I've heard contradicting answers, and I'm pretty much polling the audience. If you had a bad jump, where you landed in not the greatest of places, but was ok... just scratched up and bruised... would you take that as a sign not to jump again that day and come back another day... or would you get back on the plane to get it right. I have 16 jumps and graduated from AFF back in February. 4 weeks ago on my 16th jump, I ended up landing on the runway due to cross winds and flaring too high. I tore up my ankle, and it's been healing since then, and I will be cleared by the doctor today to see if I can jump on monday. If I can jump, can anyone offer some advice. I am a bit nervous about my next jump since I had such a bad landing last time. Should I do a coach jump for my next jump and take a walkie-talkie just in case I get a crazy landing pattern going on... or would that be considered "sissy" since I've already graduated from AFF.... or should I just do a jump, get back into it, then do a coach jump another day to do some skills for my A license?? Personally, I enjoyed doing all of my AFF at one site because all the instructors watched me along the way and were able to help me out more so on different levels because they knew and saw my progress from level 1. Once you complete your AFF, you are still on student status until you have 25 skydives and completed your profiency card for your A license. I will continue to jump at my home DZ until I reach my A license because I still am a student and my instructors know my progress and can help me work on things that I need to get done... So to answer your question, I would do your AFF at the DZ you plan to be your home DZ. You could knock out your AFF before you go to Hawaii too..
