  1. I had tried a few different full faces borrowed from friends over the years and didnt really care for them. I recently tried a G3 and bought one immediately. Really like that helmet a lot and it has great vision all around, and I like that I can wear sunglasses without a strap underneath. My only issue is that twice ive exited with the visor up. Hasnt become habit yet to put it down
  2. Nice job organizing this event spot, people really seem to enjoy it. Quick question, what denotes each category, is it suit used, or number of jumps?
  3. I keep telling you not to let dudes but stuff up there, but you never learn
  4. I think the use of ultralight material in all these canopies is the most important part to the pack volume. Its been almost a whole week since my order was officially placed so im a little disappointed in squirrels turnaround time. I might have to wait another 2-3 weeks!!! Bullshit Beal, dont you have a war you should be fighting?
  5. Both start flying really fast. Jedei is a bit floatier, I find the aura turns faster. By floatier i mean the aura is in the low 30mph range consistently and the Jedei might be a little slower than that on fall rate. Pull is easy on both. If you want to float around for 4 minutes by yourself or do XRW these suits are great, I like the C2 better for skydiving if thats all youre going to do with it. Zak Tessier flew a Jedei for a couple years and has now switched to an aura and does silly things in it, so hes a good guy to ask as well.
  6. I got a 150, should fit nicely into my container for a 120.
  7. Should have mine in a couple weeks. My container fits a 120 max and my sabre 120 is a bit small for gigantic suits. I can make it work, but the opening is the scariest part of the jump for sure, and I look forward to making that change. I agree that theres nothing wrong with a sabre 1, and this is definitely a niche canopy, but Im in that niche.
  8. As ive said in the past, I think with any zip system, the D ring is a bad idea. Not saying it never will be an issue, or defending one system over any other, but has there been any incidents yet with these type of systems? Just curious if theres been any close calls or people landing with handles inside.
  9. So maybe is better buy BASE canopy from company is not make excuses about lead times, no? Slater That wasnt english so im not sure what you really meant by that, but all lightweight base and skydiving canopies in the industry are being delayed by the lack of porcher material. Not the first time this issue has happened with the material.
  10. I wrote up a nice brand was comment but decided to play nice. Just out of curiosity, any reason youre not looking at a havok or funk if your goal is acro? I had long considered skydiving to be a place where i did a couple test jumps on a suit before taking it to a cliff, but the funk brought me back to just loving the sky.
  11. Do you think either has as much stress as a standard skydiving opening straight down? I haven't collapsed since I stopped flying a classic.
  12. I think porscher (makes basically all the lightweight fabric used in parachutes outside of pd's) is having production delays so no canopies yet. Design is done as far as I know.
  13. To be fair this is one of scottys top priorities in suits. Ive never seen someone so addicted to facebook in my life. Jarno its also always interesting to me that 3:1 is a number people have been claiming to do for probably 7+years. Suits are getting better, we are flying much farther, but yet when we measure it we are still around 3:1. Makes me think that people might have been exagerating before :)
  14. Did you at least have a GTI with the sweet gripper mod that ads about 2sq inches of fabric? :)
  15. Flown it a few times out of the airplane. Might take it off a very large local cliff at some point in the next year, but having a lot of fun playing with my other suits. I got a SUIT as well. Its amazing how small it feels, but very easy to fly as well, and better performance than id have thought.
  16. It's a very docile square seven cell, think base canopy but smaller. It's also made of low bulk material which is the main difference. Bigger canopy in a smaller bag that won't dive on you if things get twisty.
  17. I prefer size 0 and plastic. In my weird little brain, and I cant think of a scenario where this would really matter, if theres some kind of intense force on the zippers, the plastic ones will eventually break. When im BASE jumping and really dont want zippers serparating at all, like on the front, I clip them through where the pull actually goes.
  18. I usually love to troll on these type of posts, but I must say this situation reminds me of another base gear manufacturer who I respect greatly. PF makes a quality product that a lot of people obviously want. Does this mean that Robi has to go through the stress/hassel of expanding the production hugely? If he is happy making the amount of wingsuits he is, in the way that he is, and still obviously getting out and jumping with friends, which is im going to guess a lot of the reason he does this in the first place, then why change? I had a discussion with said base gear manufacturer a couple years ago about the same thing. His answer was why cause more headaches, more stress, and make about the same money in the long run by tripling production capacity when im happy with things the way they are? If you want a different suit, or want it faster, then you can go elsewhere, but Robi is obviously doing things how he is happy doing them, and I could never fault someone for that. The customer service is another issue, but as far as long lead times, some times thats just what happens with a small boutique type company. Oh, and scotty bob, eat a dick.
  19. Just flew with Gerdes in a production c2. His start was just as fast as my aura. I think people will be surprised by it. I've only flown a pre-production one but it's very fast and happy to dive. I'd say it's in the v-race/scorpion catergory or size and nimbleness.
  20. Ah I just realized you think I somehow get paid or get free stuff from squirrel if I am taking your out dated pharmaceutical reference correct. Pharm companies long ago realized they couldnt buy doctors, so they advertise straight to consumers and get people to demand certain meds from their docs because they saw it on tv, a very smart idea. But seriously, just want to know about the holes.
  21. Im not even sure how to respond to the medical part of that so ill just leave it alone. Robi, id be your friend and you dont even have to give me a single thing, and I love your use of 'Murica. Ive said in the past, Ive loved every PF suit ive owned. Ive had a V2-4, p2, and still have a tracking suit. All that out of the way, now that I know you are reading this I seriously just want to know... If the hole in the suit is good, then why not put holes in all of them? The viper had a hole, but the new venom which is touted for its handling in the big suit class has no hole. Jarno is totally correct that I have a Physics 101 level of understanding of aerodynamics, so please please please tell me, why intermittent holeage? My night shift is over now and I dont work for a while, so Ill check this in a day or so. I would LOVE to have an answer!
  22. Haha markus, I wish a had some excitement. Just same old abdominal pains and such. Just trying to understand aerodynamics better I suppose.
  23. If the the hole is there to improve performance, then why not do it for every suit? which was one of the questions raised in the discussion I was having with a friend. The new venom does not have this feature, but the viper did. Is there a reason some suits feature this design and others do not? I cant recall if the stealth/older venom had this. Have to keep my mind active during these night shifts somehow.
  24. This is not intended to be any kind of brand war discussion, just something that came up the other day and there was a lot of debate about. What is the purpose of the hole in the leg wing/deflector area in vampires. Seems to be unique to this specific suit and just wondering. Lets just set a standard of no comparisons to other suits or companies in this thread, just would like to know the history of this design element.
  25. But how can you have sharp and accurate moves without fins??? :) Im sure someone much better than me will post some nice video at some point. The fact that I could backfly and carve around people on the first 2 jumps on a suit after honestly not back flying or doing acro since probably 2008 was a very nice suprise. I guess I would have had a better experience on a carve somehow. My real goal is to do more than 20 skydives this year and to have a ton of fun playing around in this suit in the sky, regardless of its complete inferiority in every way to the carve :) So i guess to go back to the original poster's question, if you are a super high level acro flier with 1000s of acro jumps, you should probably get a carve. If you are a weekend warrior and like to backfly and play around with friends in a super easy to fly suit, and dont want to wait 6-8 months for a suit, get a funk.
