  1. I just wonder why there were rips in the canopy that nobody had noticed? Two canopies ripped in the same DZ in such a short time, seems strange. Did you ask the people who had packed them had they not noticed the rips? I don't know prolly would have choped, it's easy for people to say what they would have done if they were in your boots, but your walking and talkin so this time it was the right decision. But don't be afraid of getting under that reserve if you need to.
  2. yeh take some sudafed or ask the chemist what they think, they'll be able to say if it's time to see the doc! Also try getting an apple and take the biggest possible bite that you can, as you stretch your jaws, your ears might just pop.
  3. Hey there It's not just to do with the interior gettting damaged, most people wont be sitting that high for the lining to be damaged. I think it's mainly got to do with the wing not getting damaged. The wing can get damaged so easily, a small knock and it'll be dinted (its happend before) but if there was a top mounted camera on a helmet the damage would be significantly worse. I know the camera guys n girls in the IPC are careful but if one is allowed then everyone has to be allowed including visitors who might not be so careful and I don't think they're willing to take the risk, cant say I blame them when ya see how easy it can be damaged. KLR I'll show you at the weekend how easily it can be damaged. Dont forget my video.

I had my next custom made and it fits perfect. I was thinking of buying a wings but didn't really like packing them the container doesn't seem to let the bag sit that well and when i compared price there was no comparison! You get a well made container(it is German) with alot of extras for alot less cash. The hardware is great and i love the anti slip pins on the leg strap buckle. Cut ins just wrap around you and its just very comfortable. My cut away and reserve pads are a bit lower than on most containers but i actually prefer them were they are, you can see them clearly and you can get a good grip easily. All pins are well protected and all flaps are well made and sturdy and you just know they'll stay closed. This is a fantasic container at an excellent price, I think it won't be long until we see alot more of them around.
  5. I was going to buy a sabre2 because every time i jumped it i loved it but got a great deal on the V-Tec as part of a complete system so went with it and I sure am happy. It's the nicest canopy so far. I have the advanced line setting but you can get it with a novice line setting. Opens soft and on heading, flies like a dream, its responsive, stable and handles well on risers and the landings are the nicest i've had so far. It packs like a dream, even as new it's first pack job was no problem at all. All in all I'd say if I was to get another new canopy or recommend one I'd say go for the V-Tec its great.
  6. Im sure you could even get a better looking continer than the ones you've shown but out of them id say no.2, I saw a new container in the colours of number 3 and it looked crap and everyone on the dz thinks it looks old and crap and it's not even a month old!!! Its alot more expensive to get a rig thats not that great looking with colours not many people would like if you wanted to sell it than if you want to be colour co-ordinated buy a new suit and get a really nice container.
  7. I did all my static line jumps from a C206 the first few jumps were disaster but once you get it you'll be fine. Im small to and I was getting fustrated that i couldn't get it right. Then after practicing on the ground, getting myself right on the edge of the door and i mean right on the edge of the door only the left side of my bum and upper thigh are on the plane my legs were right back toes pointed and your shoulders nearly square looking in at the pilot i got it and the minute i left the plane i knew it was right. Do the practice on the mock up and GET YOUR INSTRUCTOR TO WATCH IT ALL then when your happy, try to relax go up dont concentrate to much on getting it right in the plane just go and do what you did on the ground. Once it clicks , that will be it. Good luck
  8. Thats hard work on you. I did static line and I had to do at least two good exits before I did 2(minimum) DRPs which had to be perfect and then onto a 3 second freefall. I don't kow where you jump but it seems to me you wouldn't even be 100% comfortable after 1 jump to do 2 drps and onto freefall!!! besides the fact that you missed your Drp on the 3rd jump that means that you only had one proper Drp before you went to freefall. That scares me, no wonder you paniced, i would have to. I had to have at least two "text book" drps before I could think about freefall. I dont know where you live and im sure at the time id of been happy to go from 1 good drp to freefall but looking back i cant believe any decent cci would allow that. But hey thats just me, nut don't give up it just gets better and better.
  9. I THINK the cypres would be ok, once the pilot was aware that it was on. It'd just mean a slow flight down thats all. Afterall think of how it works.
  10. It makes sense for a pilot to have to wear a rig if he is going to be able to get out of the plane but say if it was an Islander and the tail has just been ripped off, the pilot would never get out as if he got out his door he would jump right into the prop and he would never make it to the back of the plane with the G forces. So therefore it would really only make sense for it to be a legal requirement if the aircraft pemitted easy escape. Not that it would be easy in any case.

  12. come on guys, it jut tkes a bit of getting used to, I have to say tough i was nearly in tears a few times, somebody would shoult, will you pack, i'd say yes and then wonder what the hell i was doing, one day I had a brand new canopy on the ground and begged my rigger friend to show me how he seems to have no problem getting it in the bag and it worked, now I seem to get the shout for all the new canopies but they don't seem any harder than older ones. So my advice is keep an eye out for somene who packs pretty quickly and when you see them fold that canopy into the pack like it's no problem grab them and don't let them go until they show you how to do the same, after the first few a new canopy will be like any other packjob.
  13. Are Paratec rigs available through thomas sports in the uk under the name of viper or is tat a roumor? If so has anybody any bad info on the viper. I just heard that the delay is on new rigs is because the containers are made in the UK and sold by paratec in the Germany as Next? Anyone?
  14. That guy must want you dead. I'm 10lbs lighter than you and have 72 jumps and i've just ordered my own rig with a 170 vtec from paratec, this canoapy has 2 line sattings you can get it with novice lines or experienced setting. This is the kinda thing you should be looking at. Go to your instructor, cci or clubs master rigger and ask them for some advice. Thats what they're there for. Just one other thing don't ask a dealer for advice he'll sell you whatever he deals and it might not be suitable fo you, remember you wana buy a rig so you can jump not so you can kill yourself on your 1st jump of, there should be no rush to get a smaller faster higher performance canopy. Just work on getting yourself onto the ground safely and then you can get to know what you can do with your canopy. Blus Skies and Safe landings
  15. Keep an eye on ebay, I found areally cheap tony suit, it had only been worn once but when it arrived it was like brand new. the once it was worn must have been when it was tried on. It's always worth a look. Just put skydiving in the search box.
