I've got about 30 jumps on my mamba 132s now.. loaded at a little under 2:1. This is one responsive canopy. Toggle response is sharp and immediate and the flare is huge. It is just as easy to fly this canopy around using harness input as it is to use toggles or risers. The front riser pressure is very manageable and the rears feel nice and solid giving you excellent control. The canopy has a fairly steep angle of attack but will float pretty well in brakes and I have used the rears to get back from some long spots already. The openings are decent if you are attentive.
I am having so much fun with these canopies that I find myself leaving my funjumps early so I can open high! -
With just about 600 jumps on 2 Pilot 140s loaded at 1.9:1, I find the Pilot to be a very solid canopy. My previous canopies were Stiletto 150s and in comparison, I can swoop the Pilot farther than I could the Stiletto, it opens better and turns as fast. I found the front riser pressure to be quite manageable with good technique. I can consistently get back from the long spots an AFF or tandem video can put me at, open on heading on a birdman jump and then swoop it across the pond.. To me, that is a great all-around canopy. Flat turns and straight in approaches, even downwind landings are also things the Pilot takes in stride.
Bottom line is, the Pilot is one great parachute. -
Voodoo
in Containers
After jumping a Javeline, Mirage G-3 and mirage G-4, I settled on a Voodoo. I couldn't be happier.. It is extremely comfortable.. excellent pin and bridle protection for freeflying and since it is not over-gadgetized, it is easy to pack.. It is in my opinion a well-designed, well-built rig and when the time comes, I am sure my next rig will also be a Voodoo..
