So I've been helping a buddy from work finish his basement for the past few months. I started when it was nothing but concrete, and now, aside from a few finishing touches, its a damb nice basement suite. I never asked for anything in return for my services, other than a few beers to make the work go smoother. Well yesterday he was telling me how much he appreciated my help, and I said its not a problem, your just lucky I don't have a car, cause I'd be out jumping instead, and BANG!!!, he offers me a lend of his porsche to go jumping next weekend. I'm gonna be arriving in style. I guess good things do come to those who wait

Howdy all, I'm just tryin to kill my lunch hour, and a few hours after this, I'm leavin work, and not comin back for 10 days

Anybody who knows shit about computers? My roomates comp is kinda iffy with graphics...Sometimes it'll show pics okay, and sometimes they come out really pixelly, and sometimes they're fine. I tried changing the coulor settings in the display setup from 'high colour(16bit)' to '256 colour', and that worked for a while, but now it's back to the same old shit. I was gonna change out the video card, but it's built into the mother-board, and there aren't any PCI slots. Plus, I can't do anything to the video settings if I run setup at boot. anybody got any suggestions? They'd be appreciated, -Whuffo you sit on that couch all day? Roger

I once was leaving the campfire in a bit of a haze to go fertalize the bushes. Made a wrong turn and walked straight into the wingtip extension on our C206. I woke up underneath the plane a few hours later, crawled into the hanger and passed out. -Whuffo you sit on that couch all day? Roger

It could be a hell of a lot worse. 4 weeks on the ground is nothing, you'll be back in the air before you know it. Just remember, it's worth staying on the ground as long as it takes to make it safe for you to jump again. Don't rush yourself back, or you'll just make it worse. As for piling in on a student rig, at least it's one mistake you'll never make again

One thing I am wondering about is if they ask how the Cypres works. As I understand it, there is an explosive reaction that propels the cutter through the closing loop, and 'explosive' probably isn't the best word to use at an airport security counter. I think I'll have somebody come to the airport with me, and if my rig doesn't ride with me, it stays in Calgary. 'That's one case of beer I was more than glad to buy' Roger

So I'm going back east for the first time in almost 2 years, and I wanna do some jumping back there. I'm just wondering if anybody has tried to get on a commercial flight with a rig lately, and how it went...I hate the thought of my Cypres being thrown around under the plane, so I'd like to take it carry-on if possible. Also, anybody in here jump in N.S., Canada. I'm hitting Skydive Unlimited in Stewiake for a couple days, and it'd be cool to meet up with some DZ.comers out there. My rig is inspected, packed, and sitting in my fucking lap!!! It fits even better with the canopies in it!!! I'm sooooo pumped, I'll be lucky if I don't quit my job just so I can go to the DZ before the weekend. hehehe ROGER
