  1. Kip’s Lohmiller's passion for skydiving and teaching is incredible and addictive. My husband and I took his AFF-I course this past week. It was exciting, very intense, challenging, educational and fun. Kip has the unique ability to recognize exactly what each candidate needs to succeed. He constantly challenges flying and teaching skills, evaluating at all angles. His approach is about furthering the sport and bringing fresh ideas and techniques to student programs. His knowledge of the manuals and years of expertise and analysis are very evident. We highly recommend this course to anyone interested in obtaining an instructor rating. Our many thanks go out to Kip who gave us exactly what we needed to find in ourselves just what it takes to be an instructor. 4. ONLY 12 DAYS LEFT UNTIL THE NC THANKSGIVING BOOGIE!!!
  5. I think people would be down with the Mr. Potato Head jump. Sounds fun. What does it entail...passing the Mr. Potato Head hoping all the accessories (i.e. eyes, ears, lips, etc) don't fly off? Glad you can make it!!! It's going to be so much fun. ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  6. I don't think there will be any specific sign-ups, but I'm sure the word will get around if you're interested. : ) ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  7. Yeah! We really wanted to have a Cessna 182 as well. : ) You rock! ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  8. Hey! Yes there is camping at the airport. We're hoping to rig up an outdoor shower w/hot water, as there are not indoor showers. There is a campground close by you may want to check out. Just go to the website www.NCboogie.com and click on the Accommodations link. See you there!!
  9. I think we have some damn good Casa pilots lined up so a raft dive can definitely be organized. I think Whitney also has a gravity ball so maybe some can play with that. If someone brings a large hula hoop we can throw that into the mix too! : ) Looking forward to meeting everyone. Pre-register and save time and money!!
  10. It's great to see all this support! Everyone make sure to pre-register at www.ncboogie.com. You'll save some cash! It's going to be a fabulous weekend. Help us spread the word. Tell all of your jump buddies to come out and support the event. We're keeping the Thanksgiving Casa Boogie in NC alive! 11. I have to say that running out the back is awesome, but one of my favorite Casa jumps is to hook arms, face the pilots, and just fall out backwards. Keep your body stiff and enjoy the hill! Are you up for that?
  12. That would be great! If you could pass the info on to your contacts it would be very much appreciated. Thanks!! : ) Melissa ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  13. That would be awesome Simon!! Thanks so much for doing that!
  14. A Casa is a tailgate aircraft that holds approximately 32-34 jumpers. Tons of fun!! 15. Melissa and Keith were initially devastated by the closing of CSS. We have spent every weekend there for the past 3 1/2 years. We did everything we could to keep the DZ alive, and support the growth of the sport. We will not abandon this mission just because Paul and Nancy are retiring. The energy continues and grows daily. As we write this, there is a group of empowered CSS'ers that are taking the ball and running. A new DZ will open, and it will happen soon. It may be a few weeks or months, but we will all jump together again soon in the triangle area! We love our family from CSS, and everyone else that visited and jumped with us. The future is bright.... we will build a better DZ, No Doubt :) Stay tuned! Love, and blue skies, the Flying Majeroni's ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  16. Carolina Sky Sports will be offering Balloon Jumps at the upcoming Thanksgiving boogie, November 22-25. If you are interested, sign-ups are at manifest. There will also be RW and freefly organizing throughout the weekend. Hope to see you there!!
  17. I heard it was at the Northeast Raleigh airport or something like that. Isn't that CSS? ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  18. I thought I would post this because I don't have everyone's email address! Please reply to [email protected] It's a fockin' birthday party!! Please come and celebrate Keith's birthday with us at Frankie's Fun Park this Saturday, February 24th. Back by popular demand, this fun complex also contains a very nice Italian restaurant. Reservations for dinner will be made for 7:30, and will be followed by lots of fun in the park. Check out the Frankie's Link Below for more information and directions to the facility. If you would like to join us for dinner, please email me sometime this week to let me know that you're coming. If you don't want to come for dinner, come after for games in the park. No presents please . . . just your presence. : ) BTW . . .Casey girl I miss you so much!! Congrats on finishing boot camp. BTW#2 . . . the Chili cook-off was totally rigged. I mean, two CSS employees winning?! What are the chances of that?!? Next year I'm bringing the really Damn Hot Chili in a mini crock pot. We'll see who's crying then . . . : ) ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  19. I hope you're having a blast on your road trip! I want to see some pictures of the MOAB boogie when you return. Have a lot of fockin' fun! : ) me ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  20. Okay folks that covers the "Three (3)" events thing. Lets not have anyone else get hurt PLEASE.... ______________________________________ Harry P That's exactly what I was saying at the DZ last weekend when Whitney got hurt! I'm doing better with the help of my 10 lb walking boot thing. If I get any rude comments I just kick someone. The PT has been doing wonders for my recovery. I won't be at the DZ this weekend. It was really hard last weekend to sit out there and watch everyone else jump, however wonderful to hang out with great friends. I'm itching to jump soon . . . I miss everyone lots! I hope you all have a fabulous weekend. XO, me ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  21. What are the dates for the Chester Boogie? When do you think you'll head down? Let us know. Is Scott Miller's canopy course that weekend too? Hope everyone had a great weekend. On an odd note, Melissa1 and Melissa2 both got bit by that new 206. Recommendation to all: don't try to get on that stupid step! Ouch! ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  22. It's basically a wind tunnel for rafting and kayaking. We should try to get a trip together some weekend... maybe go rafting one day and visit Chester the other? ----------------------------------------------------------- Hey that sounds pretty cool Eric! Count me in! ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
  23. Hey Harry, I was upset to hear about your injury at the Farm. I hope your surgery went well. Get well soon and keep us posted!
  24. I know a bunch of people who jump stilettos and I hear mixed things about the openings. Most of them have pretty high wing loadings and jump stilettos that are much smaller than a 170. I recently found a stiletto 170 for sale and was wondering what kind of info was out there for this size Stiletto. My wing loading would be about 1:1, and I have 400+ jumps. I'm a pretty conservative canopy pilot. Any info would be helpful. Thanks! ~ Melissa ~ "Life is too short to walk the same cautious path as everyone else."
