Since the site was reorganized to make it more friendly to mobile users I find it really annoying that a lot of functionality seems to involve hovering over a button or icon. I can’t hover on my iPad, so how am I supposed to access that functionality?

I’m an engineer, so I immediately think about how something can work in the real world. If the underlying physics require a pressire measured in the millions of psi, it is not a practical application.

I’m fun at parties. I keep it cool and don’t let the pressure get to me.

Maintaining pressure at that level is easy for very small scale lab applications. For practical applications it will be just as difficult and maintaining temperature, and much for of a safety concern.

Still neat, but not a great leap toward practical applications, IMO.

99.9% of the time it will be someone forgot to check in and left the DZ. Years ago I was on the verge of shutting down a large boogie at my DZ because we couldn't find a wingsuiter who landed off. My buddy and I spent about an hour walking around the area where we believed he landed. We had one of the planes fly over looking, too. Turns out he walked back, threw his gear in his car, and went to lunch. His cell phone battery had died so we couldn't call him, either.

I think you have a common misconception about what Civil Affairs does. The mission is to act as liason between the US military and local nationals in a host country. For instance, in Afghanistan we were the bridge between the US Army and the Afghan people, both government and private citizens. Civil Affairs is not involved in dealing with the US civilian population, or domestic affairs on US soil.

Civil Affairs units could potentially be useful dealing with a migrant caravan, but that's not currently a part of the doctrine.

No, even a very cursory examination of this Q thing shows it is a complete scam. There is really no need to dig any deeper.

Hint: if someone tells you they have a super high level clearance in any other context than a super high level cleared discussion, they are full of shit. Even people with low level clearances know that talking about their clearance in anything but the broadest of terms is a no-no. It's like skydiving. The guy at the bar loudly bragging about his skydiving experience likely doesn't have more than a tandem.

Finally, I did not lie about being a retired special operations officer. I spend eight years in a Reserve Battalion as a Civil Military Operations Officer in the Civil Affairs branch of the Army. Civil Affairs is a Special Operations branch, falling under USASOC. So when someone brags about being Spec Ops remember that's a pretty big umbrella. I never had any back channel access to anything. Neither does any other low level (below 2-3 star general) officer. And the people who do have access to miliraty plans sure as hell aren't talking about it on 8chan.
