  1. I had a similar situation happen to me.... I have a wings container, they have a flap that goes over the reserve risers and a LABEL that states to place main risers on top of this flap. One of the few times i let a packer pack for me, he put the main risers under said flap. Upon opening, everything is all good. Then about 8-10 seconds later, I drop about 6 inches cause the flap had held the main risers and then suddenly released. Just about shat myself!!!
  2. I'm in the same boat as you weight wise(230 in the buff). I've jumped a round once, and I landed hard. It was a 32 ft military round (-1D I believe). I was wondering, if a PC landed better than the military ones? I really liked floating down, was quite and peaceful, just hated the landing. I would like to jump another one, but don't care for hospital trips for ankle X-rays
  3. As gowlerk said, it has been discussed here a few times. That being said, I have had my students wear the handcam before (DZ was giving the videos away free). The videos are almost always crap!! The student usually doesn't think about where it is pointing. Even after you put it in their face, they tend to move it. Hell, look at the pic you posted. What is he getting a shot of... the back of his head.
  4. Mine was about 7 years ago, I believe I waited two weeks. I used goggles back then, and jump with sunglasses now. I have never had a problem with my eyes. Have even jumped without any kind of eye protection on occasion with out issue.
  5. I agree that the flip is easier! I like to do it as well. I have seen a lot of TI's that get in the habit of "timing" the drogue throw though(have even caught my doing it). It's something that I try to keep myself from doing, but is an easy habit to fall into.
  6. Hook up on your knees, if front pair, have the pac put both legs out on the step, then put my left foot on the step(or wheel with break held). If rear passenger, you and pac knee walk towards the front and until the passenger can turn and get both legs out, then do as above...then ready, set, arch arch arch I like to really throw my arms out over my head and tuck my heels on my butt. This usually keeps the pair from doing a front loop. It will usually go "head down" for a second, but if you hold the position it will correct to belly to earth. If you do go over and do a loop, just go with it. When you come around, get big and stable, then drouge :)
