  1. Each rating holder must conduct a minimum number of student training jumps each year to meet the renewal requirements, except for the first partial year of holding the rating. See Section 1 of each course syllabus in the Instructional Rating Manual to find the rating renewal requirements. I think AFF is 15 student jumps per year, unless it was increased, but I'm not going to buy the manual to find out the exact number. I don't think there are any "performance" standards. Do you have any suggestions as to minimum peformance? Being there is an outside force (the student), how do you judge them? judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  2. Not the men I know, nor the men I have had conversations with in many a locker room. Nor either one of my two sons. You may want to upgrade the people you hang around with. Cause the ones I hang around with don't brag about committing sexual assault. Well isnt that just special. I said most. and most would never say in front of a women and most real men wouldn't keep a stupid recording for that long, but then again sooo many people don't have life. Why is what Trump SAID so much worse than what Bill has DONE? Do you hang out with a bunch of loser women who put up with a cheating HUSBAND for years and years and years and years? That is what you saying when you decided to degrade the people i hang out with. But I'm happy to be a deplorable instead of whatever that is. 3. Only those who show contempt for the millions of voters who supported should see the contempt they espouse. Yeah, voting for a guy who brags about grabbing women by the pussy is indeed not worthy of contempt. Personally I think that Trump being elected says a lot about your country. Not much of it positive. I'll be in San Diego this weekend. Will be interesting the gauge the mood over there. LOL...What Trump has said about women most every man has said. Most men have not DONE what Bill has done to women and a real strong women would never put up with being humiliated in front of the whole world. But that is just my opinion. 4. Ed Scott's quote. "If you don't find a location listed on our site, you don't know what you're getting, we don't know what their standards are. The important factor with tandem skydiving is the experience and certification of the tandem instructor.” Which I think even you would agree that the point he was making is that tandem instructors are certified to work at GM DZs. How do we know they are certified? Aren't some of the TI's in question doing jumps at Group Member DZ's? Obviously the USPA has no way of verifying anything or this would not have happened. Weren't the tandems that fell out of the harnesses at Group Member DZ's? Even a Board Member's DZ? Pretty apparent the certification means nothing, but that is not the impression Ed gave to the press and the general public is it. 5. "If you don't find a location listed on our site, you don't know what you're getting, you don't know what the standards are," Scott said. May not be an outright lie, but not gives the false impression to the unknowing that all the DZ's they find on their website are safe. 6. lay off your rubbish. Ed scott is a great guy and has a job to do, and he did (and does) it well. I guess that is your opinion. My experience(s) with him have been less than okay, far away from him being a "great" guy. What other locations did these guys certify people at? Were they USPA GM dz's? Is that why they didn't list any other dropzone names? but did say other locations. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  7. Even if 1/4 of it is true/accurate or unexaggerated, the TI crossed the line. I guess if they ever give her the video she paid for - an unedited version, we could get some facts. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  8. Just wondering if the GM pledge covers sexual assault? Just noticed a recent review of a GM dropzone. I sent the reviewer a message to make sure she contacts the USPA (ed, Chuck and Shawna). Hope they investigate these claims and take appropriate action. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  9. So what is false about that statement? Given that all standards are minimum standards, what is false about that statement? It gives the non-knowing person a false sense of security that ALL USPA GM dropzones are safer than ALL non-group members. Though what was quoted may not be literally false, it has false implications, and IMO, was malicious. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  10. Great bumper sticker, now care to answer the question? How is a GM DZ actually held to a higher standard? Does the USPA audit GM DZ's? You think Lodi could sign a piece of paper and pay some money and become a GM? And exactly where does the FAA require a DZ to be a GM? If I don't take a Flight Review every 2 years does that make me a bad pilot? Maybe, maybe not, but it is indicative of attitude. See Section 2-5 of the following: www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handbooks_manuals/aviation/media/pilot_handbook.pdf I had an email exchange with Ed Scott regarding all this and still want him fired. His big thing was the GM DZ's pledge to adhere to the BSR's. Does that mean that I don't need to be a member of the USPA if I jump at a GM DZ? They should have all that covered under their group membership right? Am I not expected, as a USPA member to adhere to the BSR's? It is total BS. 15. Oh Okay. We should just tell them we can't breathe in freefall too. I guess the more mis-information the better huh. unless they're just buying a rig and teaching themselves - it's the school's, and the instructors', job. You are right, they should just fly like Superman, do at least 5 minutes of freefall from 8 grand like in the movies, and wait for the AAD to DEPLOY their parachutes. Why bother with 2 parachutes and pilot chutes, its just away for the gear companies to make more money telling you need 2. Skydiving is super safe. Its all just information. 17. It is not inaccurate considering the context of the preceding two sentences: ***All skydivers now carry reserve chutes in case something goes amiss with the first one (it rarely does). Even if you find yourself paralyzed with fear in midair, you’re likely not going to plunge to your death. A small gizmo called an automatic activation device, or AAD, will blast the canopy open for you when you reach a predetermined altitude. If an AAD isn't intended to open your reserve parachute if you're too paralyzed with fear to do so, what then is an AAD there for? It activates it...does not open it. There is a difference. You AAD could activate and your reserve may not open. j Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  18. " A small gizmo called an automatic activation device, or AAD, will blast the canopy open for you when you reach a predetermined altitude." I find the above statement to be inaccurate. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  19. It was better written than many articles over the years, but they down-played the dangers of skydiving too much. I did find the "membrane" reference kinda funny though. Made me think of alien skin. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  20. I completely agree. They sure downplayed the dangers of skydiving. Sure hope it doesn't come back to bite them or others that were quoted. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  21. I got same response from "larry clark". I have asked him for his son's dropzone because the skydiving community is very small and I don't want a bad reputation for selling gear to someone that would not be appropriate for them. I am still waiting for a reply. Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  22. I've sent them an email about purchasing a line set and they responded in like 5 minutes. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  23. AFF Instructors. Anyone else see the the problem with the picture on the back inside cover of Parachutist this month and the fact that they are using it for sports promotion? Why is main side still hanging on? Maybe its really not an AFF jump but it sure looks like one. I realize no one is perfect, but publishing that picture as a sports promotion is wrong. Does someone at the USPA who "knows better" not review this stuff? Yes, I have brought this to the attention of my Regional Director. 24. Ummmm...that wasn't me that was Jean-Paul being nice (about Tom and Albert)...I complained about the executive committee as a whole. Just wanted to clarify and give credit where credit is due. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
  25. Jean-Paul I am not saying they are all bad, because I know they are not. We just don't have enough good ones to make the changes that I would like to see happen. Good luck in the elections. Judy Be kinder than necessary because everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle.
