the answers. I think, it's the best and cheapest way to hang around on the ranch with a tent.. and take the "shower" in the swoop pond :) Hausse: You wrote something about 2 other swiss people. What do you mean? You are also from switzerland or other skydivers from switzerland will make holiday there? I will bring fondue for more cool hints :D haha
  10. Hi "the Ranch - Skydivers" and others :-) We (my girlfriend and me) are from Switzerland and we are going to visit the ranch in the USA (we are both licensed skydivers). The time will be at September 1st – 8th 2009. Now we are looking for accommodation-possibilities in this week. Do you have any proposals on the dropzone/village?? We only need a bed and a shower If it's available we can use a share-room (like dormitories) on the dropzone -> That’s will be nice! Thanks for hints and sorry for my bad English Greetings Kevin P.S. I also sent an email to this address ([email protected]) but I'm not sure if they still current (no answer received).
  11. It sounds fascinating how you hold your camera in the box :) My reason for using screws: Prevention of vibrations. I think, if the box is open I also can jump. I will not lose the camera. Any pictures of your helmet? I used 5 screws. 4 screws for fixing the box and the camera-screw. All of this screws I can releasing inside of my helmet. You are right with the lense! But first I have to put money aside ;) For the first time it will be enough. Minimum wide-eye ;)
  12. I'm not sure, if I understand what you mean exactly, but... - velcro strap: If you mean the velcro strap for holding the box-door closed...I think it doesn't need more, because it's hardly impossible that the box-door can open alone. However: the cx100 is fixed with a big fat screw single element lens: I used the old wide-eye from my old pc104 (same diameter of the winding).
  13. Just finished ;) I jumped the Rawa for four years with a sony pc104. Now it's time to change the "resolution" to the cx100 Zero jumps with the new combination but I think, it works
  14. How did you mount your hypeye on your helmet? adhesion? adhesive tape (double-sided)?
  15. @dragon2: how long did you wait for your camera-box?? Because I ordered also this box from tonfly at March 30..... until now nothing heard :(
