  1. PR has been kicked by US administrations, US law and natural disasters for a while. Puerto Rico’s $123 Billion Bankruptcy Is the Cost of U.S. Colonialism https://theintercept.com/2017/05/09/puerto-ricos-123-billion-bankruptcy-is-the-cost-of-u-s-colonialism/
  2. I like his effort as well and there is nothing wrong with rich. I admire Warren Buffet and Bill Gates. Although I threatened Gates life on many occasions while cursing my PC during Windows 1.0,3.0,95 etc. The fairness they exhibit in business dealings and philanthropic deeds. Are an example for all. Its powerful corporations, institutions and powerful people. That need to be watched and controlled. Politics is like a metronome it swings back and forth to the center. Republicans and democrats need leadership that recognizes the center. While targeting the best interests of the US not pandering to their direct electorate.
  3. Can we all just take a moment and look at what your people think is "real news"? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmqxM0D-i-wis this for real or is it a parody? I've never heard his program but I've seen transcripts of other segments. It rings true. Now take one hour of his program and add to it the story in the other current thread on fixing facebook: https://washingtonmonthly.com/magazine/january-february-march-2018/how-to-fix-facebook-before-it-fixes-us/ The two separate elements would be a good 1/2 credit college course on how partisan divisive politics works. It would cover the spectrum from young to old. Only missing the religious right. Its an old formula. -label an enemy -hammer him with false accusations -mix fear and a call to action into the story line The hope is that democrats don't swing as hard to the left when the trump era ends.
  4. Yeah? Do you see any similarities between your HUNDREDS of posts parroting Fox and Brietbart and this situation? Pot? Meet kettle. I think he was talking about this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Parotid_gland Of course he meant that. Its the opposite of the Xerostomia that trump experiences every day. When he thinks about upcoming cross examinations by Mueller. Ya'll think you're so smart and try to make fun of my man but something being "parotid" per the wiki link reference is to speak while excessively salivating with a foaming mouth as if they are rabid and unthinking and sick in the head. Also look up "How liberals speak", it's the same thing. Touche, but trump and his gang of narcissists are the only precursors to red eyes and foaming mouth syndrome. Furthermore, democrats are more ideologically flexible in the current polarized US climate. McCain more popular among Dems than Republicans, CNN poll shows http://www.cnn.com/2017/12/19/politics/mccain-cnn-ssrs-poll/index.html "We often talk about our politics as “ideological.” But one of the most consistent political science findings is that few Americans are actually ideologues. A narrow slice of high-information elites (maybe 15 to 20 percent of the population overall, though no doubt a much higher percentage of Vox readers) has a consistent set of political principles that come ahead of partisan identity. But most people don’t pay as close attention to politics. For most people, partisanship is the cue to help them figure out where they stand on the issues. " https://www.vox.com/polyarchy/2017/9/22/16345194/republican-party-pathological Certainly the last sentence in the quote above explains the thinking of one frequent poster here, a rabid trump fan.

  6. I've never watched any of her shows. She is qualified. Although I'd like to hear some sort of comprehensive political agenda. She is not stupid. "Oprah attended Tennessee State University on a full scholarship she had won based on her communication skills. In 1973, she graduated with a degree in Speech Communications and Performing Arts. http://biography.yourdictionary.com/articles/where-oprah-winfrey-go-school.html#DR5TLXbpHQkpGs3M.99 Reagan was a a cheerleader, studied economics and sociology, at Eureka College. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ronald_Reagan further: https://www.fastcompany.com/3051589/the-key-to-oprah-winfreys-success-radical-focus
  7. I rely, respect the opinions of professionals and scientists. -Preoccupied with fantasies of unlimited success -Belief of great self-importance; only understood and should only associate with individuals of high-status -Expectations of being realized as superior -In need of and requiring constant admiration -Exaggeration of achievements and talents -Possessing a sense of entitlement -Being envious of others and the exaggerated belief that others are envious of you -Thinking about oneself the majority of the time and talking about oneself a lot; self-promotion -Setting of unrealistic goals -Expectation that others should do special favors for you -Belief that nobody should question your motives and should have unwavering compliance with your requests -Taking advantage of others to move forward in life and/or to get what you want, with no remorse toward the ones you stepped on to get there -Arrogance, haughtiness -Easily rejected, hurt -Unemotional -Power seeking -Demonstrates superiority -Responds to criticism with shame, anger, and humiliation- -Easily jealous Oh, my mistake, those are the symptoms of Narcissistic Personality Disorder. https://www.psycom.net/personality-disorders/narcissistic/ https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/narcissistic-personality-disorder/symptoms-causes/syc-20366662 https://www.vox.com/science-and-health/2018/1/5/16770060/trump-mental-health-psychiatrist-25th-amendment Perhaps Miller, Bannon, trump Jr., et al, can explain the gender equation.
  8. I agree the game is fixed. Large corporations get away with criminal acts where the shareholders take a hit and executives get the golden parachutes. It occurred under Obama and is expanded now under trump. Look at the mortgage disaster and Wall Street. The Wells Fargo accounts scam. On and on. They should make money but a corporate shield of personal liability is created by lobbyists and CASH.
  9. Without the Ozone Treaty You’d Get Sunburned in 5 Minutes Turning 30 this month, the Montreal Protocol was a landmark September 25, 2017 environmental success that serves as a model for addressing other problems, although it also has some unfinished business. https://news.nationalgeographic.com/2017/09/montreal-protocol-ozone-treaty-30-climate-change-hcfs-hfcs/ 'Great success': Scientists salute Montreal Protocol for shrinking ozone hole American scientists say they now have “direct proof” that links the shrinking ozone hole over the Antarctic to the Montreal Protocol, the worldwide effort started in the 1980s to ban production of ozone-depleting chemicals. “This is very encouraging news,” said Kimberly Strong, a professor of atmospheric physics at the University of Toronto. “This study provides clear evidence that the Montreal Protocol is working.”... The U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) previously reported that the ozone hole, which forms over the Antarctic every September, grew to only 19.6 million square kilometres in 2017 (about 2.5 times the size of the United States), the smallest it had been in 30 years. Had the world not intervened and allowed CFC production to continue unabated, some projections have suggested 17 per cent of the world’s ozone would’ve been destroyed by 2020 and 67 per cent by 2065. Skin cancer rates would have “soared.” “It’s a nice reminder that the danger was not oversold — it really was a big problem — but we solved it,” Tarasick said. http://nationalpost.com/news/canada/great-success-scientists-salute-montreal-protocol-for-shrinking-ozone-hole
  10. I'm most familiar with truck campers, about the same size. Advantages of small trailers are: - allow you to use smaller fuel efficient tow vehicles which are more often the primary mode of transport. - allow you to lock up valuables in your campsite. - allow effective heating - allow reasonable place to cook and clean dishes. - allow you to get out of inclement weather. You can strap bikes, surfboards and other cargo carriers to them as well. IMO far superior to tent trailers. Which in turn are superior to tents. They are generally in very high demand. Boler trailers sell for more today than what they did originally. As do VW Westphalias in good condition. Research carefully your towing ratings and hitch options for your vehicle.
  11. Ayyadurai is notable for his controversial claim to be the "inventor of email", based on the electronic mail software called "EMAIL" he wrote as a New Jersey high school student in the late 1970s.[1][2] Initial reports that repeated Ayyadurai's assertion—from organizations such as The Washington Post and the Smithsonian Institution—were followed by public retractions.[1][3] These corrections were triggered by objections from historians and ARPANET pioneers who pointed out that email was already actively used in the early 1970s.[4] Ayyadurai also produced two controversial reports: the first questioning the working conditions of India's largest scientific agency; the second questioning the safety of genetically modified soybeans... Educated in, electrical engineering and computer science, visual studies, mechanical engineering and biological engineering. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shiva_Ayyadurai This is the type of fake news created by right wing news websites: From: 08.23.2017 Whats going on with Free Speech? Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai & Garret Kirkland August 24, 2017 Rachael wants to know what the Boston Free Speech Rally on August 19, 2017 was all about. So she interviews one of the Organizers, one of the Speakers, and takes calls from people who where there. And discovers it was NOTHING like what the media hyped it up to be. "DR. SHIVA AYYADURAI is an Indian-American who spoke at the Free Speech Rally in Boston. Dr. Shiva Ayyadurai is credited as inventing email at age 14" http://www.shadowcitizen.online/index.php/2017/08/24/08-23-2017-whats-going-on-with-free-speech-dr-shiva-ayyadurai-garret-kirkland/ 'Inventor of Email' Loses Libel Case Against TechDirt September 6, 2017 A federal judge delivered a big blow to the self-proclaimed “inventor of email” on Wednesday, ruling that posts by the blog TechDirt calling him a “fake,” “phony,” and other names were not defamatory. The ruling is a big win for TechDirt and its founder, Mike Masnick, and also for media outlets as a whole that have increasingly found themselves the targets of questionable lawsuits by well-funded critics. With TechDirt, the case began early this year when entrepreneur Shiva Ayyadurai filed a $15 million libel complaint over articles that ridiculed his claim to be “the inventor of email.” Ayyadurai, who runs a self-promotional website called “Inventor of Email,” developed an electronic messaging platform as a 14-year-old. His boast has been widely disputed, however, by computer scientists and technology historians, who attribute greater credit to others for creating email. http://fortune.com/2017/09/06/inventor-of-email-loses-libel-case-against-techdirt/ So last Sept. a federal judge ruled that calling him a fake and phony was not defamatory.
  12. White House senior adviser Stephen Miller had to be escorted off the set of CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday after a heated interview with the show's host, Jake Tapper. Miller was asked to leave the set multiple times but refused to leave, after he which he was escorted out by security, a CNN employee confirmed to The Hill. http://thehill.com/homenews/media/367857-stephen-miller-escorted-off-set-after-heated-cnn-interview-report trump has surrounded himself by the mentally unstable.
  13. Wikileaks doing everything it can to hurt any critic of trump, to support trump and Russian. WikiLeaks shares full text of Wolff's Trump book WikiLeaks posted the full text of Michael Wolff’s explosive new book about President Trump on Sunday. The website’s official account tweeted a link to a Google Drive containing the full text of the book. “New Trump book ‘Fire and Fury’ by Michael Wolff. 14. Robert Reich has been saying the same thing for a long time. IMO he is a little left. Thats why he found himself in the Carter and Clinton cabinets. He's completely right about corporate lobbying and power. Why do you think after the housing and mortgage crisis. That triggered the last recession. That billions were paid by corporations and billions more in subsidies. Yet no corporate officers went to prison from those same companies. Its the same corporations that have been deregulated on wall street. Robert Reich: Trump Is Inviting Another Financial Crisis "Maybe Trump thinks Americans forget losing their jobs, homes and savings in the fallout. Many people who voted for Trump got shafted. I hope they haven’t forgotten that while they suffered, not a single bank executive went to jail. Related: Robert Reich : Don't Fall for Trump's Corporate Tax Giveaway Trump supporters need to join with Democrats and progressives in stopping this rollback, and holding Trump accountable. The biggest banks are far bigger today than they were in 2008. Then, the five largest had 25 percent of U.S. banking assets. Today they have 44 percent. If they were too big to fail then, they’re too big period now. Getting rid of Dodd-Frank triples the odds of another financial crisis." http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-trump-inviting-another-financial-crisis-592816 trump has played the American worker for votes and pandered up to Wall Street. All to line his pockets and that of the trump clan. Its all part of the trump transactional playbook.
  15. Here is Robert Reich In fact, since the beginning of Trump's presidency, just 1,200 coal-mining jobs have been created, according to monthly reports by the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In fact, the 1,200 coal jobs during Trump's presidency thus far are just 100 more than were created between August and December 2016 under President Obama. http://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-has-only-delivered-1200-coal-mining-jobs-despite-claiming-have-751885 Robert Reich: The Three Big Lies About Trump’s Tax Plan http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-three-big-lies-about-trumps-tax-plan-750616 Robert Reich: Trump May Be Dumb, But He Has Plenty of Emotional Intelligence http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-trump-may-be-dumb-he-has-plenty-emotional-intelligence-773200 Trump doesn’t think he’s stupid, of course. As he recounted, “I went to an Ivy League college … I did very well. I’m a very intelligent person.” Yet Trump wasn’t exactly an academic star. One of his professors at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business and Finance purportedly said that he was “the dumbest goddamn student I ever had.” Trump biographer Gwenda Blair wrote in 2001 that Trump was admitted to Wharton on a special favor from a “friendly” admissions officer who had known Trump’s older brother. what about Mayer and Salovey’s second aspect of emotional intelligence – influencing the emotions of others? This is where Trump shines. He knows how to manipulate people. He has an uncanny ability to discover their emotional vulnerabilities – their fears, anxieties, prejudices, and darkest desires – and use them for his own purposes. To put it another way, Trump is an extraordinarily talented conman. He’s always been a conman. He conned hundreds of young people and their parents into paying to attend his near worthless Trump University. He conned banks into lending him more money even after he repeatedly failed to pay them. He conned contractors to work for them and then stiffed them. By Robert Reich On 1/7/18, from above story. Does that answer your question?
  16. I'm surprised to read the words of the first two posters in this thread as they are among the most fervent supporters of trump. Robert Reich started out under the Ford administration, a republican president. Robert B. Reich is the Chancellor’s Professor of Public Policy at the University of California, Berkeley, and a senior fellow at the Blum Center for Developing Economies. He served as secretary of labor in the Clinton administration, and Time magazine named him one of the 10 most effective cabinet secretaries of the 20th century. He has written 14 books, including the best-sellers "Aftershock," "The Work of Nations," "Beyond Outrage" and, most recently, "Saving Capitalism." He is also a founding editor of The American Prospect magazine, chairman of Common Cause, a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and co-creator of the award-winning documentary "Inequality for All." Above from: https://www.salon.com/2017/12/30/a-year-with-trump_partner/ and the story entitled: Robert Reich: Surviving a Year with Donald Trump America has had its share of incompetents, but Trump’s disregard of American ideals is like nothing else before him But a better summation of how trump is further polarizing America by driving a wedge between people above the average income level and below it is: Robert Reich: Trump Voters, He’s Taking You For Suckers http://www.newsweek.com/robert-reich-trump-voters-hes-taking-you-suckers-764897
  17. A quick search turns it up on page 204. One should have anticipated this from the "Pu##y grabber in chief", I guess.
  18. Trump Told Hope Hicks She Was 'The Best Piece of Tail' Corey Lewandowski Would Ever Have, Book Claims “You’ve already done enough for him,” Trump allegedly responded to Hicks. “You’re the best piece of tail he’ll ever have,” he added, in a comment that reportedly sent Hicks “running from the room.” The president’s comment was an apparent reference to an on-off romantic relationship between Hicks and Lewandowski, the book claims. http://www.newsweek.com/trump-told-hope-hicks-she-was-best-piece-tail-corey-lewandowski-would-ever-770332
  19. The green is the onboard oxygen AKA MD-1 Bailout Oxygen. I think the black is a GPS/ELT antenna connector.
  20. N. Korea?? Pakistan fought the 1999, Kargil War with India while it had nuclear weapons. They don't have ICBM's that can threaten more than about 1700 nm. Their leaders don't brag about "bigger buttons" to threaten adversaries. Having said that I get your point. They have by far the most terrorism, political violence, of any nuclear power.
  21. The tell-all book quickly shot up to the No. 1 spot on Amazon and almost immediately was backordered there and at other major booksellers including Barnes & Noble. While the book won’t be back in stock on Amazon for another two to four weeks, people can still order the Kindle and audio editions, which were No. 2 and No. 3 on Amazon’s best-seller list. http://time.com/money/5089578/michael-wolff-fire-and-fury-trump-sales/ OK, someone needs to start a new thread about the movie, the name of the movie and who should star in it.
  22. More and more people are coming out vetting the facts and representations of this book and virtually every story is ringing true. Marc could use the internet to learn the facts about something before resorting to instinctive. Right vr left, Breitbart inspired rhetoric. Michael Wolff got access to the trump WH because he wrote a favorable, accurate book about trumps friend Rupert Murdoch. trump expected a flattering expose of himself because he loves media attention. This is that book: https://www.amazon.com/Man-Who-Owns-News-Murdoch/dp/B007U7TQ42 This is the author: "Wolff was nominated for the National Magazine Award three times, winning twice".. The Columbia Journalism Review criticized Wolff in 2010 when Wolff suggested that The New York Times was aggressively covering the breaking News International phone hacking scandal as a way of attacking News Corporation chairman Rupert Murdoch.[21] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Wolff_(journalist) Murdoch is no friend of the "left". Wolff is a NY,NY based author with a long track history of magazines and books. Leaning towards "In a 2004 cover story for The New Republic, Michelle Cottle wrote that Wolff was "uninterested in the working press," preferring to focus on "the power players—the moguls" and was "fixated on culture, style, buzz, and money, money, money." This is what got him access to the trump WH because the media whore trump expected a Murdoch style book. Instead he got the truth and its ugly.
  23. Two senior pilots have been grounded for fighting in the cockpit mid-air on a New Years Day flight from London to Mumbai with 324 passengers and 14 crew members on board. Officials of Indian airline Jet Airways are investigating claims that a male pilot slapped his female colleague during a heated argument which resulted in both pilots leaving the cockpit unattended on the long haul flight. After being slapped, the female pilot, who has not been identified, left the cockpit in tears, according to local newspapers. A member of the cabin crew, who was concerned about the safety of passengers, then tried to convince the pilot to re-enter the cockpit to operate the flight. http://www.newsweek.com/pilot-fight-mid-air-cockpit-unmanned-jet-airways-770790
  24. Oh there are so many like that. Its a non-stop expose of trump buffoonery. This is another story by the same author of the book: http://www.gq-magazine.co.uk/article/michael-wolff-book-trump
