Copied from Facebook Forwarding: From: Tami Morrison Date: June 13, 2015 at 4:24:19 PM CDT Subject: Tim's Update Wanted to let everyone know that my love of 35 years, passed away yesterday (Friday, June 12th) shortly after noon. Since the tracheotomy on Easter weekend, he steadily declined in health, although he was still walking the dog and flying only 3 weeks ago. He went into the hospital on May 28th for 10 days due to high blood sugar brought on by the steroids he was taking. Unfortunately, while he was there, he contracted pneumonia and developed a blood clot in his right arm. He came home Monday afternoon to home hospice care, but the breathing problems persisted. He passed peacefully during an afternoon nap, with me holding his hand, and his sister next to him. We will be having a memorial service at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home on July 11 at 10 AM, followed by a party to celebrate his life at our home. There will also be an ash dive, which is tentatively scheduled for June 27th at Spaceland drop zone near Rosharon, TX. More details of the final arrangements and times will come in the next update. Westex Skysports in Stanton TX. is sad to learn of the passing of long time member and great friend Matt Oehlschlager. He passed away peacefully this morning in Odessa, Texas. Matt had been a skydiver, rigger, USPA judge, and pilot.. not to mention many other talents, and to those who knew him..well, he finally got to be that Skymaster! I have seen lots of scams and they are generally associated with gear sales. Has anyone seen the use if a credit card in a scam? This came straight to our manifest email and is the last reply... "Hello, Thanks for the bookings & confirmations .The total cost of the Diving and Certification is quite okay by me and i'm ready to pay the bills. Also want you to help me Charge another 1500 USD to a travel agent who has issued my guests air flight ticket to your city. The 1500 USD that will be sent to the agent is for the ticket fare for my guests which will be deduct from my credit card.Also, i'm compesating you with the sum of 400 USD for the transfer fee and for your efforts. Please note that i should have given the travel agency my credit card for him to deduct the ticket funds but he told me that he doesn't have the facilities to charge or debit credit card , so that's why i bring my vote of confidence in you and i dont want you to betray the vote of confidence i put in you so i want you to transfer the funds to him after the money charge from my credit card has reflect in your account you can now make the transfer to the agent via western union. So, the charges you'll make on my credit card will be: Diving and Certification fee : $1000 Agent fee with shipping fare (1500 USD) Your Commssion (400 USD) Note that my credit card will be charged for the amounts above. A lot of girlfriends are lost due to this sport because when you say " I going to go jump today do you want to go?" They think you are going to the airport and get right on the plane and go right up and come right back down and then go to the movies or something. Not knowing it's going to be an all day event and half of the night. Then there is the bond issue skydivers have with each other and that can cause some jelousy. Rickster was at some point jumping the Saber in Muskogee, dont remember what year. But I do remember the first zero P canopy I saw was there and it was a South African canopy all pink and i believe it was called the Reflex. I made 2 jumps on a demo and was going from a 220 pegasus to a 135 zero P eliptical, talk about downsizing. Of course this was way before we were educated in the art of downsizing and I really considered cutting it away...it was going way too fast to possibly land this thing. Hell I still cant find Terms and Conditions, as an outsider and not even from this part of the country, it seems the website is VERY generic in the sense all the answers to the links refer you to call. Aircraft doesn't tell me what kind of aircraft. If I were a visiting Jumper to this area i don't think i would go there.
