    Yeah, unfortunately my skydiving days are over. I've been reduced to living vicariously through my friends.

  3. I'm making a t-shirt quilt for a friend who did a skydive in every state. She gave me t-shirts that she collected while jumping in different states. I've been able to identify the location of all but one t-shirt... Skydive Parkton.

    Does anyone know where that is?

  4. Jen was one of the most kind, generous, giving, smart, and funny people that I have ever met. I always had a great time with her and Chad. My face always hurt from smiling and laughing so much around them.

    One of my favorite memories is when she came to the area and she let her best friend spend the weekend "turning her into a girl." I tagged along, and we went shopping for party clothes for her, we all got a foot massage and pedicure, she cut her long hair to donate, and we laughed the night away with skydiver friends at a restaurant telling funny stories.

    She recently mentioned that we would do that again the next time she came to town after offering to help me with my recent surgery from two states away.

    My heart hurts at this news. My prayers are with you Chad. The world will never be the same without Jen, but she certainly left it a better place than it would have been without her.

    p.s. Bolas, she turned me into Pelthead No. 25.

    Oriental Cole Slaw

    6 Green Onions, sliced
    1 head Cabbage (chopped fine) or 2 large bags Cole Slaw Mix
    2 packages Top Ramen Noodles (crushed fine) – omit seasoning mix
    ½ cup Slivered Almonds (brown under the broiler or a minute or two)
    ½ cup Sesame Seeds (brown with almonds)

    Dressing:

    4 tablespoons Sugar
    2 teaspoons Salt
    ¾ cup Canola Oil
    1 teaspoon Ground Pepper
    6 tablespoons Rice Vinegar

    Mix dressing and add to other ingredients just before serving. You can easily cut this recipe in half and also you can mix the dressing earlier in the day and refrigerate until ready to use.

    Abolutely! I just hand addressed 699 Christmas cards at work. I'd refuse to do it if they were glitter cards.

    I just opened a glitter card at the office. :S Why would anyone choose a card with glitter all over it? Can you imagine how the room looks where the cards were prepared?

  19. Absolutely... That's why we are good at our jobs. One of my boss' once said that everywhere I go order is created.

    I'm rereading a book from 1993 that you might be interested in. It's called "Excess Baggage" Getting Out of Your Own Way; Overcoming the Blind Spots That Make Your Life Harder Than It Has to Be by Judith Sills, Ph.D. I thought it was worth a years worth of therapy the first time I read it.

    Besides revealing my own blind spots, it lets me understand why people with other types of personalities do the things that they do. I highly recommend it.

    Absolutely true for me. The longer that I have to anticipate the vacation, the better. I've never understood spontaneity.

    What is equally enjoyable is the remembering afterwards. The actual vacation is my least favorite part.

    I had to look up what a Fabio book cover was. Do you mean the pictures on the cover of romance novels? :|

    There are quilting methods that use photographs as the basis for fabric art. If I ever take one of those classes, I'll ask you to send me a picture of yourself. :D
