  1. Alex, go ahead. If you want to take it to PMs it's fine... if not then post here.
  2. I understand about doing things like going over the dive over and over again so it's just a matter of doing what's in your head. However, I don't really have a problem with remebering the sequence. What usually happens when I get there before each jump I just look at the dive flow and go over it on the way up, then just perform it. Am I supposed to have any instructional material? The only thing I have is the dive flow from my second jump, that's it. I don't really know what happens on my first solo... I think it's just doing PHTs and concentrating on being stable. Did the DZ give you the material, Alex, of did you get it yourself?
  3. Just did my level 3 tandem today. On the parachute ride down with my instructor I got a "that was a f*cking good jump!" I had to do 360deg turns (which were awesome) and forward motion. On the last jump I remember I only really concentrated on my arms, pulling them back. This time I made sure I worked my arms AND my legs... I felt like Superman.
  4. Thank you for the clarification. And yes, both my jumps have been tandems. I'm doing the IAF course, which is first three tandems and then 6 instructor-assisted.
  5. I'm sorry, but what does it mean exactly by having the lines twised? Does it mean that the right/left lines are switched but with the parachute fully open? or is the parachute not fully deployed?
  6. Hey I can relate to that fear at the door. I've only jumped twice, and both jumps, the scariest part was taking the kneeling down baby-steps to the door while hooked up to the instructor and just being there for the few seconds before jumping. Everything else has been cake. I can't wait to go jumping again (possibly this weekend) and then the tandem part can be over and done with. What happened on your first jump, jim? Edit: nevermind, found your post.
  7. On the second tandem, where you have to do a sequence of movements, my instructor told me that even though I had only like 10 minutes to learn them, just to visualize the routine in my head while we were climbing. I did but only a couple of times, and then on the actual dive I messed up the order. He said it was a damn good jump, but the reason I messed up the order was because I didn't practice it in my head enough.
  8. Hey all! I had my first jump this past saturday, and simply loved it. I had to go ahead and jump again, starting the course to eventually get certified. I'm trying to find out if there's any kind of training that might help one with skydiving (besides tunnel time), when not actually doing it. I did a search here and found things like Yoga, endurance training, etc... but I'm looking more to see if there's any kind of specific exercises (like practicing body positions in the water or something). Thank you!
