  1. You guys want to tell me why it takes 3 people to get the air out of a canopy? And, is that the shocker? Why did this get on my PC here? Ugggh being a DZO is tough. jumpervali

  6. Good job Mike! Too many times the commissions get the old boy attitude, and try to pinch us out of aviation. It's nice to stand up and say hell no! I've done it and it took a lot of work. It's very easy to get tired. Then you look at the people around you and just do what is necessary. We all have a right to our airports. You guys make skydiving what it is, thank you for your love of this sport too. We dzo's need it to keep up our energy. jumpervali
  7. Repetition is the mother of skill. Look at wasted movement. Use your body as a tool and let it do the work. Remember you have hands and feet. Do it the same everytime and you will get fast. jumpervali
  8. Though I don't pack for myself all the time now I'm still ahead in packs verses jumps. I'm old and tired, so it takes me longer to pack. Like 5 min for my rig and 11 for a tandem. It's nice to have help though. jumpervali
  9. Here are the last two pictures of Preston Ford skydiving. He had just freefell with a student that had worked hard and long to become a skydiver too. It doesn't take much to see the joy on his face knowing he had good news to share with her. Blues Preston jumpervali
  10. Preston was on the load when I made my first jump many years ago. He was there on the 4 way for my falcon and double falcon in 96. He was there for my 500th when the 15 way happened over Rome for the "first" time. He help me find my first cutaway canopy. And, yes later I was able to validate his ratings for him. He taught me leg turns before the mantis was a known posture. Thanks to the help and inspiration of people like Preston we all grow as jumpers. Like us all he came with flaws, but that's not what you think of at times like this. I saw him in his best form just last week as he graduated a student here. Nan you are a wonderful woman and I know you'll always remember him too. He loved this sport and loved sharing it too! I'm happy that you were such a good student for him to work with. Blues Preston, I will always remember you. jumpervali
  11. Oh, and to the "a" hole that stole my car you will see a scarface reenactment. Christine loves me and will be back. Sorry just needed to vent jumpervali

  13. Jello Jay, I will have all my cloths on for the training and after too. So, you don't have to worry. I'm old remember? And an uptight DZO. Shit someone stole my car today. I will whip the shit out of the "A" hole that took my 67 convertible firebird. Dang it I'm pissed! jumpervali
  14. Is that lipstick on your ducttape? jumpervali
  15. Now I know how that shower rod got broke here. You folks play nice! jumpervali
  16. Hey jumpchikk Please keep the loads to 5 or less. The showers can't hold anymore without offsetting the "c" of "g" and becoming dangerous. Remember it's all about safety first. jumpervali
  17. Please remember guys no more than 5 in the shower at one time. I don't want to know who is the loofa...enjoy jumpervali
  18. As it stands it looks very promising that the "short bus" will be rocking it's way down there. I get first dibbs on the seat next to the "electric Casa exit practice ramp." Talk about a pimpin' ride! jumpervali
  19. Good to see you back in the air! Now get up and out of my office you dead beat. jumpervali
  20. Congratulations E! I knew you could do it. jumpervali
  21. Way to go, just one day at a time! FOB DOB 8-28-95 jumpervali
  22. I had the same reaction as Ron. After 2500+ jumps finding myself passing 1200 feet I responded with the quickest natural reaction. A main deployment. I didn''t have an AAD, so I wasn't concerned with 2 out during my 7 second parachute flight. Mental review of procedure is critical, and visualizing the is procedures important. Also touching and mimicking the movements are a great drill during your handles check. BUT The most important thing you must do on any skydive is pull, so get your fabric out and think about it later, because you can. jumpervali
  23. Keep it up to date at least until you have all the ratings you will be ever wanting. Trust me be will be needing it if you go for an AFF, or Tandem rating. Then you will start logging DZ paperwork, and student log books on top of you own. Just get used to it. jumpervali
