  1. Actually it's been 7+ years since this question was posted. I jumped until my boobs got too big for me to see my chest strap. Fortunately the boy was born without that third eye that our first doctor predicted. He wants to be a pilot.
  2. I obviously jumped, and there were no injuries to either mama or baby. Unless you count our child's undying love for all things flying & skydiving as a defect . . .
  3. Not kidding. She had been my OB/GYN for a couple years before we got pregnant, and even walked us through a failed pregnancy. She was an idiot.Quote
  4. No he didn't. **************** Yes, in fact SHE did. Which is precisely why I did seek a second opinion. And although I never called you ignorant, your continuation of this conversation belabors the point.
  5. That might be why she's not married to you That, and about a half dozen other reasons!!
  6. Fuck dad? That's how I got knocked up in the first place! Hubby did get a vote and was all for my continued jumping. We both decided I was okay to continue until my body told me to stop. We also agreed to restrictions on who I jumped with. Once my breasts got so large I couldn't see or fasten my chest strap, it was time to stop. And now that the Little Guy is here, we have an agreement not to go up on the same load together anymore. Just in case.
  7. I came as close to that as I could find. My OB is a scuba diver & a rock climber, so she understood our lifestyle and the level of activity my body was used to.
  8. I'll be glad to send you pictures. Just to prove all these asshats wrong - jumping during pregnancy CAN be done safely and without harm to the baby.
  9. lol. Obviously you don't know me. Me NOT jumping is hazardous to the health of everyone around me. It saves us lots and lots of money in psychotherapy and counseling. You've heard of the women who have post-partum depression and end up killing their entire families? I only know of one cure for that when it comes to my brain, and that is skydiving! I look at it as a necessity. And seeing as how our child is now 4 years old and my marriage is still going strong, I'd say we made the right decision. When you become pregnant, you can make your own choice.
  10. Psssst. Your ignorance is showing. The whuffo doctor actually suggested that my child would be born with a third eye in the middle of his forehead if I continued to jump. I feel pretty comfortable calling bullshit on that one. Our son survived my horrible torture of skydiving while pregnant, and is now a healthy, happy, vibrant 4 year old. Who, by the way, happens to have inherited a love for flying. Oh yeah, and he only has two eyes.
  11. lol. I kept jumping, but I stopped driving because that is much much more dangerous than my canopy control!
  12. Um . . . way to jump in in a timely manner. For the record, our son had many in-utero jumps and is a happy, healthy, thriving 4 year old who wants nothing more than to be a pilot for his mommy and daddy.
  13. Hey Billy! Yes, I still consider myself an active jumper, but since Monroe closed down it's much much harder to get ourselves to the DZ. We have a minimum 2 hour drive each way, which - despite what recent entries would suggest - we, as good parents, think is too much to ask of the Little Guy. Quote Hopefully we'll get to jump together again soon. (Just because I love all the video shots you got of my crotch!)
  14. I have just learned I am pregnant, and my doctor has grounded me. I think this is whuffo bullshit! Can anyone out there please let me know your experiences with skydiving while pregnant, good or bad, and how far into your pregnancy you jumped. If there are any medical types out there, I would love to have your input as to any unique risks to the baby that skydiving might pose. Thanks! Marci. P.S. Since I won't be downsizing anytime soon: Brand new Spectre 120 for sale. Purple and black with hot pink ribs. Never even got to take it out of the bag!
