  1. I dont quite understand the part that says the security guards cut his parachute. Does that mean they pulled the cutaway handle or literally cut through the harness?
  2. You know how it goes... skin on skin or I'm not going in.
  3. Just curious. Guys, please, don't answer :D Thanks!
  4. Anyone that uses either a 201 or 101, how do you use it? The Paralog website says to turn off the GPS after landing and NOT save the track. However, when you go jump again, won't the track get overwritten? Any help appreciated.
  5. Cool. I just got a Foretrex 201 and haven't had the chance to play with it yet. However, I signed up for Google Earth Plus so I could upload the GPS track into it. Any way you can save the track files and upload them somewhere?
  6. Um... sorry to be anti skydiving-should-be-all-in-your-life, but shouldn't you be worrying about the quality of the school and have that as your number 1 reason to pick from?
  7. Thanks for the response guys. I'm with PW on that... I rather get sued after helping someone clear their throat than watch them choke to death and not do anything in fear of getting in trouble.
  8. Anyone have any info on how many G's a body would experience when hitting the ground with nothing out?
  9. Ok... what about who has the most FUN jumps? No work/competition stuff.
  10. To me that's I-would've-crapped-my-pants-close. Now, this is something I have to mention: Reading that kinda disturbs me. I mean, The guy has less than 100 jumps, and so do I. I 'really' don't consider good advice when someone tells me its better to get below 2.3k than to open w/o tracking. I mean, seriosuly, 2.3 is most likely under the guys hard deck, and now you're telling him it's ok to open lower than that, rather than track? All the above is just me... sorry.
  11. I was able to download it from the main website just fine. Just try using a downloader like GetRight or something that can resume.
  12. For sure has to be that dude that posts here. His jump count says something like 9999999.
  13. To reply to your post, it'd be great to add tunnel time in there, but prices for a course are already so much, plus the tunnel... it would for sure turn off A LOT more people than it already does. I started with a tandem, never thinking I'd like to be a skydiver. I liked it so much, and my DZ has a special that if you buy the second tandem the same day (you can use it whenever) it's much cheaper, so I bought it. Thinking "what the heck" I used it the same day, on the next load. After that I did IAF and failed many levels... maybe 3 of the 9, got the rest done as fast as I could, and now here I am :D What I would like to see implemented in the course? More canopy training, that's it. Just like the instructor is with you in freefall, it'd be nice to make it if he'd be with you under canopy as well, and have you perform certain manuevers, etc.
  14. Wow! Any more vids like this? Any way to save this one?

    BASE game

For a line over you hold 2 and linetwists you hold Q and E to kick out of em.
  16. It's the closest thing to the real deal out there, ok? So leave me alone. (Only 2 ppl in my fatality list so far)
  17. It's pretty realistic... I mean, it even collapses the correct side of the canopy when it falls to either the left or right.
  18. ok, I found this on the BASE forum so im bringing it here. I didn't see it until i ventured over there, so no one else misses it... http://d3company.com/base.html Enjoy!

    BASE tracking

The link at the bottom of the article doesn't work. Anyone have it?
  20. what was your 1st cutaway?
  21. So how is that made? Just a big hole in the ground with plastic so the water doesn't seep through?
  22. Quade: You're right that the normal traffic would be crossing the final line of the swooper, BUT at that point the normal traffic would be on their base leg, while the swooper is already on final. The idea behidn it, for that graphic to work, is that the swooper MUST do whatever he does OUTSIDE of the box, so when he enters the box he's pretty much already on the deck. ---------------------------------------------------- jacketsdb23: What if the straight pattern flyer, with his aggressive 90, does it so he ends up on either side of the LZ? I know what you mean about having the different left/right patterns I drew, that's probably a bad idea. I guess I put it to show that either way, left-handed or right-handed would work. It wasn't intended to show both going on at the same time. I like your PFD. However, wouldn't that require a 'very' large LZ? When I made mine I had my LZ in mind... and tried to keep from having to add area to it. But yes, I guess the main idea behind both is that the swoopers do whatever turns they want OUTSIDE the box, and come in the LZ already on the ground. Here are the links to both pictures mentioned above: Mine: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=81706; jacket: http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?do=post_attachment;postatt_id=81711;
