  1. roughed out his rig. When I'm done I bet this would look good on my favorite riggers Crown Royal! steveOrino
  2. Crappy day, today after great Friday & Saturday. I'm working on a BLACK DEATH bottle stopper. I still need to put ring underneath skull. I may paint as well. steveOrino
  3. I hope you have a thick skin, cause it is late, and I've had a few. But here goes:. Why would MY skin have to be thick??? I'm not the one posting drunk! The video is in response to show me a good handcam ... Not a good video. Kim is one of the best. I agree the pre jump is too long for me, but when I asked Kim about that (and the campy music) her reply indicated the Japanese (90% of tandem customers in Guam) like all that crap. I remember my Japanese exchange student taking 1000s of film pictures of stuff I thought was crap, so I guess they know their clientele better than me. This is a good example of a handcam. Is it better than outside? Not the best, but truthfully when Stooby & I became the Tis and left the video oration, it is better than most of the outside flyers. Not every DZ has great vidiots. Our small DZ right now doesn't. IMHO, they jump too little. Anyway, when you sober up, , you'll see this was suppose to be an example of a good handcam (not a good video composition) BTW, I'm a therapist & drug & Alcohol counselor in the real world, give me a call when you decide to stop doing stupid stuff when you are drunk. Just kidding!! steveOrino
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D8DryRf3CEQ Few better than Kim! IMHO steveOrino
  5. Any Master Riggers in the Oklahoma area? I think Greg Gerondale is but he says he doesn't have the machine to do it. steveOrino
  6. Call Stooby at Skydive Airtight in Skiatook, OK. We need a commercial pilot and rigger. OK is a cheap place to live. steveOrino
  7. A friend at the DZ injured herself and her rig was cut off. The lats were cut by the paramedics. Who can repair that? Does it have to be sent back to Javelin or are there others who can fix. Any idea on $ steveOrino
  8. Sorry, but I don't think we need another TM or AFFI with the MINIMUM skills. That is those who typically have one jump or one minute more than the minimum. I do not think it makes for a good instructor. Get a real non skydiving job and have fun skydiving. LEARN. If you decide to go ahead and do this remember me and respond back 2-3 years, and 1000 jumps later and you tell me if you think you were ready. /rant steveOrino
  9. For those Oklahoma State fans. Pistol Pete (with braided hair) steveOrino
  10. I have been cartooning professionally since 1984. I have sold to Sat Eve Post, TV Guide, Good Housekeeping, Better Homes & Gardens, Parachutist, Skydiving, Ebony, and 100s of other smaller magazines. I have also illustrated many books. As far as carving I'm a newb (started last February when we weren't skydiving). I don't even know how to properly sharpen my tools. I've read and watched plenty of videos on the matter but I'm such as kinesthetic learner, I'm not sure I quite get it. steveOrino
  11. Yeah, that's my 'point.' my latest, Frank Eaton "Pistol Pete" Just roughed out. I will add detail later. steveOrino
  12. When our guys can't jump they usually drink. Might not be good to add sharp knifes to the mix. steveOrino
  13. Here is one of my favs so far ... sly dog (for sale on Ebay) steveOrino
  14. Here is a new one I will put on Ebay soon steveOrino
  15. IMHO, the FASTEST way is not the BEST way. I know what you mean, but since I have been around a while I have observed a bit. I waited until I had 1000 jumps before I became a TM, and had 1600 jumps before I came an AFFI. I see people who start teaching at the minimum jump/time required and I think they usually suck. Why be interested in obtaining your Instructor rating as fast you can, but rather why not be the best Instructor you can be? Just my two cents. /rant steveOrino
  16. I did the whole thing in 2-3 hours or so steveOrino
  17. 1100 tandems, one major chucker (all over me) and 2 chucked on themselves. steveOrino
  18. I disagree. I don't take the bible literally as most non fundamental scholars don't. So I would say the story in Joshua is simply man's interpretation of events they cannot explain. I still believe if is preposterous to manipulate a supreme being. steveOrino
  19. But if it didnt "work" 't couldn't at the same time mean that a divine creator doesn't want to be reduced to a genie to prove his existence?? steveOrino
  20. A few more I did this week. steveOrino
  21. No I just started with chisels and wood I found near my house. That is why my early worked sucked. I started using gouges then dremels now knives. Actually I use a combo of all. Google and watch videos by Lynn Doughty. There are helpful. steveOrino
  22. Thank you! I have small carving knifes, but I usually use a sheetrock knife. The blade is always sharp and is flexible. I also use small dremels, sandpaper & steel wool. steveOrino
  23. I started carving pumpkins a few years back and won a national contest. I had carved some tree stumps before; one in 92 and another in 08. But last year I saw a gnome carved from a piece of driftwood and started carving when the weather was bad. I've gotten a little better every month or so. steveOrino
  24. I carved a BS/BD Reaper and placed on Ebay. I know some skydivers don't like the death theme. meh, I do. steveOrino
