  2. Looking for a LONG & quite BIG Freeflying Suit. Any suits available? (on stock or used) Please contact me. Marc, https://www.speed-tracking.com/
  3. TEDx Skydiving Talk "The power of naming your dreams." https://youtu.be/hsh0bdMSTNk I hope you'll like it. Especially the scenes in freefall. Blue sky Marc
  4. Thank you very much, ifell It looks fine to be on top: http://www.paralog.net/ppc/showalltracks.php?sort=speed
  5. Thank you Maksimsf I have no informations about previous records under the same conditions, sorry.
  6. Thank you very much, drunk! May I use this graphs for my website, please? Blue sky Marc
  7. Dear CSpenceFLY You are right, it should be a regular watch. It just has a patented suspension, an automatic movement and a leather strap that looks like the stitches of my rig. And there's this little engraving about the record on the back of the clock. (attached) Cheers and blue sky Marc
  8. thank you virgin-burner I'll answer you in English, because not everyone understands our lovely native Swiss German. I think the small swiss brand Formex is not a real issue for the swatch company. ;_) But anyway: thanks for your nice answer. And blue sky Marc
  9. Thank you very much John, for your questions. You are absolutely right, my exit weight was pretty high. And I had no extra weights with me. Not even a chewing gum. 022 lbs: rig(Vector3/Skyh./Storm190/Optimum193/ Cypres2 007 lbs: suit/ helmet/ shoes/ 2alti/ 2FlySights 240 lbs: my weight; a beer & pasta diets result for 24weeks ---- 269 lbs total weight I'm really impressed how close you came with your calculations. And thanks a lot for all your efforts and achievements in our sport. Blues sky Marc
  10. Oh, I see, dragon2; then I'm sorry. This will be the right place to post it. Excuse me again, please. Marc
  11. Dear warjunky It's quiet hard to find some good sponsors in these times. So I was very lucky to find some. And as long as you don't have Red Bull at your side, you still have to watch out for some additional income by promoting your sponsors efforts. That's part of the deal with sponsors today, I think. Best wishes and blue sky Marc
  12. Dear riggerrob It's just an advertisement based on my freefall record: http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/ My sponsor tried to create a watch that fits into the skydiving world. It's NOT an altimeter and it's not a watch for skydivers in frefall. But sometimes we have to stay on the ground and maybe we need a watch there too. Not to check the ground coming closer, but to check the dates coming closer. I thought it could be a nice idea for skydivers christmas.
  13. Dear Skydivers watch this watch: Formex designed a watch for skydivers: http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/formex-watches/ As I set my world record in Speed Tracking, the Swiss Watch company FORMEX created as my sponsor a Limited Edition of 304 watches. (because the record is 304 km/h, 188.9 mph) The benefit of this sales promotion I'll spend on another skydiving project in 2013. Just get in contact with me if you have any questions - or to order directly. And of course, I'll give you a nice skydivers discount! Thanks and blue sky Marc
  14. Thank you very much, aeroflyer! The glide ratio could be even higher. At the end of the jump, I was playing around and I tried to reduce the fall rate with a kind of "body flare" flying upwards into the sky. There my fallrate was pretty small and it felt like landing myself as a plane. Still need some training to land this in Gary Connery-Style...;-)
  15. Thank you aeroflyer I didn't use any extra-weight. But I was eating a lot for 4 months as a preparation for the record. It was one of the best parts of it!
  16. Thank you Freeflaw Of course, yes: try it with FlySight. And share the results with us, please. Good luck and blue sky!
  17. @dthames I didn't use the audio. The dive part was never vertical. I prefere the idea of getting some foreward speed right from the beginning. The steepest I dove was approx. 60° Have a peed try, Dan. Soon I'll start to collect speed datas from other Speed Tracking skydivers. If there are some horizontal speeders around in the skydiving world. Are there...? Please let me know. Blue sky, Marc
  18. Thank you dthames! I know the problem of returning back to the airfield... On this record, the pilot let all the jumpers exit - then we continued our flight for at least 1 more minute, away from the airflield. Now I could track back all the way in one direction - back home to the landing area. That's pretty cool, I loved it! Have a look at the excel datas of the record: http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/gps-recording/ Mr. Brian Utley from FAI analysed it. He was at Red Bull Stratos in Roswell and he is one of the premier GPS experts in the world. He kindly provided me with a further analysis of the GPS data. See the data fields to the right on the spreadsheet. A quick look shows (see purple highlighted fields): 1) At “time 831.2” (field 481) I exited from the aircraft moving at approximately 125 mph, altitude 4250.7 m MSL, course 072 degrees. 2) At “time 856.2” (field 602), 25.0 seconds elapsed from exit, altitude 2793.5 m MSL, I achieved maximum total velocity of 111.39 m/s = 249.17 mph (that's the "total speed", not the ground speed!) 3) At “time 863.4” (field 638) 32.2 seconds elapsed; after approx. 7 seconds “dive pull-out,” I reached max horizontal velocity of 84.79 m/s = 189.67 mph Best wishes and blue sky Marc
  19. Hi Maxx The wind was less than 30kn. And I flew downwind. FlySight reports the horizontal speed (groundspeed) http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/press/ I was looking for a minimum of wind for this record. It would be interesting to see the results with a nice strong tailwind... We could create a category called "unlimited". There you could climb up to extra altitude and we all could use the best tailwind conditions. Would be quite impressive, that's sure. And for the record in normal conditions it's a good idea to put a certain limit of altutude (let's say 13'000 ft) and a maximum tailwind of 30 kn. - We need a little range of winds up there - otherwise it's quite hard to find 0-wind places for exiting... Then we can really compare the speeds. I'll proove the wind-conditions shortly on the website. For this I created a small facts-sheet, signed by the pilot, the ground crew, a camerman and myself. This should be enough. And of course you can check wheather informations for Empuriabrava at this date. I'm interested in wingsuit-speeds (horizontal) from 12'500 feet exits. Does anyone have some GPS datas? Best wishes & blue sky! Marc (still deeply impressed by RedBull Stratos! - Standing ovation!)
  20. Hi Freeflyers A first World Record has been set on 5/10/2012: 188.9 mp/h (304km/h) Exit altitude: 12'500 ft Wind: less than 30kn on exit. Check out the attached FlySight GPS datas. And here you find the press site with videos: http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/press/ The validation for Guinness Book of records is running. And next week I will create a site where you can post your personal best Speed Tracking results Looking foreward to this! Blue sky Marc
  21. Thanks piisfish Do you have his eMail? Please send it to [email protected]
  22. Thank you Hellis! - Is velH your horizontal speed? - how did you measure it (what kind of device?)
  23. Hi aeroflyer Thanks for your comment. I already use a full face helmet without the camera (you can see it on the banner of the website) and I don't use the tracking-suit anymore. It's too slow because of the drag, when inflated... My goal is to achieve maximum speed without any additional help of optimised aerodynamics. Just a freefly-suit with booties (from sonic) and a normal fullface helmet. No extra weight, no extra speed-shaped helmet. Just me and my body. I would like to give an answer to the question: What's the max. possible horizontal speed in skydiving today. Of course with aditional help of high altitude (and some nice tailwind). Of course you could say: Then it's just a question of heavy tailwind - let's say it's like riding the "fastest wave on water". Of course you need a good technique - but you also need a BIG wave. That's all. And of course - one day another skydiver will break this record in stronger tailwind and with a better style... Looking foreward to this race. One question: Has anyone of you personal datas of his own horizontal speeds in tracking? I would like to have a look at them. Best wishes and happy weekend! marc
  24. Hi folks For the first time, I reached more than 180mph in tracking: http://www.speed-tracking.com/english/gps-recording/ And it's getting faster and faster... I'm interested in your comments about my project.
