wow, gues what i read was true. haha... I got an old book from the library; Dan Poynter's 'parachuting the skydiver's handbook. 5th edition. .. copyright '89..according to this book, 90% divers have high school diploma, 40% divers finished college, over 20% have attended graduate school. .. my conclusion... too many smart people in skydiving!! oh, and its fun reading this book and seeing how much has changed, and how much is still the same. .. reminds me of my first skydive... "OMG, they just jumped out of an airplane!!! Wait, I'm gonna do that too!!! Ok, so i went to Knott's Berry farm today, on a ride called supreme scream. brings you up high, and then drops you down... http://www.knotts.com/park/tour/brdwalk/imgs/mov/SCREAM_CLIP.mov well, whn it started dropping, without thinking, my arms popped out sideways, palms down, and legs even spread... *went into a sitfly position*. I did not think about doing this, it just kinda happened whenI felt the drop and was sitting. Made me laugh at myself! wow. I learn so much here!!! screw school, i just need to read the bonfire on a daily basis.... so far, i have learned. 2. when going 120 mph, the human body absorbs oxygen through the poors, meaning the persongoing that speed does not need to breath. 3. Get there early, If they got cloud clearance they will send the loads up. nothing wrong with jumping in some 'industrial haze' right? good luck on jumping. does the plane you are on have a flight path over perris by any chance.... perhaps you can somehow bust the door open, and do a dive onto the dz. .. hmmm, you may need a pressure suit and, well, the TSA might take our rights to have rig as carry on away. but its a thought... haha, i remember my first dive.. was more of the.. there is nothing outside the airplane fear... when i was in the door, i would NOT look down, not even a glance.. took a deep breath, check in, out, prop, arch! .. then during the dive, was looking down too much. haha. ..... after aff, my fear has really been takeoff to 1500 feet.. emergency bailout alti.
